Billion Dollar Brows Universal Brow Pencil Review

I received this brow pencil in the "Take Back Your Brows" kit from the Billion Dollar Brows website and it has replaced all other brow pencils in my makeup collection.

It's a nice, soft pencil with a somewhat creamy-wax formula. I'm not sure how much pencil is in it exactly as I haven't hit pan on it and there is a spoolie on the other end but it seems to be lasting well so far!

I use it lightly on my brows and the spaces between the brow hairs so there hasn't really been much need for the pencil to have a sharp point but I do appreciate that I'm not losing any product by having to use a sharpener on it.

The thing I don't like about the BDB brow pencil is the overall length. Having the spoolie on the end makes it really long so I quite often hit my mirror with the end during application. Having the pencil without a spoolie would make a huge difference, making it so much more manageable.

I recommend using it with a light touch and then building up to the colour you want as it's easier to add more than it is to take away.

I'll definitely repurchase this pencil, especially if they every bring out a version with no spoolie on the end.

This was my first brow pencil that I have ever used, I generally stick to Browtox by Napoleon Perdis which is an eyebrow gel. I received this in my March beauty box, and at first I didn't like it as I wasn't used to it. But after I have played around with it, I love it for a quick everyday natural brow look and save my 'Browtox' for a more precise brow look. I love the fact you can just wind the product up, hate having to sharpen beauty products as I feel you lose so much product. It is amazing how it is universal and even though I have blonde hair it still looked amazing on my brows. The formula is very creamy and I find it easy to create my desired look. I will always use the brush at the other end to smooth it all out at the end and I find this helps to create a more natural look with the product. It does last all day but I would recommend using another product to set your brow hairs if needed.

This product was recommended to me by a friend - and I wasn't sure how easy it was going to be to use, and to ensure even brows each time. Its very easy to apply and the colour match to my natural colour is perfect. The brush applicator really helps to create a natural look and its now become the only beauty application I use even on makeup free days.

The only downside is that it wipes off a little too easily, however there are applications to set brows so that will be my next purchase.

I never understood the hype behind the ABH brow wiz so when I saw the BDB pencil in the March BRBB I was excited that I would get to try something similar. I’m a regular user of the angled brush and cream eye liner / eye shadow powder for my eyebrows so it was quite different to take a pencil to my brows.

I did find it tricky to use in the first week and that’s purely because I was still getting use to it. Just like any angled brush the pencil fits nicely between my fingers so I have the control that I need to define my brows. The colour is my perfect shade and blends nicely with my skintone (reference MAC NC42-44 or Revlon Nearly Naked in Toast). Funnily enough I had no idea it was the only shade but I love the fact that it takes the guess work out of colour matching.

I haven’t had any issue with the pencil not being sharp because I tend to use it at an angle and therefore there’s always a point however I’m not too sure I agree with the claim that “it always stays sharp”. If you use it on it’s point then it will not remain sharp unless you start using it at an angle. If I make a mistake I can easily remove it with a swipe of a finger or sheer it out using the spoolie on the end.

With everyday use the BDB pencil lasted me 2 months so in terms of money; that’s approximately $15+ a month for my brows and that’s expensive to maintain. Prior to that, I had been using my elf cream liner for 4 months with barely a dent and that only cost me $5. It’s not a fair comparison because they’re different types of products but it’s just to highlight that you can still use other products to get the job done at a cheaper cost.

I would recommend this in conjunction to what you're already using. I’ve already repurchased 2 BDB pencils to use in between my elf cream liner.

This was included in the March beauty box and I was skeptical to begin with having never used eyebrow products before. Once a friend taught me how to actually use it, I used it every day.

This is nicely pigmented wax that blends easily and holds errant hairs without looking too fake. The built in brush is a nice size without being too unweildly since its on the other end of the pencil.

I got this pencil in the March BRBB, and I find it perfect for everyday use. The pencil comes in a wind up tube which is great, although its not very fine so you don't get super defined lines but it's perfect for a natural look. It also has a spoolie on the end which I use to tidy my brows before filling them in and also afterward to distribute the product.

I was a bit sceptical about the colour being 'universal' but it did work well for me, not sure if it would work so well if you had light brows though. The formula of this product is great, it applies easily and lasts all day. It doesn't smudge at all and I would use make up remover to get it off.

I have used this eyebrow pencil almost everyday since receiving it in the latest BR Beauty box! I first use the little eyebrow brush on the end to get my brows nicely manicured and ready to fill. Then I use the pencil end to fill in where my brows are a bit lacking. While this says it is a universal brow pencil I'm not entirely sure how it would look on a fairer haired eyebrow but for my brunette brows its the perfect shade. I really like that it doesn't need to be sharpened and the fact that it twists up as and when it wears down. The packaging is really nice and the staying power of the pencil is great I have to remove it with makeup remover at the end of the day. This eyebrow pencil is definitely a winner!

I had been lusting after this brow pencil so when it arrived in the BRBB I was beyond stoked. The brow pencil I had been using was running low and I had been wondering which product to try.

The staying power is awesome! I have sparse brows so I love the fact that the product doesn't budge once you've drawn on your brows. The colour, as they say, is pretty universal. I'm blonde and find it a pretty good colour match when applied lightly, and also very natural looking.

It's super convenient in a retractable tube with a spooly on the end. The lid on the pencil clicks on securely, but the lid on the spooly does not, it comes off quite easily so is not ideal for travel.

The issue I have with this pencil is because you can't sharpen it, it becomes blunt quite quickly, and it just doesn't have a fine enough tip for a precise application once this happens. This won't be an issue if you already have brows and are just using the pencil to fill them in/tidy them up, but for those of us needing to draw the entire brow on, a thicker blunt pencil just doesn't cut the mustard. I'm continuously having to go in with a cotton bud and clean up the edges.

I sadly will not be repurchasing for this reason and am still on the hunt for my HG brow product!

this product is great for shaping my unruly brows with the brush on one end, beautiful soft pencil ,that stays sharp would highly recommend this product very smooth and natural and suits all tones also water resistant and a very nice sized pencil a very nice item to use

Well I like many other lucky ladies received this little gem in the March BRBB. I have never used an eyebrow pencil because really I didn't think I needed one. Boy I was wrong.

Ok so tell me I wasn't the only one that opened the box took it out opened it up saw the mid brown colour and gone "darn that's not my colour, that won't work on me" only to realise if I had read the box properly the first time I would have realised it is suitable for any colour type. I still read this and thought how could it work I was so sure having dark eyebrows the light brown would be noticeable. Well it's not I don't know how it works all I know is it works and I suddenly have fuller looking brows. I hate my brows they have no shape and I have to wax and pluck them very carefully to get a bit of a curve going on.

So I found this really really easy to use after the first time I used it. Just use little strokes on your eyebrows, you just want to fill in the hairs you aren't actually painting on your eyebrows. I find the product beautiful and creamy and blends very easily with the bristled brush at the other end of the pencil. Both ends have lids which is great to keep everything in good condition. The pencil is twist top so you don't even need to sharpen the pencil!! Great great product that I love and enjoy using.
