Thought this would be great for me - with stretch marks and a bit if acne scarring. Was told by a friend to give it a try and to use it every day, so I did so religiously to no avail! Used it til the bottle was empty without a single change!

I am a trilogy rosehip oil fan and use it day and night. I decided to buy this as it is a cheaper product. It just doesn't feel the same. I felt like the oil just sits on top of the skin and doesn't absorb in. It also feels quite thick compared to Trilogy Rosehip oil.
I used Bio Oil for a few weeks in an attempt to reduce the appearance of minor stretch marks. The bottle is pretty standard, however a screw top lid is not ideal when you are left with oily hands. I also found it difficult to control how much product was dispensed, and almost always ended up with too much. The oil has almost no scent, isn't luxurious to use and feels like it is sitting on top of the skin. It leaves a very oily residue, which would be okay if it was only being applied to a small scar.
I used Bio Oil for a few weeks, and noticed no difference in my stretch marks, however I wouldn't expect to for this period of time. I replaced my standard body butter with Bio Oil for that area of my skin, and I found that it become dehydrated. Not flaky or dry, but certainly dull and dehydrated. I stopped using Bio Oil after reading the ingredients and deciding that it was something that I no longer wanted to apply to my body.
I used it from the start of my pregnancy till I was about 6months then I found a product that actually worked. It was the biggest waste of money and totally over priced. It did absolutely nothing and did nothing it said it would.
When Bio-Oil was released, it seemed to be amazing, it promised results, and the hype around this product was unlike anything else at the time (from memory anyway.. it was a long time ago).
This oil comes in a see through plastic container, which is a small cylinder in shape. It has a white plastic lid that screws off, to reveal a flat surface, with a small hole in it.
At first, i thought this design was silly and that the oil would just pour out. but because the hole is really small, the oil comes out more like drops than a steady stream so that's useful. However, the smooth shape to the white cap is annoying to close after you have applied the oil, because your hands are slippery so it's hard to close.
The oil is orange is colour, but see through at the same time. Its thicker than water, but not as thick as normal oils. I personally don't think it has a smell, not one that a notice anyway.
The way i use this product is by rubbing the oil on the areas i wanted, and massaging it in. However, i really feel like this oil doesnt massage in nicely, it just seems to move the oil around instead of the oil getting absorbed into my skin which is wierd. After awhile, the oil either gets absorbed, or gets wiped away.. who knows! All i know was the this product was a dissapointment.
I brought this oil to use on the stretch marks on my thighs, and this did nothing. I'm not sure if it just wasn't made for my scretch marks, if i was using it wrong, or if it was just a dud product. But either way, I won't be purchasing this again.
Bio Oil....
When I first purchased Bio Oil I was so positive, applied it all the time but it didn't sink into my skin it just left me feeling very "oily" on the areas I applied it (shoulders, tummy and lower back) As time went by, the oil level got lower but the only thing that was reducing was my enthusiasm.
For me Bio Oil was a let down and I will never purchase it again.
I was given a bottle lovingly after I complained about how bad my baby stretchmarks had got. The bottle is a bit meh, it's not horrible, but it doesn't excite you about using it. And the screw top is a bit silly when you try to do it back up again. There's not really a scent to the oil, it's just an oil scent. I kind want to feel like I'm using something special for something like this, so that was a bit of a let down. The oil itself, didn't feel nice on my skin. It didn't absorb easily, and felt really greasy for ages afterwards. I used it for about a month - and while I know that I'm not going to see dramatic improvement in that time, I think my skin got WORSE - it felt dry to the touch and a bit tight. The ingredients in it are offputting as well. Definitely not something I'll use again
I tried this product a few years ago. I found it didn't live up to its reputation. I personally would not buy it again. I also found it too oily. It may work for others though
Unfortunately this did not work for me at all, and I used this for an entire year and a half. My scars are the same and did not soften the look of my stretch marks, although I did not expect it too.It left my skin very oily and during walks in town It felt like dust or dirt sticking to my legs! It is overly priced and I wasted alot of money on this for nothing. I did however like the scent, and was better as an oil treatment for my hair.
Tips: Put a small amount in your hair, leave in for about an hour then wash out. Gives a great shine to your locks
This oil has some amazing ingredients in it BUT it also has some really harmful ingredients in it and with the skin the largest organ in the body and what ever goes on it gets into the body 60% quicker it is not ideal for what is it promoted for, pregnant woman. Also it is expensive for what it is. A way cheaper alternative is buy some rosehip a oil and vit e oil and mix with Almond oil or coconut oil. Way healthier and cheaper than Bio Oil.
