Ardell Brow Pomade Review

I grabbed this in the most recent beauty vault and i was super excited as this is my first brow pomade product. I had read other online reviews about this product drying up super fast so i made sure to always close the lid tightly and securely when not in use, but still it has dried up and gone a disgusting texture! I have only used this three times so im super disappointed. What use I did get out of it though i love, i love the little applicator brush and spoolie thing it comes with, gives your brows great definition! I would buy this if it didnt dry up so quickly ;[

I got this in the last BR vault. I am always up to try new brow products so when this came up in the pages of goodies, I knew I had to have it. I had never heard of Ardell before seeing it on BR vault pages so had no point of reference to go off. I had no expectations so went in blind.

I have always been intrigued by brow pomade from seeing Youtube tutorials of my fave mua's using them. If I am honest I was nervous to give it a go because I do no have a steady hand on the best of days. The Brow Pomade comes with a great dual ended brush with one end being the spoolie to keep any stray brow hairs in check and to make sure my brows are flowing in the right direction. The other end is the pointed brush applicator which has to be the easiest brush to use! The product itself is in a small clear tub with a black screw top lid. It's not alot of product but you only need a small amount so it will last for ages.

The colour I have is medium brown which matched my natural brow colour perfectly but gives it a great boldness. The texture of the pomade is satin like and creamy. It's easy to get some on the brush. I read below that it has been known to dry out. I can't say mine is dry but it has made the brush a bit like a paintbrush that hasn't been washed after painting. It goes a little hard so it means I have to wash it after every use....annoying!

Even against eyebrow pencils which are usually my go to this method of brow filling is effortless and gives me the best arch I have ever had! Usually I stay away from makeup that I have to draw on and make look even but this makes it so easy. It stays on all day because it dries but without making it feel like you have anything on them. Honestly if you like me are intrigued by brow pomade go with this first before committing to a high end one.

I picked this product up during the last vault, as I have always eyed it in my local pharmacies but never decided to take the plunge and buy it. I looked up reviews - and most were good - so I had to grab it! However I am quite disappointed and definitely wouldn't buy this over other brow pomades.

This product retails for $18, and you can find it at local pharmacies. It comes in a small plastic tub, which wasn't quite what I was expecting, as all other brow pomades I've tried come in glass pots. It also comes with a brush, which is something I haven't seen many other brow pomades feature and is a nice touch. It has a spooley on one side and an angled brush on the other side, which is a bit too thick for my preference but it gets the job done. The actual product itself is quite warm toned and has a stiff formula - unlike other brow pomades I have tried that are more creamy and smooth. It has no noticeable smell. I found that when I applied it, it almost became clumpy, so I had to brush it through my brows, but then it lost pigment. I don't really think this shade worked very well for me - it was too warm toned for my blonde-brown hair, and left my eyebrows looking a little orange. While this product does last all day, you do still need to set it in place with a brow gel or your brow hairs might droop. I used this product a few times, but found it didn't beat my Chi Chi Brow Pomade so stopped using it and while having a clean out a few months later, I found it had almost dried out so had to toss it.

I definitely wouldn't recommend this brow pomade over others, as there are many for around the same price or even cheaper on the market that far outperform it (Chi Chi Brow Pomade, Freedom Brow Pomade). It's not the worst, but I'd recommend trying a different one if possible.
