I've been using wax and powder on my brows for as long as I can remember so was keen to try something else in the hope of reducing time spent on application. The colour mocha was a perfect fit for my fair/blonde complexion and the pencil has a wind up triangle shape tip so it’s easy to use to both define and full in. I loved the spooley brush on the other end which meant I could easily blend or fix any issues. The definer was non greasy and stayed perfect all day!. For $21 I'm sold!!

Tips: Practice makes perfect!
I managed to get this in the Beauty Vault. I've always wanted to try Mellow products and finally I got the opportunity to do so . I have two other brow pencils like this and couldn't wait to see how this one would work.
The pencil itself is smooth sleek with gold labelling. The pencil swivels up and down. I'm not sure what shade I got as this is not stated on the pencil. Upon swatch I found it really patchy .
I was surprised when this pencil made perfect brow strokes. I like to define my tail end of my brow and sparse towards the the begging of my brow. I wear this on my brows all day long , a good seven hours wear. I had no fade or slipping.
Overall I was really impressed with how well this defined my brows. Price wise it's fair . I would without a doubt purchase this again.
I received this product through my first BR vault opening earlier this year. I have tried only a couple of Mellow products but have really liked all of them. Mellow products are made in NZ, and are vegan and cruelty and paraben free.
I don't usually use or like brow products as the few times I have tried it has always gone wrong and I look angry. I got this brow definer in the shade Mocha and it matched really well with my brow and hair colour. There is a spoolie on one side and an automatic pencil on the other.
Due to the triangular shaped tip I found it really easy to outline and fill in my brows with no hassle. It has a smooth formula for application and lasts well. I was never confident in brow products before using this particular one. It is something I would repurchase.
I received this in a Beauty Vault in the shade Mocha. I have used a few of Mellow's products before, and I have been satisfied with all of them, this brow pencil was no exception.
Of the different brow products available, I personally prefer a soft, waxy brow pencil like this over gels or powders. It comes in a double-ended black tube. One end has a spoolie, and the other has the brow pencil. This pencil is waxy, so it helps to hold the hairs in place. The triangular shape of the pencil also helps with defining and shaping the brow, and makes it easier to draw the pigment on. The shade Mocha is an ashy dark brown. Although it is too dark for my colouring (I am pale with blonde hair) I enjoyed using this pencil as the colour is nicely pigmented and easy to apply.
The pencil winds automatically, and does not need sharpening. The spoolie is easy to use, and combs the colour nicely through the brows. In a lighter colour I think this would be the perfect brow product for me.
Tips: If you are too heavy-handed with the colour, then simply brush it through your brows with the spoolie provided.
This brow pencil fully exceeded my expectations. With so many products on the market it can be difficult choosing one but this one did a great job for the price. The triangular tip confused me at first but once I’d tested it I could see the benefit in the shape. I like to use brow pencils to draw small lines like hairs rather than just filling in and this pencil gives you the ability to draw fine lines with the finer point as well as fill in where needed with the wider point. Plus the spoolie works well if you think you’ve slightly over done it. Colour lasted perfectly
Tips: Like all brows, define the shape first doing a bottom then a top line of the brow then fill in where needed. Brush colour through when done.
I love the packaging and the overall look of this brow definer. I love that it comes double sided one end with a cute little brush and the other end pencil tip! It has a cute little shape to the pencil tip almost like that of a slim triangle it so good for imitating hairs so easily at with every stoke i love it...the formula is also great and does hold for a long while. This is perfect for perfecting brows!!!
Tips: Small upward strokes with the larger end of the point at the bottom of your brow line to create a more natural looking hair!
I love the fact that this brow definer has a spoolie on the other side. Cute, sleek packaging.
The formula is very creamy but I find it really hard to get a sharp defined line. The formula is so creamy that it sort of cloggs up in your brow hairs and makes them look really blocked. But this is where the spoolie comes in handy. Once you brush your hairs through your brows look ok again and less blocked.
I prefer my brow pencils to be less creamy and with a pointier tip.
The product did last throughout the day but rubs off VERY easily, which is not ideal.
Overall I won't be purchasing anymore of these, as I like my brow pencils to be less creamy and have more staying power
Tips: After you fill in your brows, use concealer to carve out your brows to get a more defined line.
The shade CARAMEL is exactly the same colour as the CARAMEL in the brow pomade.
I found the Mellow Brow definer to give a soft natural brow effect. Perfect for those more natural loving brow fans. The spoolie at the end made combing through the product easy and great for grooming brows before and after application. I did have to use a bit more product than I would have liked to achieve the same effect as the Pomade, but all round a good natural brow product. Perfect for my Mum.
Tips: Use the spoolie brush to groom and disperse excess brow product through the brows.
I love this brow pencil. I have used various pencils for years due to thin brows and gaps in them and this is one of the best for soft subtle results. Easy to use, glides on and stays on. The best thing - is the shape. The angle of the pencil means you can use to almost draw hair strokes on, as well as shade to fill in. And winding up means never needing to sharpen it.
When I saw Mellow Cosmetics was at Farmers, I immediately jumped online and this caught my eye! The Mellow Brow Definers retail for $21 and comes in 6 shades so there's something to suit everyone.
The Mellow Brow Definer Pencil comes in a nice sleek box, which reminds me of ABH Brow Pencil boxes - this could definitely be a dupe! The actual pencil itself is in fairly standard packaging, with caps on either end. It comes with the brow pencil, obviously, and also a spooley which I like because it is short and the bristles aren't too long - for some reason I prefer spooleys that are like this. The pencil itself is triangular, which takes a bit to get used to but is really helpful in outlining and defining the brow. I chose the shade 'Mocha', which suits my brown hair perfectly. It's not too warm toned and not too cool toned either. This brow pencil is the perfect balance between waxy and creamy - it glides on smoothly but doesn't smudge and blend all over the place when I try to brush it out. This makes it stay in place all day when set with a clear or tinted brow gel. I find this brow pencil is perfect for when I'm short on time but still want a groomed brow look.
Overall I would definitely recommend this, especially if you are quite lazy with your brows and want a quick way to get groomed brows! It would be great for a beginner, as it is easy to use and also stays put all day.
Tips: If you accidentally apply too much, just flip the pencil over and brush out with the provided spooley to soften the colour.
