I don't at all know why, but I wasn't expecting much from this product, which I picked up in the August vault.
Low expectations, but within a few uses I was reaching for it quite often over my usual two step routine of brow mascara and a finer pencil. I still go that option for a proper face, but for every day, this is fantastic.
I have black brows, and the shade 'mocha' works nicely to fill them in without it being a solid line of Bert-the-muppet black.
The triangular shape allows for easy shaping, as a small flick of your wrist brings either the point or the flat to the front. The waxy formula transfers easily but also stays well, and cleans up easily with a cotton bud or finger tip if it gets on skin.
Results are natural looking, but still relatively polished, and super simple to achieve.
I'll be repurchasing, and am pleasantly surprised to find something i like for such a good price.
When I saw Mellow Cosmetics was at Farmers, I immediately jumped online and this caught my eye! The Mellow Brow Definers retail for $21 and comes in 6 shades so there's something to suit everyone.
The Mellow Brow Definer Pencil comes in a nice sleek box, which reminds me of ABH Brow Pencil boxes - this could definitely be a dupe! The actual pencil itself is in fairly standard packaging, with caps on either end. It comes with the brow pencil, obviously, and also a spooley which I like because it is short and the bristles aren't too long - for some reason I prefer spooleys that are like this. The pencil itself is triangular, which takes a bit to get used to but is really helpful in outlining and defining the brow. I chose the shade 'Mocha', which suits my brown hair perfectly. It's not too warm toned and not too cool toned either. This brow pencil is the perfect balance between waxy and creamy - it glides on smoothly but doesn't smudge and blend all over the place when I try to brush it out. This makes it stay in place all day when set with a clear or tinted brow gel. I find this brow pencil is perfect for when I'm short on time but still want a groomed brow look.
Overall I would definitely recommend this, especially if you are quite lazy with your brows and want a quick way to get groomed brows! It would be great for a beginner, as it is easy to use and also stays put all day.
Tips: If you accidentally apply too much, just flip the pencil over and brush out with the provided spooley to soften the colour.
