Cute product

It is adorable packaging . And it does take a few coats for it to have a nice finish to it. But the glitters are great and they pick up a lot of glitter so you don't need anymore than two coats for a nice ombré look or on top of another colour :)

Oh yes, i could get used to this

Butter Nail polishes, they weren't even on my radar 6 months ago, but after seeing them at a big bucket sale for around $12, i though i may as well try it, since i had heard good things about it.

The bottle is so cute. Its square, and quite flat. I just like this design because it is a little bit different to every other nail polish. The glass bottle is see through and gives you a good look at the colour your buying but i always google an online swatch so i don't get any surprises. I also actually really enjoyed the brush. I found it really easy to control where the nail polish went which meant no big clean up job afterward.

The formula is pretty nice. I found that only one coat was enough to provide great color, but i still did two because im used to doing two coats. I also found the last around 2 days with no top coats and around 4 days with a top coat, which is saying a lot because nail polishes seem to chip on my nails really easily.

I have googled butter nailpolishes, and they have an impressive range of shades and colour. It almost makes me drool. However, i find these really hard to track down. I have never seen them being sold in stores, unless its a big bucket sale, and when i find them online they are quite pricey.

So even though i would use these again, i would only be able to buy them if they were on special, otherwise they are way out of my price range. Even though the colour range and quality is good, i don't think it justifies the price.

Butter London

This review is based on one of the glitter polishes I own - a gorgeous turquoise in colour. I have always loved wearing bold colours and many coatings of the glitter leave an absolutely exquisite looking result. However like any other glitter polish, it's a bit of a drag to try and clean off and if you ever choose to peel it off instead, it will rip layers off your nail. Every time I feel like wearing this polish I keep that in mind. Apart from that I love the rectangular shape of the bottle, it looks very classy and adds a touch of sophistication; it separates itself from most other nail polishes purely by the shape. Would definitely recommend this to a friend!

Tips: If you go for a glitter and intend to pack it on heavily, try putting a couple of base coat layers on first. This will give a good separation between the nail and the polish.

Love the colours but not the brush!

I own about half a dozen of these nail polishes and I absolutely love Butter's formula. The colours are so vibrant and with two coats, they last for days, with or without a top coat. My favourite colours are the shimmery nude All Hail The Queen and the iridescent purply-gold Buckie.

My one gripe is that the brushes are very small and flat, which makes the polish difficult to apply for those of us without a steady hand.

Tips: Maybe find a different brush to apply these polishes with if you want a nice finish with minimal effort.

Love the packaging and non-generic shades

When I first heard about Butter London lacquers on overseas blogs, I was excited to try them and was ecstatic to find them in Farmers and Smith and Caughey, Newmarket. Like other reviewers have commented, they are a bit pricey and so I also tend to buy the shades that are not easily found elsewhere. The first BL I hunted for was Disco Biscuit, because why wouldn't anyone not want a hot pink with bright iridescent sparkles? (it dried a bit gritty but nothing a thick top coat couldn't smooth out) The names are cheeky, the rectangle bottles are awesome, and I like the small brush - makes it easy to apply. I love that they also have a sticker over the lid and bottle - that way I know that I am buying a bottle that hasn't been 'tried out' in the shop. I don't have trouble with chipping as this usually depends on using a base and top coat best suited to your body chemistry.

Tips: My favourites so far are: Stag Do - a dark greyed out deep green creme with a light green sheen Blagger - A bright royal blue creme The Black Knight - Bright purple, blue and copper micro glitter in a black base

Champers and Stag Do

I love nail polish but hadn't tried Butter London Nail Lacquer before partly due to the availability and partly due to the price, it's a bit pricier than other polishes.

I have this in the colours Champers, a beautiful pearlescent rose gold, and Stag Do, a grey-based dark forest green, which I purchased from another BR member. I really like the formula, not too runny or thick but just the right consistency. I found Champers was opague in two coats and Stag Do in one.

The brush of the polishes is a little smaller than normal but I actually like that as I found it easier to paint smaller nails without getting polish everywhere. I also like the square, sleek packaging of the Butter polishes which are very classy.

I can't give much in the way of longevity as I only wear polish in the weekend but I found they lasted on me pretty much the same as OPI or Essie.

I wouldn't purchase these at full price but I would if they were on special!

Bank breaker!

I have so many Butter London nail polishes in a range of colours and I must say that they are fantastic! The only down side is that they are $30 NZD each so they are on the more expensive scale. I do prefer to buy the glitters than the cremes as they are harder to find dupes for. However the wear for the glitters are shorter than other brands, which is a bit annoying but its worth it as all my friends always give me compliments when i wear Butter London polishes:)

Awesome array of colours

After hearing good recommendations about this nail polish, I decided it was time to try one of the Butter range of polishes.

First of all the packaging is stylish and unique, in the modern looking squarish packaging. It looks like a high quality nail polish by first impressions.

I love the awesome array of colours that are available. the colour i have is 'trout pout' a bright (nearly neon) barbie coloured pink. This colour looks amazing against tanned (fake tan of course) skin in the summer.

The formula is on the runny side, but drys quickly. I found two coats to be sufficient. I find this polish lasts well and is of great quality.

These nail polishes are definitely on the expensive side, but I fell in love with the colour so had to have it! If you feel like splurging on nail polish, definitely give this brand a go!

Would not hesitate to repurchase.

Coverage depends on the finish

I love these lacquers as I find they have a colour range that is quite appealing to me. Also I like the shape of the bottles, it makes for easier storage than the typical round bottles. Only issue with this nail polish is that the lighter pastel colours tend to need 2+ coats and still have a hint of streakiness. The glitters are lovely but as usual need a bit of work when removing. They are a bit pricey so I tend to buy them when on sale.

Loooooove the shades!

Let me start by saying Butter London has INCREDIBLE shades.

Their polishes also have smooth application, good opacity, and really good wear time. The only thing I dislike about these is the thinness of the brush and the price - they are a bit expensive but for the right shades it's totally worth it.

Totally wait till you can get these on a deal or discount and don't be afraid of some of their more out their colours! The finish on them looks good regardless of whether you like the shade or not.

Tips: Spend some time getting used to the brush and make sure you have enough product on it for the whole nail.
