Reviews
This moisturiser is so oily, it leaves my skin looking shiny and doesn't feel very nice to use at all. I have skin on the drier side so, in theory, this moisturiser should be good for it, but it isn't at all. I think i'll have to take the advice of previous posters and give this to hubby to use as aftershave!
I had bad eczema from my teenage and I have been to dermatologists many time for this issue and have used various creams and ointments which are mostly too greasy (which I don't like) and are helpful for short term only. Then one of my GP suggested me Cetaphil Lotion and I thought to give it a try. The best part is that it is non-greasy which I don't mind applying as many times a day as I want. Since, the only solution to eczema is to keep your skin hydrated and very well moisturised so I used it for long term because it wont just do the wonder overnight but keeps the skin well moisturised each time when I use water on my skin to avoid drying out. So, I would highly recommend it as a regular moisturiser too.
Tips: I apply it immediately after washing hands and just patting slightly with tissue to avoid the skin to completely get dried out.
This is my go to facial moisturiser, I haven't used a different one in years! I have managed to suffer from both oily and dry skin and this moisturiser seems to work for both! It's not too heavy so doesn't weigh down oily skin, but is also nourishing enough that it really saves dry skin. I apply this every night and it really does keep my skin looking soft and healthy. However, it isn't a moisturiser I use in the morning because it is does make skin a little greasy throughout the day, and if you have oily skin it does not help control shine. Despite this, using it at night is enough to keep your skin feeling soft so not using it in the mornings works fine for me. It is still by far my favourite facial moisturiser!
Tips: Don't use it in the morning or as a base for makeup as it doesn't hold it very well. Use it as an over-night therapy for dry or unhappy skin as it helps balance and even out any skin type.
Finding the perfect moisturiser is no easy feat. when there is such a large range available to us now, the challenge of finding the right one for your skin type can be a lot of trial and error. As a sufferer of dry, spotty and sensitive skin an absolute stand out moisturiser for me is the Cetaphil Moisturising lotion, having tried other brands both high end and low i always come back to this one for its great hydrating qualities, its non greasy and fast absorbing and leaves you skin reaping the benefits. it also is great prep for makeup application as it is very smoothing on your skin, which creates a perfect base. i highly recommend trying this if you fit into any of the same skin categories as i do.
thanks for reading :)
Tips: i apply this product just with my fingers and massage it into my skin. I recommend starting with a small amount and using more if needed as a little goes a long way!
We purchased this from the pharmacy for our son who has sensitive skin prone to eczema.. Little did he know I was going to claim ownership and use as a daily slather over my fake bake! It's a lovely unscented, easy to apply moisturiser which I find absorbs very quickly and leaves me non greasy
I've been recommended this by my GP for helping with eczema and sensitive skin, and I don't have any complaints! It's a gentle formula that I've used for both face and body and haven't broken out at all. I've also put this into smaller pots for travelling and also in handbags.
I have recently returned to using Cetaphil cleanser and moisturiser consistently. I was hoping it would help my skin as it just seemed to keep worsening.
At 24 years old I thought I would be past the acne days, but unfortunately, there is no such thing! However, I have been using the Cetaphil cleanser and moisturiser morning and night since the start of the year and my skin has been consistently much better and continually improving ever since. My skin feels softer, has lost it's red/inflamed appearance and I'm hardly getting any new pimples if any! I'm relieved that I've found a product that actually helps my skin and doesn't cost a fortune.
A couple of years ago I tried another brand that was heavily marketed and it made my skin the worst it had ever been! It just goes to show the best products may be the ones that don't have the prettiest packaging, marketed the most, or the 'newest.'
If you feel like you just don't know what to do with your skin do this: Use cetaphil gentle cleanser in the morning followed by Cetaphil face moisturiser. At night remove your make up with gentle face wipes (I just use Pams or whatever is cheapest) before cleansing and moisturising.
Tips: Always remove make up with gentle skin cleansing wipe before cleansing at night
I have had a lot of trouble finding a facial moisturiser for acne though I know that I need one for a good acne routine. I found this one and I haven’t let go. It is light and doesn’t clog my pores, I’ve found that my acne is even smaller after I use it. I usually use it at night after I have showered and cleansed as that it when my pores are still open. I’ve also used it after shaving my legs and armpits and it has been the least irritation I’ve had from any moisturiser.
Tips: Use it at night after a shower and cleanse, once a day.
"Clinically proven to hydrate and protect dry skin for 24 hours," that's what the tube said. It also claimed to be non-greasy, fragrance-free and dermatologist recommended. I was wondering if this would be similar to Aveeno which is one of my fave body lotion options. This lotion is non-greasy, it absorbs pretty quickly and is decently hydrating. It isn't all natural the ingredients are water, glycerin, hydrogenated polysobutene, cetearyl alcohol, macadamia nut oil, shea butter, acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, sodium polyacrylate, phenoxyethanol, vitamin e, ceteareth-20, stearoxytrimethylsilane, stearyl alcohol, benzyl alcohol, farnesol, sodium PCA, panthenol, cyclopentasiloxane, dimethicone, citric acid and sodium hydroxide. So it's not natural, even though there are some skin loving ingredients it's just free of fragrance. So how does this compare to my fave Aveeno, I still like the Aveeno one better. This tube of Cetaphil was given to me otherwise I wouldn't have picked it up. I hear of some people using it on their face, I don't because I have come a long way and I prefer to treat my face to products specifically for my face, but there was a time when I would've used this as a facial moisturizer as well. It is a decent choice for moisturizing my body and stops it itching from that post shower dryness. I probably won't be getting more once I use this up just because I have other body lotions I prefer and prefer Aveeno which happens to be more affordable as well.
Tips: This is a decent body lotion for anyone with dry skin, however I personally think Aveeno body lotion is better, especially the one with the blue top plus it's a bit cheaper especially when it's on sale. I have heard of people using this for their face, I personally prefer a proper facial moisturizer designed for my face but each to their own.
