Such a classic. My gran found a half full bottle in her beauty draw and gave it to me, I was so excited. I now only have a smidgen left in the bottle but i'm too scared to use it all up (because I can't afford a new one) so it's just sitting on my bookshelf amongst all my other perfumes looking pretty. It's such a timeless perfume and can be worn by all ages. Obviously the bottle is quite simple but I think it's so lovely and sophisticated. This perfume doesn't come cheap but if the price doesn't bother you then give this a try for sure!

Chanel No 5
What can be said that hasn't been already? A timeless classic that still is a number one seller over 80 years after its launch in 1921.
Created by Earnest Beaux, No.5 was the first perfume ever created using so much Aldehydes, which gives the fragrance its sparkle.
Legend has is that Beaux presented Chanel with ten fragrances to choose from. (Or so the story goes...) Chanel chose perfume number five, hence the name.
Floral-aldehydic, a bouquet of abstract flowers with an indefinable femininity.
N°5 Eau de Parfum is not simply a different concentration, but an olfactory reinterpretation, which is faithful to the spirit and base notes of the original composition.
The 35 ml spray comes in a flat, rectangular bottle with a black and gold cap. The bottle with a glass cabochon available in 50 and 100 ml sprays.

This really is a timeless classic. Chanel No 5 is a scent that feels miles ahead of it's time. There aren't any really similar smelling scents to this and, unlike most scents from the bygone era, this does not smell like another run off the mill oriental; aldehyde or musk fragrance.
I suppose there are some scents that have a similar "feel" to this, though I wouldn't exactly consider them to be substitutes.
The ones that come to mind are Jean Patou Joy and Lanvin Arpege
No 5 is incredibly wearable as an everyday scent, though it's best suited for fancy occasions and colder nights
Like all other Chanel scents, this has great silliage and lasting power
I have the refillable 50mL eau de toilette spray which I bought for myself as a 17 year old. It is an elegant black and gold square case which contains a simple square glass bottle refill. My husband buys me a refill whenever I run out and the cost is never mentioned! I have never been without my signature scent for 25 years now. The fragrance impression is of summer flowers, chiefly jasmine, with a rosy heart and shimmering freesia trail. The sillage is assertive without being overpowering, and lasts without reapplication for many hours. Appropriate for day or night wear. Chanel No.5 is costly but will truly reward your investment with long wear and that confidence boost that a truly remarkable fragrance gives.
My number one all time favourite fragrance. Have used it for over 10 years. I have the 100ml EDT.
It has a deep powdery scent that lasts through the day. Every now and again during the day I can smell it, and it makes me smile.
Yes my nana used to wear it, but it transcends generations. There are other 'softer' Chanels that the shop assistants sometimes recommend, but nothing compares to Chanel No5.
Love the tall glass bottle with magnetic lid, and the timeless packaging. One of the most expensive perfumes on the market, but worth every cent.
Chanel No5 can be worn for power/confidence, for evenings, for day, and even for weekends. It is like a chameleon that works in any situation.
Tips: Buy it and love it.
I first tried Chanel No. 5 in my grandmother's collection. I have always loved Chanel as a brand but I was only a child so there was no way my parents would buy me such an expensive perfume (I mean, what child wears perfume anyways?). I loved the smell of it on me and I was quite delighted when my grandmother gave me the last bit of perfume on the day of my school ball and told me that I could wear it. It's soft, elegant and sophisticated and personally I think it fits me perfectly. The perfume itself lasts until the next morning when you take a shower. When I wear it I feel powerful and sexy and it gives me just that little confidence boost. I'd definitely rate it as value for money.
Tips: Buy it. Now. You're worth it.
Just like every wardrobe must have a little black dress... I believe perfume must have Chanel No.5
I love wearing this perfume it makes me feel like a night on the town very safisticated, but soft scent that anyone will love even those around you that will have to smell it when you on a night out on the town with. Friendly little number like I said a must have.
Tips: Because it is pricey I use it for those special nights out on the town and have other perfumes for other uses like a everyday one etc....
My mum had a bottle of Chanel No 5 on her dresser when I was a little girl, it was still in its little box. I would sneak in to her room, open the box, delicately take the glass stopper off the bottle and sniff. It is not nostaglia that makes me love this perfume. It is a classic, stand alone perfume that is deeply defined by its warmth and lingering powder tone. It is a statement perfume, which is best worn when you want to feel elegant and powerful. One drop lasts a long time. I liken it to wearing liquid gold, because it is such a well known timeless scent.
Tips: Include it in your perfume collection. Don't over use it, save it for special occasions, when you need a sophisticated, sexy boost.
I bought a 100 ml bottle duty free a couple of years ago and would only wear it for special occasions however I recently got given a bottle for my birthday and have decided to enjoy every day. The scent is very light and floral with a lingering smell. It makes me feel very luxurious and decadent .The bottle is simple and elegant. I love this perfume and get lots of compliments when I wear it. One of the best presents I have received.
Tips: Use it and enjoy it -perfumes don't last forever so don't let it spoil
This smell reminds me of my mummy...I personally didnt like the smell on me so she got lucky and now swears by this as her daily fragrance.
I don't really like musky, woody fragrances and this just screamed it on my skin. It has a floral undertone...I prefer my fragrances to reek of candy bubbles rainbows and fruityness!
Upon spraying this it was incredibly over powering and ended up giving me a headache. A good point for potential buyers is it lingered on me all day but i kept thinking'what is that smell...oh that's right chances are it is me'.
This is an incredibly pricey perfume for those who wish to try it wait like I did to invest when Farmers have discounts or if you have vouchers given to you. My loss was mummy's gain and she adores it.
So when I get a whiff it always reminds me off my mum. Chanel No.5 wasn't for me but seems way more popular for more mature ladies.
Tips: Would be great as a gift.
I recently bought some Chanel No 5 when I went through duty free after trying samples. I really wanted to win a BR trial and was determined to try it anyway. I am absolutely thrilled with my purchase; the fragrance is quite strong though it's not sickly or flowery and I am very pleased that it lasts all day and isn't over powering.. If a a perfume can exude confidence, this one does. With a sense of power and just sexy enough to wear every day without overdoing it! I'm going to wear Chanel No 5 everyday, just because I love it!
Tips: Don't overdo it!
