I was so excited to get chosen for my first review. When I received the parcel I felt there was nothing in the box but once opened there was a small tube of colour and developer, small brush and tray and gloves. MMM!! I was in need of a new colour so this was the perfect time to test. I applied to my middle part and went a couple of parts in and around my face. The brush and tray were really easy to use and enough product to cover the necessary. I left on for about 20mins rather than 10 as my greys are tough to colour and am really pleased with the result. The Cons for this product are you only have enough product for one touch up so cost saving is nil if you are a person like me who colours your own hair. I would have expected enough product to be able to use at least three times to extend three full head colour applications to make worth while. The pros are that if you only have a few greys this would be ideal and the product and colour works well, For me I would not bother as the cost is no sab=ving si I may as well do a full head covor,

Tips: If you go to a salon for your hair colour this idea of extending a hair visit by a couple of weeks each time would save a significant saving over the year.
I'm always on the hunt for something to make my glittering greys less noticeable, so when Clairol Nice N Easy Root Touch Up Permanent came up for review I was very excited. The packaging was simple and gave all the necessary information. It was interesting to find a small mixing bowl for preparation, the two liquid ingredients were poured into it and the when mixed you applied the dye with a brush. Although this preparation method was a little fiddly it was effective. I had a lot of dye left over and did as it said by putting it into my lengths. The 10 minute process time was a nice surprise. The smell also wasn't bad. After rinsing the colour was consistent and covered most of my greys, some had snuck through which was a bit perplexing. Overall this product did exactly what it says on the box. I found it to be easy and effective. I do feel however with its price point being similar to that of a full head colour the value for money isn't as good. I would probably consider buying this again, but think I would buy a regrowth spray or cover up powder instead.
I was excited to try this product as I usually just colour my entire head when actually only the roots need doing. This product means I don't have to damage the lengths of my hair by over exposing them to unnecessary dye. Also, the ten minute time frame is a big plus!
This product does have quite a pungeant ammonia scent and my scalp tingled a bit, but that's pretty standard I reckon.
It comes with an applicator brush and mixing tray. I quite liked the brush - it let's you put the dye exactly where it's needed and you can avoid making a mess. The tray was really tricky though - it's a bit flimsy and hard to mix the dye in and it's hard to hold. I prefer a bottle applicator.
The dye itself blended well into my previous colour (which was a Revlon product) - I was worried there would be a line of colour difference. It also seemed to cover my few first greys quite effectively.
Tips: Take care with the mixing tray - it would be easy to have it slip out of your hand and make a big mess!
I had previously used Clairol Nice ‘n Easy in #8 medium blonde, which was awesome, so when I got the invite to trial this product I was super excited. Comes with everything you need, a wee brush, gloves, and a bowl, lots of plastic, unfortunately, but no need to go hunting for supplies. Instructions are pretty simple to follow, though I was immediately disappointed to discover it is meant for your most visible roots. There’s just not enough for your whole head of hair. Makes sense when the product is called “Root Touch Up”, but for some reason I really thought I could do it all. I could not. The product smells as you would expect hair dye to smell. I always dye my hair with a fan on because the fumes sting my eyes. I left the product in for about 15 minutes, and washed it out with my own hair care products as there was nothing left in the box for aftercare. I do like the result, it lightened my darker blonde nicely to blend in with the previous dye job. It was definitely a quick and easy process, though I think the next time I will just got for the whole head of hair so I can do space buns and things without worrying about darker roots.
I recently tried out the Clairol Nice N Easy Root Touch Up Permanent hair color, and overall, my experience was fairly positive. The product comes in a smaller amount compared to full-sized box dyes, which is a plus for me since I've often ended up with excess dye left over from the usual hair dye boxes.
The smaller amount of product was perfect for an "express" root retouch. However, I must mention that if you have a considerable amount of hair and extensive root regrowth, this might not be sufficient to cover your entire head of roots. Those with thick and voluminous hair, like myself, might find the product running out before complete coverage is achieved.
I appreciated the product's inclusion of a list of popular brands and shades that it's intended to match. This can be especially helpful for those who are uncertain about selecting the right shade.
On the downside, the brush included with the kit was a disappointment. The short and dense bristles caused my hair to tangle and become matted, making the application process messy and frustrating. Personally, I'd prefer using the type of brush that hairstylists use, as it offers a smoother and more controlled application. You can get them for a few dollars on TradeMe or at salon supply stores.
The product's grey coverage is really good, effectively concealing my greys without leaving any translucent hairs. This is an essential aspect for root touch-up products, and Clairol Nice N Easy delivers on this front.
The scent of the product was a mixed bag for me. While the floral fragrance was not to my liking, it was reassuring that the scent didn't linger excessively after washing my hair. However, this aspect could still be improved for those with sensitive noses.
In conclusion, Clairol Nice N Easy Root Touch Up Permanent is a convenient solution for in-between full root touch-ups, providing effective grey coverage and targeting specific areas of concern. Despite its positive features, the included brush's shortcomings and the less-than-ideal scent were noticeable drawbacks. I would consider using this product again for touch-ups between full dye sessions, but I would definitely opt for my own dye brush to ensure a smoother application process.
The usual box dye I use is actually cheaper than the Clairol so I would probably only buy it if it was on sale.
Tips: Buy your own dye brush from TradeMe or a salon supply store.
If you have a lot of hair, maybe have a second box on hand in case one box isn't enough.
Consider splitting a normal box of dye with a friend who has the same colour hair as you to save money!
Well this was really better than I was expecting! Very impressive tool to do your roots in this box and the colour was pretty true to what was on the box. The hair wasn't killed it was nice and not too dry, much prefer this than bleach and only issue I had is jot enough of the product to do all my roots sadly. Will buy again but 2 boxes
Tips: Buy 2 boxes to ensure you can color your roots all over
Having coloured my hair for a number of years I was interested to see how Clairol nice n easy root touch up performed. I read the instructions, applying to dry unwashed hair as normal. I applied to the centre parting first then tried to cover as much grey as possible. As I have stubborn grays, I left the solution on for 15 minutes then rinsed and conditioned as instructed. I was pleasantly surprised how well the colour matched with what I had previously used and the quick processing time. I would use again possibly if the price was less than my normal colour, or for a quick touch up!
Tips: Apply to unwashed hair.
This root retouch cream was a nice consistency easy to apply and the little blue application brush is nice to use to paint on the product, the scent wasn’t overpowering like some colours. It covered my greys, I left it on another 5 minutes like it suggested for stubborn greys. Matched and blended my colour well, overall happy with this product maybe a little more would be good.
Tips: With a few minutes to go lightly comb the colour to blend into the old colour.
I've been using root touch up sprays, mascaras etc and they're great if you only need them for a few days, for what I've done with my hair I needed something more permanent.
This is the perfect solution. It lasts about 3 weeks and is super easy to apply. The colour and developer bottles are easily resealed and the brush is easily cleaned dried and stored back in the box. I even use the plastic the brush comes in as a reusable dye tray.
As well as being compact and easy to use, the shade really does match my hair (which I was a little bit skeptical about), so it's also seamless.
I will be using this product for a long time.
If you have used box dye before you will have no trouble with this product. It is only enough for around your face and neck and one or two "parts" of your hair. The enclosed brush is good for parting your hair as needed but I found it was too narrow to be gripped comfortably with gloves and I gave up and just used my gloved hand to apply the dye. Full disclosure - I have no grey and my hair is an dark ash blonde dyed medium brown so my roots aren't glaringly obvious. The results were good - the colour match appeared seamless. I did my first shampoo today and I have a feeling that the colour has already lightened a bit, so I'm not sure how long the colour will stay covering the roots - time will tell. All in all this is a quick fix between colours and the 10 min time to complete the treatment is awesome. I would definitely use this again to make my colour last a bit longer.
