To start off, I have black hair & been dying it auburn/red for the last year. My hair is the most stubborn & even at salons they usually have to bleach & rebleach before dying. So for the last year I've just been using box colour & it gives me that nice shiny redish hair in the sun. The problem with most dark hair is the white hair peaking out on my temples.
So I used 5R Medium Auburn / Reddish Brown Shade.
1st I thought it might be too light, as with my dark hair, it appeared more orange when i started to apply the product.
The brush supplied made it really easy to get to those stubborn roots. The little mixing bowl & gloves worked perfectly well and to mix the permanent colour creme & colour activating lotion was easy as.
I have long hair & after applying to my roots and making sure I have every little white hair possible, there was still a lot mixture left, which i just blended over the rest of my hair.
The product was drip free & the smell was not as over whelming as some products that makes your eyes actually tear up!
The colour actaully worked out beautifully & blended in really well with my darkish red hair.
Overall was really easy to do & I don't know why it took me so long to try this out.
Will I use this inbetween my colouring times? A definately oh hell yes!
I’ve always been looking for a quick and easy way to touch up my grays, this could just be it.
I love that it’s quick, not involving a lot of measuring the product and the brush is super handy as well. The brush makes application precise and accurate.
I left this on for a little longer than 10 mins however it did stain my skin so probably wouldn’t recommend that! The stain it wash off within a couple of days so it’s nothing too concerning.
I’ve had the dye on for almost 2 weeks now and don’t see any grays peeking through so that’s another plus point for me.
I love this because it’s mess free and very easy to patch up those peasky gray hairs.
