Keeps my makeup looking fresh and flawless.shields skin from the dehydrating effects of daily thermic changes that can leave skin looking dry and weathered.i use this daily and highly recommend it.I am a big fan of Clarins products. I don't regret splurging on good Skincare products because I have never been disappointed with the results and have used and been trained/worked for many prestigious brands. I have now completely switched over from Elizabeth Arden Skincare to Clarins but still use Ardens prevage serum weekly and all the claims products I use work well together

Tips: Try the rest of the hydra essential range
I am a big fan of Clarins products. I don't regret splurging on their products because I have never been disappointed with the results. Two years ago I had a massive outbreak on my face particularly forehead and chin. I went to Clarins counter at Farmers and a sweet lady advised me a routine with Clarins products suiting my skin type and possible dehydrated skin condition. She put me up with Hydraquench serum as part of my routine.
My very first face serum. I applied it every day on bare skin morning and night. On application the serum absorbs immediately making my skin feel fresh and soft and didn't leave any oil residue. It smelt great too.
I used this product for over a year and my skin was restored to smooth and flawless face that I had before the outbreak.
Tips: If you have dry dehydrated skin, you won't be disappointed with this product. It will restore your skin in no time.
My daughter-in-law, see below, gifted me most of a 3ml sample which I have used twice daily as my winter skin had many very dry spots. She advised that a little went a long way which proved to be correct. It is a very light oil that spreads easily especially on warmed skin. After 10 days I am thrilled with the difference in my skin as it feels hydrated and all but one dry spot resolved. The easy to use sample bottle with a very fine dropper means you do not waste this product. The cost of this serum would put me off purchasing another by itself but I will definitely look for a special offer as I would love to try the Clarins Hydra Quench Moisturiser in tandem with the serum. I would recommend it to a friend if they had dry skin issues but after what happened to Charly I would suggest they get a trial size first.
Tips: I warmed a facecloth and held it on my face after cleansing before applying the serum.
So as I have said in many of my previous Clarins reviews... I am a sucker for the old gift with purchase (GWP). As soon as I see one I want whatever it takes to get it. Good thing in this case that I was after a few Clarins products anyway. In the GWP this time there was this product in a generous 15ml size, plenty to decide whether you want to repurchase or not.
The packaging is very classy, very Clarins. A blue tinted oval glass container with a white lid. The writing is on white on it. Under the lid there is a wee pump, not a big fan of it as it seems to shoot out heaps of product.
As the name suggests this product is bi-phase. So you need to shake it up to make the two liquids into one. Doesn't take much shaking though so it isn't that much of a pain. You need to pump out a wee bit onto your hand, doesn't take much although my skin just drinks this up super fast. The liquid itself is tinted a tiny bit blue and creamy. The liquid is really thin and smells a wee bit herbal like most Clarins things. This smooths into the skin really nicely and sinks in super fast. I have been using it before moisturiser at night and my skin loves this. I have quite dry skin so that might be why I like it though, if your skin doesn't need too much moisture this might be too much for you.
I don't know if I will repurchase this particular serum as I have so many on the go at the moment and always seem to be testing them out. But I do really like it and wouldn't be upset to get some more in another GWP in the future.
I went to the Clarins counter and was recommended this product after my skin had a complete fit in the middle of winter. i used in conjunction with the hydraquench moisturiser and have had brilliant results.
It's a very liquid product. But a little bit goes a long way when you apply just prior to the moisturizer.
Tips: Warm the product in your hands then pat on your face.
i had major skin problems during my first winter here, my skin was so dry, i was breaking out and flushing all the time. I went to farmers to look for a solution and the friendly lady at the Clarins counter suggested that I use this line. The serum was very liquid and lighter than most oils. it felt velvety to apply and was moisturizing. I used the whole Hydraquench line the whole winter and it calmed my skin. The only reason Im not using this anymore is I am always on the lookout for other products and i love experimenting on skin care.
Tips: really good for dry skin.
WARNING: This product does what it says it does!
I was gifted a large sample of this (3ml) and I was delighted. I figured I would use it when my skin was going through a dry spell, to pump up the hydration. Good plan - but I didn't count on exactly how much hydration it would provide... Every time I used it I broke out! Apparently my combination skin can't HANDLE the moisture!
So while I've scored this product 1/5 for 'would you buy it again?', I think it would be a brilliant product for those with very dry or mature skin. In fact, I'm off to give the rest to my mother-in-law right now!
Tips: Clarins do AWESOME gift with purchase sets so choose your timing carefully when purchasing!
I got given this as a Christmas present and it sat in my drawer for a good few months before I pulled it out and decided to try it. As it was quite a thin product I wasn't too sure how well it would work but after trying it once my mind was changed completely! First of all it has the most beautiful scent and a little goes a long way. I use 2 pumps daily before my morning moisturizer, underneath my regular serum. Its sorted out my dry patches and gives my skin a lovely boost. This has become a staple in my skincare routine and I highly reccomend.
Tips: Pump into hands and rub together to warm up serum before gently patting into the skin for best results.
