My skin can be so annoying. It is either really good or I get spots. I like to try anything I can to combat them. I got this in a trial pack, I find with Clean and Clear their products can be a bit hit or miss for me.
It came in a cute travel size tube with a flip top lid. It has a thick gel consistency and a really medicinal scent to it which I don't really like. As soon as this touches my skin I get a horrible burning sensation and it leaves my face red and angry.
My skin is far too sensitive for this. I definitely recommend you patch test before use or if you have sensitive skin to perhaps just give this a miss.
I bought this in a pack along with the toner and moisturiser to control acne. Stopped using it as the skin on my face got really dry and started flaking. Did control pimples though?
A very thick and cool gel that lathers up with water. The gel is nice and cooling on the pimples... which helps to reduce inflammation around the breakout, but the cooling minty effect is a bit too strong for sensitive areas such as around the eyes. Even though i avoided the eye areas as per instructions, i still felt i had to close my eyes tight due to the menthol-effect. So make sure you do go as far away from those sockets as possible to prevent any discomfort.
It definitely helps with easing sore active growths. I can feel the active area tightening up upon continued use. However, this is a very strong product... although i didn’t find it overly drying for my skin, it may not be suitable for those with sensitive skin for regular use.
I would repurchase this for when i need some good pimple control, but wont be using this like a regular face wash.
Tips: Use the Clean & Clear Spot treatment afterwards for optimal results.
well i didnt really like this it cleared up my spots but my skin didnt like it much i started getting red and flakey all the time so i wont get it. i think my skin was just too sensitive
Clean and clear was a product I tryed out when I was a teen and had acne. I did not like this product, it did tend to make my skin worser, having breakouts and redness show on my face. It also dryed my skin out quite bad, never used ever since
I used this cleanser in conjunction with the C&C advantage pimple control toner and spot clearing gel. (There is a moisturiser also that's part of the kit, but I did not use that product.) While the system is effective in my experience, they are not partciuarly pleasant products to use..
This gel cleanser is very thick, it reminds me of a peel-off face mask and doesn't lather up much. It has a very artificial/chemical smell to it, as do the toner and spot clearing gel.
I get a mild tingling sensation from washing with this cleanser, perhaps due to it containing salicylic acid? If you have sensative skin, I could imagine that this tingling may be a bit more like burning! So I would advise against it in the case of anyone having sensative skin, for me it's not a problem and leaves my skin feeling very clean.
I had felt that this cleanser was bound to be drying, however I haven't experienced that with it.
This cleanser does the job that it's supposed to do. It's not one that I would use reguarly as I prefer something a bit gentler and more natural, and simply don't suffer from severe acne issues. But in the case of the occasional break-out, I will continue to reach for it and would consider repurchasing in future.
I got this in a 90g version as part of the Advantage 4 step kit. The 90g version still has quite a lot of product, and I find one squeeze of this is more than enough for my face, so this lasts a while.
The cleanser comes in a shiny silver and navy packaging, nothing special but the packaging doesn't feel crappy.
The cleanser is a blue liquid that lathers up incredibly well, I find that I end up with more than enough for my skin. This has quite a strong, very chemical kind of scent, which isn't that pleasant. This leaves my skin feeling incredibly dried out, and I have oily skin, so if you want to banish your oily skin, I'd recommend this. The dryness is easily fixed with applying moisturizer afterwards.
This does help to control my acne, so it certainly does what it promises, I haven't noticed a change in the amount of breakouts since using this and it does help to prevent them. However, if you have existing breakouts this doesn't help to clear them as it makes them dry into scabs before they are ready, so the scab peels off early and I'm sometimes left with bleeding acne.
This did an okay job, I've had cleansers do better, and I've had them do worse. I'd recommend this for preventing breakouts and for oily skin, but this doesn't clear existing breakouts well.
I might use this again if it was cheap but I'd prefer to use something more natural first, as I don't think this is good for the skin.
Again I feel so disappointed with this product. I used to break out all the time and found it did not help me at all. I find that this brand dries out my oily skin and is quite harsh on my skin. It didn't help my acne at all.
Like other supermarket products I've bought, I found this one over promised and under delivered. I started using this as part of the 4 step clean and clear advantage system. While the product was perfectly acceptable to use, it didn't really make any difference to my acne. Very underwhelming.
