This moisturizer is always on the list of cult classics however, I personally feel it's extremely overrated. I find this moisturizer really oily and whenever I've used it I've ended up with clogged pores and really noticeable oily skin. My skin does tend to be on the oily side anyway so perhaps this is better for people with dry skin. This seems to be a product that really polarizes people - you either love it or hate it! At the end of the day, there are much better moisturizers out there for a lower price

I purchased this initially for my day moisturiser but ended up using it as a night moisturiser as it is rather heavy and I don't have overly dry skin. I do like this for a night cream but it takes a while to absorb and leaves your face a bit oily for a while. It does last a long time for the price, I only need to use one pump to moisturise my whole face and it has lasted me ages! I use the gel as a day cream instead as I prefer to use a lighter moisturiser that absorbs quickly to do my makeup in the morning.
Tips: Perfect for dry skin or as a night cream but recommend the gel for oilier skin types or a day cream.
This moisturizer didn't suit my skin... I had a lot of break outs and my skin was very oily when using it
They've been making this moisturiser for decades and it appears they haven't changed the ingredients or packaging. It must have a loyal following, but I reckon moisturisers have come a long way ... it's think and yellow and expensive, and is supposed to be used with toner which people don't really do anymore - remember the old 3 step cleanse, tone, moisturise.. do they still sell that yellow cake of soap in a green container to wash your face? When I was 15 that was the pinnacle of luxury skin care to me :-)
Tips: If you aren't already a loyal user why would you?
I recently had a friend head over to the States who kindly offered to bring some stuff back for me so saw it as the opportunity to pick up some Clinique as its so expensive over here and boy I was not disappointed. I suffer from extremely dry patches combined with oily skin so my struggle is finding a moisturiser that combats the dryness without making me too greasy and this is it! I've been using it for a week and my skin hasn't felt or looked this great in years.
I got a bottle of this from my sister for a birthday, and I so wanted to love it because for some reason I fell irreconcilably in love with the shape and colour of the bottle. Unfortunately, that was it for the love affair with this product. My skin is always dry, and I always need gentle but super moisturising products to address that. The more I used this, the drier my skin seemed to get and in the end I gave up. It might just be my skin, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with problematic dryness - I think it might just be too harsh for us delicate ones!
I used to use this years ago when I got put onto Clinique by someone. The only things to have changed is they occasionally put this in a tube, made a gel version, have added a pump option to the bottle and added a + to this. It is still the same yellow colour it was back then. The best part is, it doesn't seem to have changed in that time.
This is a lotion and seems easily absorbed by the skin. There is no scent on this that I can detect. This isn't a thin liquid nor is it really thick but a happy middle of the road balance. I apply after cleansing, toning, serum routine. I have normal combination skin, so it moisturised where needed but nothing that some less pricey brands would do at a slightly cheaper cost. The pump option measures how much to use, so no guessing, and it does make it more hygienic if you are sharing this with your teenager or significant other steals it.
Would I purchase again probably not for a while but I will always take it in a GWP.
I received a deluxe sample of this as part of a Clinique GWP. Although my skin is normal/breakout prone, I found that this was a nice amount of hydration for my skin during the day- not too heavy or too light. I used this after experiencing a reaction to another skincare product and I found this nourished my skin without feeling like it would be too rich on my blemishes.
I will continue to use this tube which should last me another month, but am not sure if I would repurchase a full tube at full price. I would be more inclined to purchase if it had SPF as I find it annoying remembering to use SPF before applying. I think perhaps if you have very dry skin that this wont be hydrating enough, perhaps this should be targeted more towards normal/oily skin.
This moisturiser is ok, I never have got a wow feeling when using this. I found that I needed to use a serum to get the extra hydration to see me thru to the end of the day when wearing make-up. It did leave my skin feeling comfortable after applying and half way thru the day, but I noticed the busier I was the more my skin seemed to tighten, which I have not experienced with other moisturisers. I just felt that this didn't really do much for my skin or live up to the 'Moisture drink" claim. I have normal skin with a oily t zone, so thought this product would be suitable for my skin. Even though is was ok, I felt it did the same as a moisturiser that I could buy from the supermarket for $15. The packaging is simple but easy to use. The pump is awesome so you never use too much product and very hygienic.
All in all it is ok, would I buy again... on the fence.
I came across this when I was in my early 20's and now I'm near the end of my 40's. I have never had anyone guess my age. I've got from early 30's and sometimes even in my late 20's . I love the pump bottle. A little is all you need and it definitely goes a long way. I've got sensitive skin and because it's fragrant free it doesn't react. Have tried clarians but it gives me a headache from all the perfume. I love how it is light and doesn't feel heavy on my skin. Love this product. Can't imagine using anything else
Tips: Get the pump bottle. Makes it easier to apply and keeps the product clean
