I heard about how great these lipsticks were and how they were super cheap. I made a purchase off the website and use Youshop to get them into New Zealand. It took about a month for them to arrive. I brought 11 lippie stixs. They had so many amazing colours and different range. The smell of the lippie stixs are amazing, they have a smell of vanilla. They are really creamy even the matte shades. I wasn't to impressed by the fact that after about 20 or so minutes of wearing the lippie stix I would have a line on my lips, a build up of the lippie stix and would need to re-apply or try to remove the build up which I found to be tricky. I love the colours and how creamy the lippie stixs are but I wouldn't recommend these to a friend.

Colour pop is a new range that seems to have a lot of hype surrounded by it. Anyway before I became aware of this new sensation I was a girl who liked to shop in store. Until recently I have discovered that you can get some awesome deals with online shopping. I was given three lippy stix as a present. Funny thing before I was given them, I had been going on the colour pop website day dreaming about them. I saw that they were $5 us; seemed like one hell of a bargain.
Packaging comes in this stick, with this holographic Colour pop down the side. Looks pretty cool. White plastic sized pens. I take the lid off it, to find the tip is same colour as the lip stick inside , good idea! When I wind it up I'm quite surprised at the thickness of it. It's quite thin. The scent of it reminds me of a vanilla ice cream. Smells so good. The colours I was given was Tuxedo, Lady Matte and Tutu matte. The texture of them is smooth and surprisingly not drying. The colour in these are so rich and vibrant. Unfortunately it didn't have much staying power. There definitely was Colour pop.
My results of using these products for over a couple of weeks now. I absolutely love them. I would love to try some more products from colour pop. The smell of them are so yummy! I think their pretty good.
When they were first launched, I was really excited and I ordered a number of different shades. Online shopping has its down sides and it is the shade not matching what I see on the computer screen. Anyways the formula was really nice and creamy, but that wasn’t the case for all of the shades and finishes I’m afraid. And once it has gone past it’s use-by date, the smell goes off and the formula goes weird too.
Tips: Don’t buy heaps at a time unless you can use them up within 6 months or something. Otherwise it will go to waste
I did a massive order on Colourpop as a treat to myself, unfortunately only a handful of the things I received I actually liked. The Lippie Stix were some of those. I brought the shades "Skimpy" and "Oh Snap" They wear nicely on and are hydrating and pigmented. I found one of major issues with most of the lip products I brought was the color variation, I looked online and at numerous reviews and swatches for these colors and then when they arrived most of them looked completely different, which I understand a slight change between online vs in person but these shades looked nothing similar. So most of the shades I received didn't suit me and as a result have put me off the brand and products a bit, even though these lippie stix are good quality - especially in regards to their pricing and they go on well and continuously wear well on the lips.
Tips: Be aware of shade variations.
I have these in Westie and Lumiere. Firstly, the scent. It's meant to be vanilla, but it just reminds me of crayons. Cheap crayons. But you don't get that smell once the lipstick is applied.
The lipstick lasts really well. Westie is what I would call a warm baby pink, and Lumiere pulls plum on me. They are creamy for a matte and don't tug at your lips to apply.
The pen size makes them easy to find in a large handbag too. And you cannot argue with the price or the shipping to NZ.
I don't always reach for these lipsticks and I don't know why. I would like to try some more shades however.
Tips: Signing up for the newsletter gets you $5 off your first order, which is a free Lippie Stick. Winning!
I loved the amount of colours I could pick from the website, and the amount of product was more than I was expecting. The last power isnt as great as i would like it to be and the matte can be slightly drying on my lips. I found that they worked just as well without a lip liner which was great, but the smell was not my favourite.
Tips: If you arent a fan of fragrances in makeup be wary of the smell.
After seeing all the reviews online and the unbelievable prices I just had to pick up some products! These Lippie Stix are only USD$5 each which is amazing. I joined in on an order with some friends though as the shipping can be quite expensive. I picked up two shades, Lumiere and Frida. Frida I picked up solely because my favourite artist is Frida Kahlo, I would have picked that one up no matter the shade!
The Lippie Stix's come in six different finishes; Cream, Glossy, Hyper-Glossy, Matte Pearlized, and Satin. I picked up Frida, a satin finish. It is a warm mid tone nude pink with a satin finish and is one of the shades created by Youtuber 'Coffee Break with Dani'. The Lumiere is a matte finish. It is a dusty mauve pink in a matte finish created by the YouTuber Kathleen Lights. I don't currently watch either of the YouTubers but I love that Colourpop collaborates with heaps of Youtubers as it is a nice way of bringing that community together (and marketing gold).
The packaging for these is lovely. I really like the white tubes... although they do kind of remind me of applicator tampons, but not enough to put me off. I really like the holographic print on them although on one that has been in my pocket for a while the writing has rubbed off. At the end of the lippy it has the shade of the lipstick which is one of my all time favourite things in a lippy. The lid has a excellent click to it so there is never any worry about it coming off. The part that twists to bring more lippy up is also coloured the same as the lippy which is a nice touch.
The lippy itself is much thinner than I would expect for a usual lippy but obviously big enough to do the job. Both of these go on to the lips very smoothly. They feel very comfortable on the lips, not drying or sticky. The wear time of these isn't outstanding, they last around 2 -3 hours and fade with drinking and eating, but I don't expect much more out of a lippy.
To be honest (which you would hope I was being), I don't think I will be purchasing more of these. I do love the packaging but there is nothing special about these that I can't get in another product, unless I fall in love with a specific shade.
After watching a huge haul and swatch video (*ahem* maybe four *ahem*) I decided to test these out after the rave review. I bought six - Cookie, Lumiere, Bound, LBB, Frida and Button.
I like the cute packaging, it's a point of difference and adds to the cute "Lippie Stix" title (which two separate people thought that I was just getting tongue tied over saying) The holographic label is sparkly and fun.
They are all gorgeous colours, great pigmentation, go on beautifully and smell yummy too! My favourite is Lumiere, I start the night out with NARS Anna on - but I take Lumiere out with me (I would be less upset to lose it and it's a perfect dupe)
The staying power for me for these hasn't been great. Some only last an hour or two, and transfer quite easily. But I'm happy to tote them along for reapplication. I was too cheap to buy the pencils - so they may have better staying power when lined with the lip pencil first.
I will definitely still be keeping my eyes peeled for new colours, the price point makes them worth not worrying about the short staying time for me.
Tips: Lumiere really is a great dupe for NARS Anna, just without the staying power.
Everyone has heard about the colour pop craze, and for good reason! They are affordable, come in an amazing range of colours, and they ship to New Zealand , who would have thought.
These lippie stix (i hate the name.. just saying), come in a plastic cylinder, with a cap that just pops off. The end off the cylinder has a colour edge so you can easily see which colour is which.
The colours i have are westie, bound & Lumiere. Firstly these smell nice and slightly sweet and the colours are gorgeous. As well as colourpop having a great range of colours, they also have an amazing range of finishes. The colours i got are really pigmented, and apply so smoothly giving even coverage. Seriously, the first time i used these i was in awe. However, the product does not wear well, (although using it with the liner does help). But when you have to use a liner with this product, it makes that a $10 usd purchase, for not a whole lot of product.
Overall, these are nice lipsticks, with a great range and a good price tag. They are not long wearing, but for $5 (usd), who can complain.
Like anyone that watches youtube, I have been curious about these as they have been receiving so much hype. Initially I ignored the hype but started to listen to it when I saw friends talk about how much they liked these. I went on to Colourpop's site and ordered Pitch and their Forget the Fruit Cake set which has 6 lippie stix.
Pitch is a matte, medium brown. This is by far my favourite lippie stick. The colour payoff is good but the wear time isn't. It lasts around 2-3 hours on my lips before needing a serious reapplication. Their mattes aren't super matte as they are very hydrating, so they slide around a bit.
Cookie is a beautiful beige nude Matte. Good pigmentation but the lasting time isn't fantastic.
Confetti is a bright orange red with a glossy finish. This is super comfortable and pigmented but the wear time is again, disappointing. I am lucky to get 2 hours out of this before needing to reapply.
The other shades in the set are as follows (I haven't worn them as I intend to gift these to a friend),
Tuxedo - a super glossy lipstick, is is neon pink.
Cheers is a deep red matte
Tutu is another matte that is a dark, dark red
Lady is a deep raspberry/purple matte.
You may be fooled into thinking that these are great bang for your buck. I was. At only $5US each, these seem like a great price yeah? Well actually they work out quite expensive... You get 1gm of product per lippie, whereas Jordana lipsticks for example have 3.4gms and cost less than these. This may seem nit picky but I like to get the best bang for my buck and I feel that these are a little deceptive. Also the postage costs from the site are - quite frankly, extortionate. If you plan on ordering from here I recommend you either do a large order to make the postage costs worth it, or order with a friend so you can split the costs.
The packaging is kind of ugly in my opinion. These come in a long white tube with the colour at the end. I like that they're colour coded but the long white tube reminds me of old school tampons. Colourpop is on the side of the tube in holographic type which is one thing I like about the packaging.
These twist up and are angled like a lipstick so applying them is super easy. They have lids which is great for hygiene purposes.
Overall I am very much 'meh' about these. When I first got them I thought they looked amazing, and Pitch is a gorgeous colour. But after using them for a while and having explored them a bit more I won't purchase them again and I wouldn't recommend them to a friend. It isn't that they are bad products, I just think that for the price you can get something else just as decent (if not better).
