I am a massive fan of Colorpop and especially love their lippy's. There are so many colours to choose from and I tend to sway more toward both the dark and bright reds and browns. They are moisturising and long wearing and the best thing about these are that they are affordable!
Tips: For longer lasting colour ensure after you first apply your lippy you blot your lips and reapply a second coating x
i love these! i have a few that i ordered at the start of the year and i liked them but i found them very drying and kind of difficult to apply, but i was recently ordering and thought i would give them another go and found that they seem to have changed their formula because they glide on so easy, are not as drying as they used to be and last so long!
all i can say is i need more!! i just got one to try and i'm addicted. i got Luniere which is a matte hippie stick. it smells like vanilla and chocolate and caramel and really nice lip balms, hahaha. it's non-drying on me. true to colour on my lips (as in i don't have to pale out my lips pigment to see the try colour of the lippie). it's fast and easy to reapply after a meal. it is transferable...but hey, it's honestly no biggy xx
Tips: wipe out that inner hippie rim of your lips by putting your finger in-between your lips and pull it out. this will help stop the transfer of lippie onto your water bottle ;-)
My collection of Matte and Matte X lippie stix now included over 20 shades and I love them all.
The small tube size is perfect for smaller lips and the shape allows for extreme precision and a tidy lip line.
The formulas of the matte and matte x lippie sticks is comfortable on the lips and long lasting. But be aware that any oily or hot food with melt your lipstick.
I love the cheap price point that has allowed me to buy shades I am not sure about to try with out worrying about wasting lots of money on a product I might never wear.
Color pop now does free shipping to NZ if you spend over 50 usd. This is the best way to do things otherwise the shipping is a bit expensive.
Tips: Buy the matching lip liner if that is your way of doing things.
Buy everything now!! I absoutly love these lippie stixs! They are cheap, easy to use, so many amazing formulas (matte X are my fav) and the colours are continuously changing! There is always a formula and shade to suit anyone! And I dont get too mad if I loose one on a night out because they aren't expensive!
Tips: Wait until they have free shipping internationally or go in with your mates and buy a whole lot!
From their pretty packaging to the variety of shades available all with their cute names, Colourpop are killing the lipstick race, having purchased a number of them when they first appeared on my radar around 18 months of more ago to my recent orders I have never had a bad lippie stix
Designed to be small enough to carry with you anywhere, you can even slip this pen shaped lipstick into your pocket without even noticing it is there. Colour formula is perfect, with all formats having an easy to apply creamy texture that dries to whatever setting, from creme, satin, to glossy and matte all of them are great. Pigmentation is also on point with a swipe around once giving you full opaqueness, even with the sheer shades you don't need to build them up, but if you want to they won't resist.
Lasting a few hours depending on the finish, with the mattes lasting almost all day with only minimal top ups required, satins keep your lips hydrated and need to reapplied a couple of times, same for the creme and glossy version. Mattes stay matte without drying, glossy stay glossy without going sticky and if blotted the colour stays on your lips but the gloss blots. Perfect!
I have this in the shade button, which I got as part of a gift pack. It's a gorgeous peachy nude shade perfect for everyday where.
I love how the packaging is like a pen and the small tip allows for really controlled application. It glides on smoothly and is well pigmented. I find its lasting power to be average but not incredible. There is definitely some transferring going on when I drink.
There's a lot of hype about how cheap these are and how they're super worth the money but I had a google and to me it's not that cheap. The actual amount of product you get is only 1g, considering a normal lip balm is about 3-4 grams. Although mine is only halfway through and I've used it quite a couple times, I can imagine it running out very quickly if you use it regularly.
Part Foul Lippie Stix, a rich mauve shade, almost Are and Be's twin. This lippie stix is soft and silky in texture when applied to the lip. Dries matte without over drying the lip. Definitely transfers so be careful if you touch your mouth, have it handy when you eat as you'll need to touch it up. It isn't a major downfall , and it doesn't go everywhere but it does shift.
I found this a little stubborn to remove after 8 hours, my best tip is to use a makeup remover balm on a damp cloth.
Longevity of this product was amazing. I've worn it for a short amount of time and for much longer periods of up to 8 hours. I didn't mind really touching up the Lippie Stix if I needed to but if you want one that doesn't shift and stays put these probably aren't best for you x
Matched with a lip liner there is no feathering or bleeding it sits beautifully on the lip.
The one thing I sort if dislike is the shape of the tip! I mean, personally? I can't apply it directly to my lips using it. I need to use a brush to help get the right application. I think if it was a little more rounded it'd be perfect.
Tips: Be sure to match it with a lip liner xz
I have two of the matte shades: Lumiere & Brink. I really enjoy the packaging of these, they come in a long thin tube with a twist up top. The bottom of the tubes show the colour so they are easy to identify. The lids click on very securely which is a plus, and I find the smaller size of the bullet makes a precise application easier than usual.
I can't speak for the other finishes but the pigmentation of the mattes I have is great, you get full opacity in one swipe and I haven't had any streakyness with the colours I own. They do have a slight crayon type smell to them but its only noticeable if you're actually trying to smell it.
The wear time on these is what has really impressed me. These last until at least lunch time without needing to be touched up (about 5 hours), and when I have eaten or drank something they don't move much and I find a good amount of colour is still on my lips.
Overall, definitely worth it for the cost of these.
Tips: Consider using Youshop for shipping larger orders, as shipping directly can get pricey.
