Great Pigmentation Shadows

After seeing all the hype on Youtube & Instagram . . . and once I saw Shaaanxo post on facebook that she collaborated with them and they were finally going to ship to NZ I jumped on that!!! I ordered Shaaanxo foursome and 2 singles Truth & Amaze. Have more on the way. These shaows are sooo super buttery to touch and blend so well. I am super impressed with the pigmentation of what I have seen so far and excited to try more shades. For the price point of these and the quality you get with them, they are an absolute steal!!!!

Tips: Apply when you can with fingers for better pigmentation pay-off. Or use a synthetic eye brush to apply.

Buy them now!

I love the packaging of these shadows, they are all individual sleek white pots with a clear plastic top to view the shades.

I own the Shaaanxo x colourpop set and have a few more on their way! The texture of these shadows are out of this world its a creamy almost mousse like texture, so soft and buttery! I love that they are super pigmented and easy to blend, I prefer to apply with my fingers and buff out if required.

The available colour range is amazing everything from mattes, to glitters from neutrals to bold colours. Once you purchase your first lot you will be running to add more to your cart!

The price is amazing, the only downside is the shipping can get a bit expensive as it is all calculated by weight.

Absolute BARGAIN!

I bought six of these since I felt like throwing all caution to the wind. The colours I got are:

Meow - a marbled grey, black, white and pink with a whole lot of fine glitter thrown in the mix. Goes on quite dark and really sparkly but such a nice colour for a vampy look.

Fringe - is a light gold shimmery colour.

La La - is a peachy nude. Good as a base colour or a simple wash to even out skin tone on your eyelids.

Hanky Panky - is a medium brown, really nice to go through the crease to add a bit of definition.

Bill - a dark chocolate brown. Goes great as an eyeliner too.

Cop A Feel - a metallic copper colour which is AMAZING for blue eyes.

The texture of these eyeshadows is nothing I've seen before. It's a 'mousse' type of texture when you touch it but goes on like a powder. Don't press too hard though! The shadows aren't 'hard packed'. If you dip your brush in too hard, it leaves a dent pretty easy so if you drop them, I'd hate to think what they end up like. Which is probably why I've not given it a full rating.

The pigmentation is amazing for a product that's so affordable. These will be a restock item in my collection for sure.

Tips: Use your fingertip to get the best pigmentation, otherwise a synthetic brush is ideal. It can clog in your brush if you press too hard though.

Sequin and Krinkle

After seeing all the reviews online and the unbelievable prices I just had to pick up some products! The eyeshadows are only USD$5 each which is awesome. I joined in on an order with some friends though as the shipping can be quite expensive. I picked up two shades, 'Sequin' and 'Krinkle'. Make sure you look up swatches and reviews before purchasing as the shades on the website aren't exactly the same as the shadows themselves, although I still really love the shades I got.

The packaging of this actually feels very high-end (not even just from the price). I love the white plastic with a shine-y finish. The clear lid shows the colour through it. On the top is says Colourpop in holographic writing. The lid can be put on very tightly which is great as that is what they advise due to the formulation of the product.

These shadows are super creamy! The first time I swatched them I was amazed at how buttery they were. The colour payoff depends on what you use to apply. I find a synthetic brush is best to get a good payoff and to blend. But if you want a serious amount of colour just use your finger to pat on the colour like you would a cream shadow. When they arrive they have a raised pattern on them, but that disappears really quickly after the first couple of uses.

Sequin - This is a copper penny shade which has an amazing finish. They call it a metallic shade and it is definitely that! It leaves an almost foiled look on the eyes that is really amazing. I love it on my blue eyes as I feel like it really makes them pop.

Krinkle - This is a smokey blue shade with plenty of glitter in. It is also a metallic shade, with the same foil finish. I realised that I didn't have any blue shadows so I grabbed this one. It is quite a dark shade so great for a smokey type of eye.

I do find the wear time on these pretty good. They can last a full day on me without any fading. I do have to be careful not to put too much of a thick layer on close to the crease as I find it creases really badly if I do. But if I make sure to blend into the crease rather than pat on their it works find.

The finish of these products is not like anything else I own, maybe because of the amount of glitter in them! But in saying that I am excited to try out some of the other formulas without glitter to see if they are just as good as I would love a natural colour to wear all over the lid.

Pigmented Perfection

Colour Pop cosmetics caught my eye a few months ago with their incredible colour selection, pigmented products and affordable prices. The pictures I had seen and reviews I had read were fab, so with reasonably pricey shipping I stocked up. I ordered directly from the Colour Pop website and my order took 14 days to arrive. The products arrived with an incredible amount of packaging around them, so there was no way that they could arrive damaged. The packaging of the actual products is fresh, practical and sturdy. It's nothing fancy, but it suits the products perfectly.

The Colour Pop Super Shock Shadows are beautiful. There is so much glistening, foil shimmer that is so finely milled that they look far more expensive than they actually are. These products are incredibly pigmented. . every single one of them. When applied to the eye area they only loose a small amount of pigmentation. I prefer to apply the shadows with my finger to retain pigmentation and allow for easier blending. The formula of the shadows is somewhere between a cream and a powder, which is hard to explain. They are buttery and thick, but are not entirely a cream formula. If you love the Maybelline Colour Tattoos, you will love these. I do prefer to combine these with the Naked 3 palette, as I find the Naked 3 formulas easy to blend around the edges.

There is only a very small amount of product compared to the size of the packaging, but because they are so pigmented a little goes a long way. They are absolute value for money, and it is the perfect way to experiment with new colours. I 100% recommend these shadows and I will give a small description of the shades I purchased below:

Girly: This had been my most used shade as it is the perfect everyday colour for the inner corner of my lid. It is a pearly cream shade that opens the eyes and looks fresh and, well, girly.

Get Lucky: This is the most beautiful, but less wearable shade. It is pure, pigmented gold with a foil finish. It transfers incredibly well to the lid, but gold isn't a shade that I wear everyday.

Liberty: Liberty is an incredible metallic silver. I find that this is the most pigmented of the shades, and I truly can't believe how bold it is. Whilst I am not usually a silver girl, this shade has enticed me.

Rex: This is a navy shade with a sea blue glitter running through it. I love this colour when swatched, but I don't find it particularly wearable. It doesn't work as a liner, which a lot of other navy shadows do. It is a messy shade.

Game Face and On the Rocks: These shades are very similar and I would recommend only purchasing one. They are both bronze shades, with On the Rocks being a little more brown and Game Face a little more gold.

La La and Amaze: Again, these shades are very similar and I would recommend purchasing only one. They are both light bronzes, with La La being a tiny bit darker.

Tips: Apply with fingers rather than a brush.

Best cream eyeshadow out there

I hands down love almost everything that Colourpop has put out and own probably 70% of the range now! I got addicted to the eyeshadows after trying the Shaaanxo collab set of quad eyeshadows.

Design wise these cute little individual eyeshadows come in a little round plastic white pot with the clear acrylic insert lid that has the word Colourpop stamped on top in a holographic font, the lid is a screw top type that has a really secure tight fitting which is essential as these creamy shadows would dry out extremely fast if exposed to the air for long periods of time. Inside the pots these velvety creamy shadows are packed with a pattern on top that looks like scales as in fish scales which makes me think of mermaids and who doesn't love mermaids!! Unfortunately the pattern is short lived as it is just a light indent on the shadow surface, once you are in to the shadow using it the texture means the pattern rubs off fast, normally in 1 to 2 uses.

Texture wise as I have said it is creamy and velvet to the touch when applying using your fingertip. It is very long lasting with the colour staying true to the colour in the pot all day, it doesn't smudge once on but it can be a little fickle to blend as it is a cream shadow and they tend to be a little harder to blend than powder shadows. All the colours I own have great pigmentation even in the pastel shades but using a eyeshadow primer just makes the colours more intense and vibrant.

Colours currently owned (at time of review, no doubt there will be more - I haven't given details per shade as there is far too many)

Lala (use almost daily as it is shimmer perfection!!!) Krinkle, Shameless, In a Pickle, Rex, Drift, Bandit, Fringe, Envy, Daddy, Flux, Snapdragon, Cowboy, Acorn

Application wise I use both finger tip and brush depending on what I want to achieve with the shadows, using a brush gives a more sheer effect where you can pack the colour for a more vibrant pop with your fingertip

Tips: Be careful these are super soft and will get damaged if you go heavy handed into them, also never leave a lid off for extended periods of time they will dry out and become unusable.

Simply stunning...

I ordered 4 lippie stix and 4 super shock shadows from the Colourpop website.

First off, prices. The cost was US$40 for the products, plus US$20 shipping, which seems excessive, but seeing as cosmetics are usually more expensive in NZ anyway, it was a pretty good deal! Total cost including shipping was about NZ$75, so it was under NZ$10 per item - so don't let the shipping put you off!

Packaging is cute. Love the holographic fonts. It's simple and white and clean looking.

The colours I ordered are:

Smash - A warm brown beige with gold undertones in a satin finish. This was my least favourite shadow, it just doesn't show up on my skin tone once it's on my eyes. I bought it for a crease colour, but it just blends out on my eyes. Does leave a nice sheen though.

Get Lucky - Most beautiful gold metallic shade! So super pigmented and it looks like liquid gold on your eyes. A true yellow gold.

Game Face - An ultra-metallic finish, a beautiful bright copper shade. This is the most pigmented out of the lot.

So Quiche - This is my favourite! A metallic olive with flecks of brown, pinks, purples. So hard to describe but it is just beautiful! I like this all over my lid it makes my grey eyes pop!

The formulas are like a powder-slash-mousse consistency, cool to the touch. As they recommend, it is easier and colour payoff is better when using fingers to apply.

I am keen to get this whole collection, some of the best shadows I have ever used, worth the hype and worth the price!!

Insane colour pigment!

These little beauties were pointed out to me by BR friends. I went and ordered online.

The packaging is all super cute and simple. White, twist off lid, see through lid to show the colour with a flat bottom.

When you look at the shadow it's pressed with a pattern. If you swipe your finger over its creamy and feels soft. if you push your finger in it would hit the bottom. It's not hard pressed if that makes sense. So when you use a brush so softly first.

Envy is a really dark purple almost black shade. It has a gold like glitter through it. It doesn't drop out of the colour which is great. It looks fab when you do a smokey eye. It's classed as a metallic shade.

Bandit is a light brown with one swipe. Easy to be built up to a chocolate colour. It has a very slight shimmer. Not noticeable when you wear it. It's classed as Matte.

Drift is a burgundy with a burgundy shimmer. It's gorgeous. If you use one swipe it's a raspberry pink. Builds up dark and vibrant. It's classed as pearlized shade.

All of these last all day, don't drop or slide off the eye. Easy to remove with makeup remover. Even these are cheap they are expensive to have shipped. Find a friend to order with. They are totally worth every cent

My New Must-Have

Wow. Where have these been all my life? Well, considering the company is only a year old, I should really say 'where have these been for the last eleven months of my life?'. My new obsession, to the point that I purchase a cart and have another cart immediately on the go.

First of all, the price is great (even with the exchange rate) for this kind of quality product. The packaging is nice and simple - a white circular plastic screw-top holder with clear top and the brand name written on it. But inside, oh it's gooooold.

The texture is interesting, quite moussey. I've attempted application with brushes, but my finger works best, and I just use a blender brush at the end. The colour is super pigmented, whether I'm using a pale colour, a dark brown, or something inbetween it goes on smoothly and 'pow's me with colour. You don't need a lot to make an impact, especially with the more metallic shadows.

The only thing I don't like? ...Is how my finger smudges the pretty pattern away.

I own nine shades at the moment, and the way I'm going I'll probably own 90 by the end of the year. (Do they even have that many?! I hope so!)

One Day, I Bought a Quad.

Kathleenlights' quad, to be more specific. Long story short, I paid $42 for this quad. Unnecessary, now that I look back on it, but to me the quality of these shadows are so good that it was worth it, in a way.

Cute, simple packaging that still manages to stand out. A white screw top jar with the Colourpop logo written on it in gold writing and the top is clear so you can see what colour is inside.

They have so many finishes, but this quad had 2 mattes, one pearlized and one metallic. Every shadow is perfection. Incredibly pigmented, the 2 non matte shades are beautifully shimmery without any chunks of glitter in them and the matte shades blend gorgeously as long as you use a synthetic brush. The texture of these shadows is extremely unique, halfway between a powder and a cream. They go on like a powder, so don't worry about it being too creamy, but when you put your finger into the pot you can leave little squishy indents in the product. To me, this texture is just so fun, but it also makes the shadows AMAZINGLY smooth and they have almost no fall out. It is best to use your fingers for packing it on the lid, because of the texture, that's how you get the best pigment. However like I said, if you use a synthetic brush to take them in the crease, it works beautifully.

I want more and more and more of these shadows. They're stunning and even though I'm usually a palette lover, these singles are not to be missed. Plus they're incredible value, even if the shipping is a little steep sometimes.

Tips: Keep the lid tightly shut so that the shadows don't dry out. And do not try to de-pot them... ever.
