My very first NARS product and what made me realise that NARS = quality and was worth the price tag it carries. Even though I still only have one of these Velvet lip pencils I do plan on purchasing more soon.
Shade: Bahama
This lip pencil is chunkier than normal lip pencils that I have previously used, its barrel is coated with a black easy to grip coating and the end displays the colour of liner inside. This lip pencil isn’t automatic so you have to sharpen it when you need to which is a pain if you don’t have the right sharpener but luckily another brand sharpener that has the chunky and slim pencil function fitting perfectly. The actual pencil liner surround is black too not the normal tanned colour some cheaper lip liners have. Not crumbly when apply or when sharpening but I do keep all my pencils be it lip liners or eye liners out of direct sunlight to keep their temperatures lower preventing them from colour fade and going soft. The texture of this pencil is as it is named, velvety and glides on along your own lip line easily, having a good grip to the barrel also means it allows you to easily overdraw your lips if you feel the need to as well as the chunkiness and smooth application allows you to infill your lips quickly and effortlessly too. No dragging or colour clumping on my lips but of course this is down to how you look after your lips, if you have dry lips with flaky pieces then it’s going to clump there. Bahama the shade I own is a fawn brown, almost nude colour on the side of brown so is quite adaptable to many lipstick shade matching.
This liner also doesn’t feather, or bleed, it smudges whilst applying if you want it too but will stay put if you don’t disturb it, once set it doesn’t smudge at all. It also never faded massively throughout the day and I still saw faint remnants of it as i was taking my make up off. This is an awesome pencil for lining you lips prior to lipstick or just on its own use with a coat of gloss to finish. Highly recommend.
