I was given an Art Deco Art Couture Lipstick as a present and was quite impressed with it. The shade was Red Muse or something similar. The lipstick came in the bullet type style (which is my lipstick shape preferrence) with the ARTDECO brand name stamped into the lipstick. That I felt was a waste of production time and lipstick but not a huge factor in my overall opinion.
The lipstick upon application was creamy and well pigmented. It also lasted a decent amount of time which is something I want a lipstick to achieve.
The packaging for this lipstick was plainer than I expected with the black tube, I expected them to play on the art deco theme a little more. But the factor that sold this lipstick for me was that it had a bit more endurance than most lipsticks I've used.
Very occasionally, I'll come across a product I have nothing negative or even on the fence to say about. This is one of those.
First off, I believe I have this in Velvet Graceful Rose. I'll put it out here that I have olive skin that looks dark despite me actually being as pale as I can get (skintone yay) but on top of that, I have naturally very dark lips. I have tried many lipsticks of varying colours and finishes. This is one of the two I feel I can wear on their own. It's a deep rose on the cool side and it compliments my lips perfectly like few other lipsticks do.
As for the formula, it's creamy and has a satin finish. I can apply on my lips and blot it with a tissue and that would last me a good few hours unless I'm doing a lot of talking and/or eating. Lipliner would help but I found if I applied it that way, it still looks great and a little more natural.
Would I buy this again? Absolutely. I'd actually love to have this for many years to come. It's so incredibly hard to find a lipstick that works for me both colour and formula wise and this one has nailed it.
