Carousel Cosmetics Lipstick

I have this lipstick in 'Island Punch', a very vivid shade of purple that's almost blue in tone. I really wanted to love this on the strength of the colour, but the formula just doesn't seem to be a great fit for me.

It's a matte lipstick, but I found it a little too chalky in texture. I felt like it was a little too thick and dry, and sort of dragged on to my lips messily. Admittedly I do get better results with a brush. On the plus side, it's very long wearing on me but very drying.

The packaging is simple but great. The lid feels like it clicks on very securely compared to some other brands. There's nothing worse than finding a linty ruined lipstick without its lid in your bag!

This gets an intermediate score from me. The colour and wear is amazing, but I just don't like how this one feels on my lips.

Tips: Definitely use a lipliner, brush and a good lip balm with this one for better results.

Beautiful but bold

I was purchasing some things from beauty bliss and this lipstick popped up, I have never tried any carousel products so oopps into the shopping cart it went.

I love the packaging of this lipstick it's a square tube with the carousel logo on the lid, it's a really heavy weighty little tube that I love I feel like I won't break it with my fumble fingers!

The lipstick itself hasn't got a nice point at the tip, it's more round, now it's probably fine for those that are blessed with bigger lips but for my tiny lips I get a fair amount around my lips I feel like I really have to concentrate when I apply it.

I love the creamy texture of this lipstick, it feels quite moisturising. This lipstick doesn't wear off easily it stays on for hours even slightly staining the lip after its worn off.

I have the colour cotton candy which is a bright pink colour it's very similar to Max Factor's pomegranate. I would definitely buy more if the colours weren't so bright this one is very bright and has to be worn with caution on me.

That's What She Said!

I am crazy obsessed with cute packaging beauty products, so when a product that came in such a simple and boring packaging, you know how I would react lol. But, don't ever judge a book by its cover!!!

I may not be a fan of the packaging, (ohh give them a break Kay! Carousel Cosmetics is only just starting out!!) but I am a huge fan of the lipstick formula and it's longevity! Seriously amazingly long lasting!

I have the lipstick shade That's What She Said!, it appears as a pretty Barbie pink color from the bullet and once applied on the lips, it shows up as a fuschia / darker pink.

The pigmentation is like... WOW! FREAKING AMAZINGLY PIGMENTED! (sorry, im not yelling, im just really happy haha). The lipstick texture is creamy and it applies smooth and even. It doesn't bleed or smear and lasted up to 7 hours for me (the longest I have worn it), after I have remove my makeup, the lipstick would leave a heavy stain.

I love that Carousel Cosmetics lipsticks is quite moisturizing during wearing time, the pigmentation is super bold and fun. Application was easy and it is very long-lasting! (When I first swatched it on my wrist, it lasted 24 hours with me showered twice during that time, pretty amazing huh?!).

The only thing I dislike is that the color gives me slightly yellow teeth, but that is the problem when it comes to wearing bright color lipsticks for me.

Tips: No need exfoliate and apply lip balms before hand, it still goes on smoothly and evenly! The texture is creamy and it's moisturizing.

Bite Me, Anchor Me and Pernicious

When I saw the picture for Pernicious I knew I would love these lipsticks, so brought 3! I’m a huge fan of another brand that produces similar style/shade lipsticks but uses a unicorn, carousel using a carousel horse as their logo.

The lipstick cases are pretty chic in little black shiny plastic, with the logo of the carousel horse printed in white along the lid. They are relatively new so not many shades are available, I believe its currently only 6 in total. Lipstick formula is nice and creamy, smooth to put on and once on these little puppies don’t like to move! With caution I ate lunch finding that only minor touch ups were required...bonus!! Application sees it initially sit on your lips with a slight gloss shimmer, but it soon dries to a soft matte with a hint of hydration, not draggy or powdery feeling. Think more buttery.

Colours owned are Bite Me, which is a fiery orange that will be a staple during the summer months; it’s quite a hot looking number that I think is fab paired with bronzed eyes and cheek. Anchor me, is a soft mulberry shade of plum I love this as a autumn colour but can see it being great in the spring too. Then finally my favourite, Pernicious, Lilac purple that sits on the purple side more, other lilacs I own tend to settle into a grey colour where this one sits happily as a true lilac/mauve I have had quite a few compliments when wearing this one. I have a feeling that I will own all of them eventually.
