Embarrassingly, this is probably the oldest makeup item that I have in my collection that I still use. I want to say that it's at least 4 or 5 years old! I know! I have actually decided to use it until the end of the year and then I will be chucking it out.
This was my first blush purchase. Before this, blush had kind of scared me as I thought you could only look like a clown while using it. At the time, I'd been watching a lot of makeup tutorials on youtube and this palette had come up quite a few times as being good for beginners. I don't think I paid much for it, maybe $10? There is 10 full size blushes in it so even for $25 it's only $2.50 per blush.
This palette is just a sleek, long black case. It does up securely and also opens up easily. I would love it if it had a see through lid so you can see the colours more easily but otherwise it's fine. I've never travelled with it before but I can see it being a convenient way to take lots of blushes with you.
This palette has pretty much every colour you need to start with, there are cool and warm tones, brights and pastels, plus shimmers and mattes. A downside to this though is that unless you re using this with your friends who have different skintones to you, not every shade will suit. I'm fair skinned and the bright oranges and pinks look crazy on me. Even blended out they are still very pigmented. The shade I've used most is the cool toned pink in the top row, I've actually hit pan on it. There are 4 other lighter shades that I use sometimes, some peaches and a rosey pink but the others are too bright. If this palette wasn't so old, I would gift it to someone else to get some use out of.
I do think the blushes have a good pigment to them. The brighter ones are better of course and I also think the brighter ones have a better formula as the are less powdery. These sit nicely on my face and are mostly easy to blend. I do find they fade the fastest out of all my makeup but they seem to fade off evenly.
Would I recommend this? Yes I would to someone who doesn't own any blushes or maybe only has one and wants to explore some different colours. If you own quite a few blushes, then I don't think you would get as much use out of this palette. I'm not sure if I would purchase this again. I do like the 5 colours but I also own a lot of other blushes that I'd like to use more of.
I purchased my blush palette from Beauty Joint. I chose it because I wanted a range of colours to go with different looks, but didn't want to commit to buying an individual blushes. This palette, at a low price point, gave me a chance to try many colours.
The pigmentation when first applied is very good, however unfortunately the colour does not last longer than 6 hours and because of the size of palette, it's not like I can put this in my bag for a top up!
I would repurchase, but only for particular looks rather than day to day wear that needs to be long lasting.
Tips: Purchase yours directly from BH Cosmetics, it's cheaper than Beauty Joint!
