i brought this palette a few months ago after hearing so many people rave about it! i was so intrigued, the price did put me off (some places selling for $100!!) but i thought to myself "youre paying for quailty", in all honesty, i didn't like this product! i think its so over hyped and not worth the money! i used the banana shade, and all 3 contours at once (most of the time, other times i would use one) and i have to say it was very chalky, it didn't settle right, it looked muddy, and i just wasn't a fan! its an average product, and i personally think its sooo over priced!

I guess it was needed. The time had come where people needed a palette that did it all when it came to contouring. This palette in particular has 3 highlighting shades, a matte white, a matte yellow and a shimmery pale colour and 3 contour shades ranging in depth and warmth. I feel that this product is great as an all rounder palette maybe for a kit or something for someone who needs all the shades but for someone like me who can really only use 2 or 3 shades out of the palette, it was a bit of a waste. I mostly use the lightest and coolest contour shade and the matte highlight shades mixed together for my face. I find the consistency of the powders is a bit powdery. My undereyes actually end up looking slightly worse than if I wore nothing so you'll need to be light handed however, with that yellow shade, it does brighten that area considerably. The contour shade is still not perfect for me and I reach for my other ones over this BUT it's the only one in the palette remotely close. I feel that this palette has gotten a lot of hype that I really don't get. The shimmery colour lacks pigmentation and payoff. The other contour colours are really quite warm and too dark. I love that this as a one-stop-shop palette but I do think that there are separate items that do a better job.
Tips: Be light handed with the powders under the eyes! It can end up looking a little cakey!
I have had this palette for a few years now and it is still going strong, the product is still good. Only reason I don't tend to reach fo reach is because I like to try all the new products that come out. This is still a relevant palette especially for travelling since it combines setting powder, under eye powder and contouring all in one. I love the banana setting powder for under eye area its my favourite and the brown shades are great for everyday contouring. Work with several skin tones too. I probable would't buy it again but it is worth the money and the brand is always high quality.
After hearing all the hype on this contour palette I HAD to buy it! I do have some mixed thoughts on it though.
The packaging is simple. It's a slim cardboard palette with magnetic closure. I often feel as though it's missing a mirror due to the large empty space on the inside of the lid but I suppose contour/highlight isn't something people tend to touch up on the go. Being able to replace the individual pans is quite a nice touch, making it more economical than buying a whole new palette.
The contour shades are very pigmented, which is great, but you do need to keep a light hand and blend blend blend! I tend to stick with the more neutral one of these shades as my skin is quite pale and I don't want to overdo it.
The highlight shades are where I struggle. No matter what I do, I cant seem to get the banana or vanilla shades to show up on my skin at all (not that I'm wanting yellow skin, but it doesn't do anything for me at all). The shimmery highlight shade is very pretty so I use that on my cheekbones a lot. Being shimmery, it's not very well suited to my nose etc though.
I'll keep persevering, but in hindsight it would have been better if I could have tested it out before purchasing or bought a cheaper dupe to see how well highlighters show on my skin.
I've still got some mixed emotions on this product, which isn't exactly ideal considering it's price tag. Strangely I find all of the shades very pigmented, apart from the middle bottom, which is the only shade I would use for my actual contour as the other bottom row shades are far too warm, working better as bronzers to warm up the face. No matter how many times I swipe my brush across this pan, and no matter what brush I use, I just can't seem to get the amount of product/pigment that I want, which is such a shame because it's the ideal contour shade for my skin tone.
However, the banana shade works beautifully under the eyes and to clean up underneath contour/bronzer for a sharper effect. I don't use the two lightest highlight shades because I prefer to look like a disco ball with my highlight and I just don't get that effect with these shades, but for someone looking for something more subtle I'm sure they could work.
The packaging itself is a nice thickness and I like the simplicity, although a mirror could have been a nice addition.
Overall I do like this product, but for the price tag I don't think it matches up, and there are far cheaper alternatives for the same quality.
I am a sucker for palettes, whether they're eyeshadow, blush, highlighters or in this case contour powders. The convenience of having many colours just makes me feel like I will be ready for anything. This contour palette didn't disappoint. I am someone who gets very pale in winter and super tan in summer so I feel this palette can cover all my bases.
What I've found is I adore the lighter shades. The Banana shade is fantastic at setting and brightening my eye area, but I do prefer it when I'm more tan so the light matte pink shade is good for this purpose in winter. The shimmer highlight shade is very subtle but pretty. It is a little powdery though, while the others have a more creamy feel.
The contour shades are very pigmented and blend beautifully. The darkest I haven't used as its a little too dark and warm for me.
I like how I can remove the pans and replace individually as they sell the pans on their site. The packaging is simple. On first impression I thought it a little tacky being like a cardboard case but it has a secure magnetic closure. It does get finger prints on the packaging though but overall I do like it. I was surprised at the size of the pans, I imagined them to be bigger. They are 3g each.
I purchased the palette over all the hype is was receiving , I also had to buy contour brushes ect, cost all quite a bit, I usually use creamy highlighters so i thought this may be a good change for my skin type. But i do love it, I am still getting used to applying, but it does make my skin glow once i get it right ! I wish i could use the contours more often , as i allready have a fav allready, But the different coloured highlighters are so nice to mix between on different areas of your face blending with a brush and its so subtle so its nice to build it up depending on how im feeling that day. I do think its worth the cost,
Omg! When I saw this and saw how much people were raving about it I just had to have this. This kit is amazing and allows you to do all the contouring you want. The only down fall for me was that it made me break out when I brushed it on my forhead but on my checks it works fine.
I love my ABH contour kit, I was lucky enough to actually be gifted mine. As much as I love it, I'm unsure if I would pay for it now that there are a lot of other new products out there that can give me the same affect. Being a lighter complexion I don't get use out of all of the shades, but I try and use them for other things like eye shadows etc. The banana powder is great for brightening under the eyes and I definitely love that just as much as I love the contour shade I am using.
Its a great size for travelling and is multi purpose as it also has a face powder and a highlight in it as well as a mirror, so this is great for carrying around!
The powders are easy to blend and I usually just build the color up as I need it.
Over all, I think its a great product, but make sure to shop around first :)
Tips: Use the colors that don't suit your skin tone as eye shadows/crease colors. Even the "highlighter" can look great on the lid :)
I love the banana shade in this palette. It's one of the best banana powders I've used and it looks great on my skin. The bottom row is unusable for me though, which is a shame because those shades were the reason I bought the palette.
I like the formula of them (apart from the bottom middle, which I found to work differently for some reason?) They are very pigmented, but are still quite easy to blend. You don't need to use a lot of product and they build up nicely. My problem with the left bottom and right bottom shades is the actual colour of them. They're both super warm and look almost red on my skin. I'm quite pale, but even when I use with fake tan I still find them unusable. Even used as bronzer, instead of contour, I find that they just look too warm and I hate how it looks. I've tried using a very light hand and still had the same results, it's just the colour of both those powders. The middle bottom would be the perfect contour shade for me, but I find it to be super patchy compared to the others. I can never get it to blend nicely and it always looks a bit muddy on my face, no matter how much product I use or what brush or how much I blend or how much I don't etc.
The other two powders in the top row don't really do a lot for me. I find that they blend into nothing and don't find them to be positive or negative, just kind of there.
I've really only kept this around for the banana shade and the hope that the other shades will work for me. They haven't yet and I do regret buying this palette - it was quite pricey and liking 1/6 of the powders isn't enough to justify that price for me.
