I love, love, love my velourlips! The formula is fantastic, it applies so smoothly and dries the perfect matte and it doesn't feel like it's drying out your lips (pet hate). I am so disappointed because mine (Rio-D) is super bright and I am still building the confidence to rock the colour so I don't wear it that often. Definitely going to purchase the other colours because they are amazing and so cheap!

Australis Velourlips Matte Cream
What is it?
Highly pigmented lips are the look of the moment, and this lip cream takes it to the next level with its beautiful matte finish! The creamy long-wear formula glides on easily with its doe foot applicator, finishing to a velvety matte look with intense, full coverage colour payoff. Perfect for when you want lasting, matte colour that moves with your lips without flaking.
Time for a change from gloss! It applies creamy, lasts all day and finishes with a soft suede look.A matte lip cream that moves with your lips so you don’t have to worry about caking and flaking.
Reviews
I almost didn't buy this, I was at my local Farmers store buying a few other bits that have been reviewed on here lately and swatched this on my hand - thought it looked nice but perhaps too similar to many other lipsticks I owned and didn't think anymore. I left the store, went outside and saw how gorgeous it was and that it was impervious to being removed from my hand with a tissue. I was sold and went straight back in and bought it. The shade I am reviewing is Par-ee, a gorgeous very neutral and flattering nude which has touches of mauve, peach and brown, is pale but not so pale that I look corpse like or am wearing concealer as lipstick, it is wearable with or without a liner on me and is the perfect daytime nude. The finish is gorgeous, Matte as you would expect from the name, but soft and suede like and not so drying that I want to put a balm over it constantly. Another plus is a check of the ingredient list shows me that it is paraben free which I am very passionate about. Really does stay put - along the lines of those paint on and apply a gloss over types of lip colours, but feels a lot nicer, doesn't wrinkle up or flake off and looks and smells lovely. It requires no maintenance either as it seems to wear off evenly during the course of the day. EDIT - I have removed a point from this as I have found this to be irritating my lips from repeated usage I will rotate with other products to avoid drying, also I have found that it starts to flake after several uses.
Tips: Remove with oily makeup remover or a cold cream for best results!
I must say....Australis is not a brand I tend to use a lot but decided to give it a decent go lately because it was buy 2 products and get the third free. I happened to choose 2 velourlips in amongst it all. I though that if they weren't any good, I could just give them to my little girl to play with. After trying one for the first time I'm now kicking myself as to what took me so long? And dare I say it.....I prefer these to the limecrime velvetines. They go on like a dream and lasted me through pretty much a whole day with only one touch up after eating lunch. The consistency wasn't super runny but they do take just a wee while to dry I found.
Tips: A lot of super bright shades in this range. Ideal for summer!
I was really excited when these came out because I love matte lip colours. I have only tried the more vibrant colours as the nudes haven't come out yet. I have been trying to get into more bright colours and these are perfect. I don't find them too drying at all on my lips, and they're a good affordable price too. I need to buy more!
Tips: Apply a lip balm before hand then blot it off and apply your velourlips!
I have both the hot pink and the orange and I love the colours! They bright, pigmented, and long lasting. They don't transfer once dried but can be drying on the lips which can be a pain. I want to get more of the colours to add to my collection.
Tips: Apply as quick as possible.
Saw the gorgeous Shaaanxo use these so I was like..omg..must get! Loved the colour, cute packaging but the product itself flaked way to much to be nice. I tried again with some lipbalm underneath and it was better but compared the Lime crime velvetines these are the really poor cousin
Tips: Use lipbalm , wait for it to dry a bit, then use on top
ahh i love this stuff not only for the price but the brightness and the matte look may i add their fruity smells are totally amazing. Its a highly pigmaented lip cream that comes out with a matte finish. Its a creamy bright and easy to apply long lasting lippy that holds well to your lips. Its packaging is simple but styley and small which makes it easy to take anywear.
Tips: it is hard to remove but at least you dont find urself having to re apply all the time
I purchased the Velourlips in Ma-li-boo which is a gorgeous bright pink colour. I initially wasn't going to because being Australis I assumed the staying power would be pretty rubbish, however I had swatched it on my hand whilst browsing in Farmers and when i went to wipe all the swatches off my hand this one wouldn't budge. So in to my collection it went!
I wear it on nights out and it literally stays on all night. Once it dries it is not going anywhere! When you have a drink it doesn't transfer to the glass, it's like magic. And the colour is to die for. I get so many compliments! Will be going to purchase the purple colour shortly :)
Tips: Before applying make sure to exfoliate your lips with a mix of sugar and olive oil and apply a little vaseline/lip balm.
These are basically the cheap dupes of lime crime velvetines, the packaging is clear plastic with a black lid, where as velvetines are a more glass type packaging. Anyway, the pigmentation is just as great! Super bright, vibrant colours that don't bleed when you apply them. Most of the colours are quite out there (the pink, purple and red is very bright) but there is a browny nude which is gorgeous! I honestly think these are worth a shot to see if you like liquid lipsticks, or if you don't have $30 odd dollars to spend on a velvetine. The staying power is amazing, one swipe and the pigmented colour is applies with no smudging when you're eating or drinking, it is quite a matte finish but doesn't dry out your lips too much! (Still use a lip balm before applying) the application stick is quick and easy to use, creating a quick sharp line. They're so creamy and velvety, they don't show cracks in your lips and I would definitely recommend!
I bought this in the bright orange/peach shade Rio-D and wasn't very impressed with it. I have limecrime's velvetine matte lip colour in Suedeberry and NYX soft matte lip cream in Antwerp (both darker colours) and they both have a lot better formula and pigmentation than the Australis and the colour range when I purchased mine was poor. I have seen the new 5 colours they have brought out which look a lot more wearable and perhaps the darker shades will have more pigmentation.
Tips: Any matte lip product needs exfoliation and lip balm before application to improve appearance and comfort on the lips without too much drying.
