I own the shades par-ee, shang-hi and bada-pash.
First of all, I love the colour range of the velourlips, with a range of colours from nudes to nice deep shades. They also seem to be constantly expanding on this range.
However, this is where the positives end for me. I am no stranger to applying liquid lipsticks and found that buda-pash applied extremely patchy. Also, I found that shang-hi seemed to emphasize all the fine lines on my lips (I even trialed wearing a lip balm underneath to see if this may help).
I think it is a stretch to say that the velourlips are long-wearing. For liquid lipsticks I usually like them to survive transfer, drinking and eating tests (to a certain extent). I found shang-hi and buda-pash transferred quite badly and faded a bit even with drinking water.
I also do not believe the no caking or flaking claim as the velourlips seem to flake on my lips. I also found them quite drying.
Overall, I think there are better liquid lipsticks out there or even normal matte lipsticks that are more moisturising and long-wearing.
I had seen so much hype over this product so had to pick it up and try it for myself! I haven't used them in forever, I have pretty much forgotten about this product but I have it in red and orange/coral.
The packaging is alright. It has the clear tube so you can see the colour of the product and then it has a black lid. It's straight to the point and is fine for a drug store packaging. The applicator was fine and got the product on evenly without much mess.
The product is extremely pigmented. You can build it up for a super intense look or you can put a very thin layer on to make it opaque (Which I much prefer for the orange colour). The colour pay off did not disappoint!
The particular time I wore velour lips I went out for dinner and this did not budge! It stayed on throughout eating and drinking (with a straw) and did not need to be reapplied and still looked flawless when I got home. It did dry a tiny amount but didn't cake or flake for me like other girls have said it did. I did moisturise throughly before applying so that may have played a part in it!
I also found it very easy to take off with just a Kmart make up remover wipe and it didn't stain at all. I was very impressed with the product and was great for the price. However I find the colour to intense for everyday wear and this is why I probably don't reach for it as much as I should.
