These are defiantly matte. But they are also super drying. Dried my lips and made them look chapped. The colour pigmentation is amazing. But are way to drying wouldn't purchase again.

Reviews
When these matte creams first came out I wasn't very impressed with the colours because they were too bright and out there and just not something I would wear very often.
But when they came out with a few new ones I fell in love with the colour Shang-hi, it was the perfect deep pink/purple shade and I was so excited to start wearing it.
I found that I preferred to wear this with a lip liner just on the edges of my lips because it made it easier to apply. It was quite easy to apply, really smooth and it spread out quite evenly. After about a minute it completely dries on your lips and when I say dry I mean super dry. It felt like I had put paint on my lips. I tried putting a lip balm underneath but I found that it didn't apply as evenly as without the balm. It made my lips extremely dry and chapped and it starts to fade on the inner part of my lip withing an hour or so. However I did have a lip gloss that was the same shade as the lip stick so I put it over the lip stick after it was completely dry to stop it from moving around. Once I had the lip gloss on, my lips stayed moisturised for as long as the gloss stayed on my lips but it still faded on the inner part of my lips.
This is not a bad product, the formula just needs to be adjusted just a little bit to make it more wearable.
This velour lips was my first experience trying Australis. After seeing many fellow Beauty review members posting beautiful pictures showcasing this matte liquid lipstick I needed to have a try of this.
The colour I chose is Ny-cee. It's a vibrant red. This liquid lipstick comes in this tube. This velour lips is down one side of this. It has this lace work around the top and bottom of this. The texture of this is a normal liquid consistency. Has a slight berry scent to it.
On application it's like a gloss. Within minutes it starts to dry. With the first application it's quite streaky. I add a second layer and possibly third layer depending on how it looks. I found the colour to be vibrant.
My results were very good using this. It lasted me a whole day with eating and drinking. If your wanting hydration I would add a lip balm underneath as a base. I prefer it dry.
UPDATE: I have had some issues with streakyness.I notice that these startto become streaky and a bit gluggy after a certain amount of time. I believe shelf life be up to a year and then issues start happening. This does require layering. I probably wouldn't buy this again after having a few issues with this.
Tips: Make sure you use a lip scrub before applying this as it will show dry spots on your lips.
So I purchased the purple one to ki o I think was, was such a beautiful vibrant colour and I loved how bright it was, but applying it wasn't the easiest ( maybe it was just me ) but was quite messy and difficult it had to be perfectly outlined etc, I also found it dried out on my lips and looked very yuck and flaky I had to wash off :(
Tips: Apply lightly
i love the pigmentation of these lip creams , i just find their very drying and when you eat they start to crumble and bunch up on your lips.
I brought these a while ago and have only gotten around to doing a review now so i have no idea if they have updated their formula.
When I bought them they just didn't apply nicely and the taste of them was just weird. I wasn't expecting them to taste nice or anything but putting something on your lips shouldn't taste bad. I really did like the colour choice which was the only reason I had bought them and the price was really good too. The application is not great at all. The more you try get a better pigmentation and colour pay off, the more it will patch and it just doesn't look nice. One of the colours were alright, but that was only one and it was more of a neutral shade so you couldn't really see from far away.
Overall I wouldn't recommend these unless you have tried them first hand or something as they just didn't apply well for me.
When matte lipsticks first hit the beauty scene, Australis seemed to be the first affordable brand to make their own range of matte lipsticks, and I think that is awesome. The brand has a good colour range, the products are readily available and pretty affordable too.
These come in a standard liquid lipstick tube with a black lid and see through plastic packaging. The product has a doe foot applicator which works really well and makes it really easy to apply.
The formula of this product feels nice when applying. It goes on smoothly, and dries down quickly. The colour is pigmented, and opaque too (I have only tried one colour from the range).
I love a lot of Australis products, but not this one. I found the Velourlips really drying. It does cake, flake and crumble, and that is not a good look. I have tried using this with a lipbalm, exfoliating before hand and everything else I could think of, but nothing makes these lipsticks comfortable to wear and so I won't be using/repurchasing this product.
first off these are quite overpriced, as i find the rest of the australis range to be for a "drugstore" company. It was an awful colour on and looked different from the package, it dried quickly which was good but settled into fine lines and cracks, smudged and flaked, wasn't flattering and the product dried up quickly as well! would not repurchase.
The formula is really thick and I like my liquid lipsticks to be thin. Didn't dry that matte and it completely came off when I ate a cookie.
I'm a big fan of matte lips, and I was really excited when I heard that Australis would be jumping on the matte lip cream bandwagon. I own MA-LI-BOO (pink) and RIO-D (coral). Firstly, I find the smell completely overpowering - it has a very sweet, fruit candy-like smell. It dissipates eventually after applying, but is very strong at first. I find application to be tricky too, it's hard to get the color perfectly even for these two shades. The first layer of color tends to get picked up and made patchy, no matter what I do. I find that the formula is very thick and difficult to work with. I found that they tended to look flakey and crusty on my lips very quickly - probably a result of applying to much trying to cover up the patchiness. I love how bright and unique the colors are, but I am not sure if I love the formula. I will try the other shades in the collection and see if they will change my mind.
Tips: Exfoliate your lips beforehand, and have a thin layer of lip balm on your lips before applying to reduce dryness.
