My first pressed powder

I'm not lying, this was the first foundation I ever purchased. I was a young teen and I bought it in one of the darker shades and caked it onto my face and thought I looked fabulous :D

Its actually a very good powder, it lasts forever and provides good coverage. It sets a liquid well and comes in a nice little compact with a sponge. Very smooth and not grainy or thick at all.

I'd say it could be dupe for MACs studio fix powder, my current favourite, very similar packaging but I prefer the silkiness of the studio fix. A good, more affordable alternative though. I used it for years, managing to slowly move from the orange-brown shades to my actual skin tone, and its pretty much a never-fail pressed powder.

Tips: Apply with a powder brush or use the little sponge if you're on-the-go. Its so versatile that it can handle being applied with sponge and doesn't look too thick.

My absolute fave

Can't rave enough about this product Better than the mac powder everyone compares it too but a quarter of the price.

Amazing coverage amazing formula amazing price Doesn't cake up or dry out your skin doesn't crease anywhere on my face, I have dry to normal skin My sister also uses this and she has oily acne prone skin and it's amazing on her too

Not that much of a fan of the new packaging they recently brought out I think I like the old packaging better but will still continue to purchase

Fresh and Flawless

I am a HUGE fan of MAC's Studio Fix Plus powder, LOVE it and used it every day until I ran out. Tight on funds, I decided to give Australis' Fresh and Flawless Pressed Powder a go after hearing it was a good dupe for Studio Fix Plus, and it helped they had a 3 for 2 special going at the time of course!

I began using it feeling very doubtful about how it would perform, but my feelings soon changed. The formula is soft and finely milled and picks up easily on either the supplied sponge or a brush. I recently went away without any makeup except this (eek!) and found that when applied with a sponge to bare skin it still provided medium coverage without the cakeyness that many powders leave. My preferred method of application however is buffing it in using a kabuki brush to set either bb cream or liquid foundation for a full coverage look. I found the kabuki approach works best for a more even finish using less product, wheras the sponge is great for touch-ups. In terms of lastability it has pretty great longevity, lasting throughout my workday without shininess or patchiness.

The packaging is okay, although I prefer compacts that have a mirror above the powder as I find it wayyyy more convenient for touching up. My only other dislike with Fresh and Flawless is the lack of colour selection. I have fairly medium skin tone and purchased this in the darkest shade available 'Darkest Brown', which is lighter than my NW25 powder and far from dark brown so wouldn't suit darker-toned ladies.

Overall, this powder really does live up to the hype and I will happily repurchase!

Tips: Apply with a kabuki brush for an even coverage using less product.

Beauty Staple

I purchased this after hearing so many good things about this product and it being named as a dupe for MAC's Studio Fix Plus Powder.

The packaging of this powder is nothing special and unfortunately it doesn't have a mirror inside the lid for quick touch ups (they redesigned the compact and it is now under the powder, which is a bit annoying to use, having to flick back and forth between dabbing the powder and looking in the mirror). The powder itself is very finely milled and so smooth on the skin. This can be applied alone and still give light-medium coverage or as a setting powder over foundation. I have used it both ways (more often as a setting powder) and love the flawless finish it gives either way I use it. This powder gives a matte look to the skin, but, doesn't look powdery or unnatural and keeps me shine free for a good few hours before a touch up is needed.

I have fair skin and purchased the lightest of the three shades (unfortunately for darker skin tones it only comes in three fairly light shades).

Overall, this powder is a must have for the price and something I will certainly repurchase.

Tips: Apply with a kabuki brush for an even coverage using less product.

Tips: Dust over the face lightly with a powder brush when setting foundation and buff into the skin with a kabuki brush when using alone :)

A fave

I used this for years & I really liked it. Its really good for coverage over a bb cream or light foundation. I have a lot of freckles and acne scars I like to cover so it is really useful for that. Only problem is it always seems to be sold out when I go to buy it from Farmers so I have started using a Maybelline superstay powder compact instead, which I would say is very similar in consistency

Pressed Powder

I found this powder really great, it sets my foundation nicely without a cakey effect. Good coverage, nice colour and nice size. I have nothing bad to say about this product :)

Tips: I like to use a kabuki brush rather than the application sponge provided, I feel it gives me better coverage

Good dupe!!

After hearing this was a dupe for mac studio fix I literally HAD TO TRY IT and I must say it does the job! Both products are very similar, I find that the Australis like Mac' is very full coverage, I can put on a bit of concealer and then the powder and I can go for gold! It also manages to sit lightly on the face, so my make up often doesnt feel so "caked" on. One down fall is that it only comes in 3 shades, I chose the darkest and still thought it was a bit to light for me (Im tan, but not overly tan) but if you can match your skin to a shade then it would honestly be PERFECT for you and at that price, you really cant go wrong with giving it a go. I do still prefer my MAC studio fix, but Australis is still such a great dupe!

Australis Fresh and Flawless Pressed Powder

I used to use this face powder when I was younger to cover up my pimples, it worked really well for me and did make my face look flawless. This powder works really well for coverage, but I did find it was just a tiny bit cakey, still a great product though and I would recommend it and use it again.

Almost Flawless!

This really is a great powder foundation, especially for the price. I haven't tried MAC Studio Fix personally, but so many people have said that this is a great dupe for it.

My favourite thing about this powder is the fact that it has amazing, buildable coverage that is so non-cakey in finish - something that is often not the case even in quite sheer coverage powders. Obviously you can use this as a foundation on its own, or you can use it (lightly, or I find that it can start to look a bit obvious) over foundation to set it and add some extra coverage. I personally like using it with just a bit of concealer, for a really nice, "flawless" yet everyday base.

The only downside with this powder for me is that the shade selection is very limited - three shades, whcih are all fairly similar - nothing super dark or super light. I found that the lightest shade for me was just slightly too pinky-based to work perfectly on my very fair, warm skin. Obviously I could make it work, by blending it out really well, but it did mean that it wasn't quite as quick and convenient as I had hoped.

Overall: I'd definitely recommend - it's amazing quality for an amazing price! Just be aware that if you have a very fair or dark skintone, you may have a bit of difficulty finding your perfect match. xx

Tips: Apply with a fluffy powder brush to give a light application/set your foundation, or use a denser, kabuki brush (or even the sponge it comes with) to get a really full coverage.
