I was very kindly sent this by a lovely br member. A while ago actually but I've been trying to use up older primers before I opened this one. I have very dry skin with a bit of redness. I don't really have any texture issues. I'm not sure what exactly I want out of a primer yet, maybe just something to give a bit of glow and help my makeup stay on longer.
This comes in a very basic, white squeeze tube. It has primer the original on it. I'm not sure if this means that there are other types of primers from this brand too. This says it prevents foundation fading, smooths and refines, moisturizes and is silicone free. These are all things I like and want to happen to my skin. This primer is white with a sort of jellied consistency. It looks a little separated if you squish it on your hands but it goes on smoothly on my face. To me, it just feels like an extra moisturizer. It absorbs quite quickly which is nice but I really don't notice any benefits from using this. I don't think it helps make stay longer, and I don't think it would do much in the way of smoothing. The scent is a little weird, luckily it's not strong and I don't notice it on my face. I use around a pea sized amount.
I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase this but I will finish the bottle. Australis do this as a gwp quite a bit so I'd use it if I got it for free that way too. I'm not really sure if I could recommend this, maybe if you're just looking for an extra moisturizing effect, just don't expect miracles.
I love this primer, smells yummy and sure does the trick, I struggled with keeping my foundation and powder on around my eyes and this product has helped me so much with this.
Tips: Don't forget to let it dry of before applying your foundation!
