bareMinerals Marvellous Moxie Lipstick Review

I love this lipstick! It feels great to wear and it has great colour pay off. It’s long lasting and the colours are great... I’m not a huge lipstick wearer but these colours are so lovely!! The smell isn’t to strong or off-putting and the packaging is the best!! So easy to use. Would definitely recommend!

I had only tried a few thing from bareMinerals which didn't really hit the spot with me but I decided to try different products anyways. What inspired the purchase of this lipstick was during a trip to Mecca Cosmetics over close to Christmas 2015 I saw bareMinerals' released a limited edition set of ten mini lipsticks for the holiday. The set was Love at First Kiss and it had seven shades from the permanent collection and three that were limited edition. The minis were about .05 ounces and came in round gold and black tubes. The black tubes had a beautiful gold leaf pattern on them. I was looking for high end extra goodies to add to the gift pile for three secret santa recipients and at about 60 NZD for the lot I figured that I could keep a couple of the shades I really liked and gift the rest. I knew that a high end lipstick would be more exciting than an extra snack anyways. I kept two lipsticks and gave away the rest as Christmas pressies. The two I kept are shade in their permanent range, Live Large and Get Ready. Live Large is a pinky plum shade and Get Ready is a rosy pink. Both lipsticks have a creme sheen to satin finish. It could be just me but if I didn't look at the label then I would need to hold them side by side to tell apart. The colors swatch differently from each other though. This lipstick applies smoothly on my lips and adds a bit of moisture. It's not a lightweight moisture and nowhere as moisturizing as a lip balm but my lips don't feel really dry. The two shades I have are fairly pigmented, I say that because I've seen swatches of some of the other shades with different finishes and it took a few swipes to get a more than just a wash of color on. I could get a more than a wash with just one swipe but I like to do two swipes. The thing that really impresses me about this lipstick is that transfer is minimal and that it is long lasting. I get about five hours of color with these lipsticks, even if I drink water. It does start to fade in the middle after about four hours but if I just rub my lips together it redistributes the color pretty well and fairly evenly. I think I am impressed with how long this lipstick lasts and considering that it goes on smoothly. While this isn't the best and most comfortable lipstick I have worn, this is a really good option. And I'll be looking to see if there is more limited edition minis this Christmas since they do make nice gifts and I wouldn't mind a few more of these lipsticks.
