I purchased the Billion Dollar Brows Universal Brow Pencil as part of a 3 piece set from beautybliss in their New Year sale as my beauty resolution is to sort my eyebrows out. After the 90's thin near non existent fad on brows I plucked and plucked my already blonde fair brows overly aggressively and now the trend sees fuller brows that suit faces better I wanted to have a set to be proud of myself but they just don't grow and fill in as I need them too.
I only really started to worry about my eyebrows over the last 6-8 months as I saw the rise of the fuller look and realised that mine were doing nothing for my face. After trying a few pencils I wasn't getting the results I was looking for, step in Billion Dollar Brows!!
This dual ended pencil has a neutral brown shade that suits a number of skin tones and hair colours which means you don't need to worry about if the colour is right for you. The construction of the pencil is great too a smooth cool pencil of plastic coating in silver houses on one end the retractable lidded pencil and on the other the stiff bristled wand brush which too is lidded to keep it all hygienic and tidy.
The pencil is slightly softer than many I have tried before it actually feels and acts more like a soft wax crayon that melts against your skin as you apply it as fill in brows, shaping them as you go, what you do find is that the product can build up on existing lashes that are there, this is where the bristled brush end comes into play, how I use it is once I am happy with the overall look of both brows I comb them through which evens the coverage out, makes any stray hair lie down and smudges the colour further. It works this way for me so I will stick with it.
Lasting all day until I remove them with makeup remover wipes the pencil means I have even, fuller brows that I am very happy with and would highly recommend this to anyone else who suffers with poor brow game, the price of this product is very reasonable and a little of the product goes a long way with its smudge quality so it should last a while before I need to replace it.
I found what I deemed my Holy Grail in Brow pencils... but alas this wasn't what arrived in my March BRBB but I have to admit I was eyeing it up before my previous find... so I gave it a shot.
First impressions: It has a waxier consistency to what I am used to and it took a bit of time to get my brows right. My brows are sparse at best and this pencil actually pulls hairs away as I am applying it, not the brush part but the pencil to which I was only pressing lightly... that made me a bit anxious! and to make sure it wasn't just a growth cycle effecting it.. a week later and more hairs on the end of the pencil...eeek
So I put it aside and came back again recently to give it another shot. I sat down when I wasn't rushed or needing to be anywhere and just had a bit of one on one time with it... this seemed to work better for me, so I agreed to give it another chance (I am a hard woman lol).
So after using this for a while am I converted? well not quite.. I don't mind it but I just don't love it. The colour is a bit too weak for me and it's not as build-able as I would like, the consistency is waxier than I prefer and makes my brows feel weighted (probably not a bad thing just not what I am used to), And I am still concerned over the amount of hairs it takes with application. The brush is nice and firm though and it does a good job prepping the brows and afterwards for a more natural look.
I am just a bit underwhelmed by it instead of loving it like I had hoped. I will keep it as a back up but I don't see me re-purchasing it anytime soon.
