These are cheap, so as expected they dont wear as well as better nail polish brands. They do however allow you to build up a good stock of colours, and when used with a quality top coat last quite well. They also don't reek of chemicals like some cheap polishes can!

Reviews
I am obsessed with a gold colour in BYS nail polish which I bought two years ago. An amazing colour, and lasts a reasonable amount of time. I am also obsessed with a neon/bright pink also purchased around the same time. For an amazing result, I tend to apply two coats.
I have about 10 BYS nail polishes in fun shades like bright yellow, matte green, sky blue and fluro pink. I love the range of colours they have and the different finishes such as matte, chrome and glittery. In fact my go to nail polish when I'm in a rush is BYS Matte Mint Green because it takes just one coat and dries very quickly and I don't bother with top coat as it is matte. These nail polishes can be found very cheap at many places, I've seen them in Glassons, Postie Plus etc. The quality I found to be very good considering the price. I would recommend to anyone wanting to try out a new bold colour, the range is great and easily accessible here in NZ.
Tips: Go for something different like yellow, don't just stick to boring pinks and reds ;)
I bought this in a purple colour over 2 years ago from Glassons for like $5 or $6 (still going strong, not dried out). The colour is just beautiful, very metallic and pretty :) It does need more than one coat so that's it's not as sheer, but for the price, I was expecting that. It lasts for a while on the nails, especially with a good top coat.
Honestly, the most impressive thing to me is how long it's lasted without going yucky and drying up - even more expensive branded nail polishes haven't lasted as long.
These polishes are pretty good, however if you can't get them on sale I'd go for another brand. I got mine on clearance from a store that was closing down, but I know you can get them from Postie and possibly online too.
The colour range is great and there are loads of finishes to choose from, including a few different sorts of top coats! (Matte, Glow in the dark, etc)
The neons from BYS aren't very good though, they are very streaky and take quite a few coats to become opaque however all the other colours are great.
The bottles are large with an average brush, and the formula of these polishes is kind of thick and creamy but doesn't dry out over time. I'd say if you can find these for cheap give them a go!
I have White Pearl.
The consistency is smooth, but the colour is thin. They recommend 2-3 coats, but two coats is ok. The second coat takes a while to dry, but I find my way around this by letting it mostly dry (give it 5-10 mins) then apply a top clear coat, wait a minute & apply quick dry drops. Then i only need to wait a little while longer and I'm good to go!
I've owned a few of these polishes and they have a good selection of shades. The bottle and packaging isn't outstanding but it works. I feel that there isn't as strong a scent to them which I like and usually a couple coats is opaque enough. They dry quite quickly which is a bonus but do chip a bit. Some are streaky so it's really hit or miss. Most of them are pretty good and sometimes there are sales. It's affordable and relatively reliable so I do like them :)
I purchased the two shades mentioned above on clearance from Kmart for a couple of bucks each. Admittedly, I probably would not have purchased if they were not on sale.
I do have to say though that I like i like both these shades they are such pretty colours. Longevity is about the same as other brands, they start to chip after a couple of days in but that doesn't bother me. I have come to expect that from nail polish.
It is cruelty free so makes me 95% more likely to purchase this brand then most other brands. Though I doubt I would pay full price for it, I would definitely purchase if on sale.
Tips: I didn't get any staining from the colours I used but I did use a base coat first.
These are an impulse buy for me, as they are usually up near the counter, so the colours catch my eye.
Not my first preference or the greatest quality, but for the price they're really just a colourful bit of fun to add to my lacquer collection.
I've used both the basic and UV colour lacquers. I bought the UV Tension Rising Pink shade for a Neon party, and it really does glow under a black light. This particular colour/formula is quite thin and dries to more of a matte finish, so you need to apply a few coats. It's only really good for a day or two at most, as left any longer and it starts to discolour and look 'off'.
The only BYS nail product I would not recommend, is the Topcoat. I've used it on vairous brands of lacquers, and I found it made the coloured polish go streaky and gluggy when I brushed it on, even when the colour was previously dry.
Ok so I would rate the colour nail polishs 3/5 they are ok. Nothing fab and the wear isnt too crash hot - they tend to chip quickly and take ageeeeeeeessss to dry. BUT they are cheap and often on special at K-mart so you can have lots of fun colours.
However this review as titled is about their top coat. I use it on top of most of my already purchased many nail polishs and love it. It has breathed new life into my collection - because that amazing black I have just got matte. Awesome.
I recommend getting a matte top coat and trying it out for yourself I was really impressed.
As mentioned above I was less impressed with the colours.
Tips: Try the matte top coat on some of your other nail polishs.
