I got this in a red for Christmas. Chanel lipstick is something I have always wanted to try because I am a bit of a Chanel girl. So as you can imagine I was very excited to try this present.
This lipstick would have to be one of the most hydrating lipsticks that I have tried. Most lipsticks I end up applying a balm over, but not this one.
In terms of the colour, it is a very safe middle of the road red, it's classic-ish but not particularly stand out.
The shape of the bullet lipstick was also interesting as it was a bit flatter than most bullet lipsticks. I can't decide if this makes it easy to apply or not.
The tube is a very classic black and gold tube with the Chanel logo on the top and written on the lipstick. Personally I think they could have printed Chanel on the side as well. When you're spending that much on a lipstick you want the brand to be pretty obvious, it part of the whole designer experience. You also had to position the lipstick just right or it wouldn't go back in the tube.
I would like to try more shades of Chanel lipstick because although this shade was just nice, the lipstick felt like a quality lipstick so I would be interested in finding a shade I really like.
Chanel is preferred my use of lipstick for staying power. They seem to last much longer than other brands I have tried. When I went to buy my latest lipstick, I was attracted to the hydrabase lipstick because it keeps you lips moist. Well, I tried it and I'm super impressed with how my lips stay moisturised, they feel good all day long. It is expensive but you don't need to reapply constantly through the day. The lipstick has a smooth and satiny texture and is easy to apply. I will definately use this one again.
Tips: Keep in your handbag for touch ups during the day.
