Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G This is my fail-safe recipe for perfect lips… Enriched with a breakthrough, secret ingredient, the Lipstick Tree, an anti-oxidant that naturally protects lips from UV damage and external pollution leaving them cashmere soft and irresistible. Blended with special waxes and clever light-diffusing pigments for pert, full-bodied, ultra-brilliant lips that ensure you leave a lasting impression!

K.I.S.S.I.N.G is my signature range of 10 lipsticks curated with modern and classic icons in mind. It is a capsule colour wardrobe of backstage nudes to red carpet reds made to suit any skin tone. Perfect, full, kissable lips really do grow on trees…

• The Lip Stick Tree loves your lips, protecting them from UV damage and fighting oxidative stress so that lips are left soft, pert, soothed and hydrated. A tropical plant originating from America, the plump yet prickly red fruits appear like pouting lips that blow kisses at you as you walk by. The colour from its seeds was originally used by Indigenous American people to paint and protect their lips.

• Also contains light-diffusing pigments that give lips a brilliant, luminous, multi-dimensional finish - they capture the light across the lips and reflect it back out for a full-bodied effect.

• A special blend of waxes means this lipstick is a dream to use and glides over the contours of your lips. The result is colour rich and buildable, the formula does not bleed outside the lip line.

• Paraben free.

Not perfect.

Charlotte Tilbury is fast becoming one of my favourite makeup brands, the stunning packaging is always a delight and the products are always of high quality, and this lipstick is no exception. I love the matte revolution lipsticks so when I was ordering another one of those I decided I wanted to try one from the K.I.S.S.I.N.G range. I bought this in the shade 'bitch perfect' it looked the perfect darker nude for me.

The packaging of this is stunning, the mirrored rose gold coloured casing is grooved and weighty, with the CT logo imprinted in the top of the lid.

The formula is so creamy and buttery it's easy to apply and doesn't drag or pull across your lips when you apply it.

The colour is a pinky darker nude, this is the perfect shade for my medium complexion, so many nudes are too light, but this is simply b*tch perfect.

The staying power of this though lets the whole lipstick down, it transfers so easily and disappears so quickly even without eating and drinking. For a relatively expensive lipstick it's quite disappointing. I find I'm applying it every half hour to every hour. As much as I love CT products I'm not overly impressed with this lipstick. I wouldn't repurchase and I much prefer the matte revolution lipsticks.

I can live without them

Unfortunately I don’t believe I’ll be adding to my CT lipsticks anytime soon. I like the product but I don’t think it lives up to everything that it claims. I bought my lipsticks from Beautylish for $NZD51 (at the time of the exchange rate); really great service and fast delivery.

In regards to the stunning packaging you definitely get more bang for your buck compared to other brands that charge in the same price range. They are sturdy textured rose gold cases that actually have a bit of weight to them so the packaging is an absolute winner for me.

The formula glides on effortlessly without any tugging and leaves me with a satin finish and this is where my problems begin. I wear lipliner all the time because I love adding definition to my lips as well as containing as much of the lipstick in one area. As with a lot of satin finishes it can be difficult to stop it from moving so I feel that the claim of “does not bleed outside the lip line” is debateable. I’ve been sitting at my desk for 15 minutes and already the product has slightly moved outside the lined area - not by too much but within an hour or so I know I’ll need to retouch my lipstick. Granted I did have a scorched almond (or 6) but surely I should be able to stuff my face (like a lady) and not have the product move within less than half an hour! I have tried different natural coloured lipliners ELF, NYX, MAC and I still can’t get it to stay put. This is not the kind of product you want to blot with a tissue because most of it will come right off. I can get a good 3-4 hours wear with 2-3 retouchings to contain the product. I don’t mind too much but it’s annoying when you purchase a product based on one thing – that it doesn’t bleed.

I have the shades Stoned Rose (rich medium brown on me) and Confession (peach rose gold with shimmer). I was quite disappointed with the how the shades turned out on my lips. Note that I didn’t mark the product down based on my colour selection because that’s all personal preference. I don’t have pigmented lips so I assumed that the shades would suit me just like in the gazillion swatches I checked before purchasing. Unfortunately Stoned Rose is a bit too brown for my liking but then again I am in the chocolate club so I probably should have gone for something a bit more brighter. I’m not too sure how ‘rose’ fits into the name because there is definitely no hint of pink/mauve or anything that remotely resembles a fresh dose of colour. As for Confession, here’s a warning – this one has shimmer so if you don’t like fine gold flecks on your lips skip this shade. It’s a beautiful shade that would suit those of a lighter complexion but I personally hate shimmer because it reminds me of cheap lipgloss.

I think would purchase more if I can get the product to stay put as the other colours do look lovely but for now I can live without them.

Tips: To make it work for me I mix the shades together so that I end up with a medium brown based nude with no clear visibility of shimmer (woohooo) but I feel like I have a dupe of that shade amongst my lipstick collection.

CT Bitch Perfect - A Pinky, Peachy MLBB Nude

I had heard so much raving about Bitch Perfect and I decided to get it. It's described as a peach toned creamy nude which is pretty accurate. It does have a bit of a pinkier undertone on some people but on me it's a peach nude. It's a good my lips but better for in the peachy tones for me. I can wear this shade without makeup and my lips don't look over done but it also really compliments a darker smoky eye. The packaging is so elegant. Beautiful gold, casing that feels a sturdy and the cap clicks firmly on and isn't going to come off in your bag. The formula is creamy and moisturizing, it doesn't drag or stick to dry patches. Now as far as lasting power goes it does transfer if I eat with it on I will need to reapply it. That being said since the color is more nude it doesn't stand out as much when it comes off. I wouldn't say this is my favorite high end formula for a lipstick but I do like it and it does feel luxurious and the color is beautiful. I would recommend this if you don't mind splurging and love a particular shade and know you're going to reach for that shade a lot.

Tips: If you go on the official Charlotte Tilbury website you can look up the lipstick, blush or eyeshadow shade you're interested in on women of different skintones.

A beautiful formula

I recently purchased this in the shade Pillow Talk Fair and it’s quickly become my new favourite lipstick. Obviously being Charlotte Tilbury it has beautiful packaging and at $64 it would need to. It comes in a beautiful gold metal tube and while it looks like a matte formula it is actually quite creamy on the lips. I get very dry lips and this leaves them feeling hydrated and the colour lasts for hours. While I won’t be buying it in every shade due to cost if you’re looking for a little bit of luxury in your makeup routine then this is definitely worth the splurge.

Smooth and Creamy

I totally love the formula of this lipstick. I have the shade "Penelope Pink" which is a beautiful nudie pink (which makes me think of Penelope Pittstop!) its very creamy and soft, so it doesn't dry your lips out. The packaging is a beautiful rose gold - very old glama/vamp - gorgeous! Will be buying again in a couple of other shades. Pricy yes but its worth it!

Tips: If you're after a lip liner of hers to match this shade, the Pillow Talk pencil is a perfect match.

Perfect

I love the formula of this lipstick. I was really very nervous about the shade of "B.I.T.C.H. Perfect", because I don't wear "peachy-pink" lipsticks, but this, definitely is now my HG LBB nude shade. The formulation is so soft, wears very well, non-drying and doesn't have a heavy smell. And the packaging is just TO DIE FOR. Lets all just gaze in awe at the Rose Gold beauty of Charlotte Tilbury packaging!

This certainly won't be my last CT Lipstick - because every single cent is worth this lipstick.

Kiss me in the night baby

I did a beautylish order and had to find out what the hype was around these lipsticks. I got the shade Night Crimson. It was in USD and no way do I wanna know what the nzd is! Ostrich right here. Head in the sand!

When it arrived it comes in a lovely designed box. It's heavy for a lippy! Open up the box and inside is the most amazing goldy packaging! It's all indented in a pattern. It's almost mirrored. It has the CT logo as well.

Open the lid and twist up the lipstick, I squeeeeeled and just admired her! Oh she's gorgeous. The way the lippy is formed. It's different! It's elegant! It's screaming expense! I'm sure she was!!

The colour is stunning. I brought it as there was a get the look photo. In that it looks really really dark. On me it's not. It's still a dark red brown. Just not vampire dark. The colour is perfect for me. Even the hubby loves it. It has a long staying power. It glides on smoothy withput tugging. It doesn't feel yuck or taste or anything. It doesn't bleed. It's honestly 100% perfection. I totally will be buying more!

Would I buy it again? Triple heck heck heck yes!!

Bitch Perfect

I have been lusting after a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick for a while... make that lusting after any Charlotte Tilbury product. Everything she does looks amazing and I would be happy to own any of it! Unfortunately the price just managed to put me off at any turn. However there was a point where I just caved... thankfully for Beautylish.com I was able to buy Charlotte Tilbury with no issues and it got shipped to NZ for free! I picked up the shade Bitch Perfect. I wanted an everyday shade as when you spend a lot of money on a lipstick it is good to be able to use it often.

The packaging is as you would expect for a high-end product... rose gold and beautiful. It even feels luxurious just to hold. The lip stick casing is a rose gold coloured metal with lines down the side and stamped with a CT on the top. The lid snaps on securely. Everything about this lipstick oozes classic beauty.

I love the shade I chose (Bitch Perfect), it is an everyday nude darker peachy pink on me and I think it really suits my skin-tone. It smooths onto the lips really easily and feels nice a creamy. Because of the creamy finish I don't find that it lasts particularly long on my lips though which was a wee bit disappointing. I didn't find that this colour bled on my lips at all.

Although I really do adore this lipstick I don't know if I'll honestly be buying more. The price is just a bit of a turnoff but I am really happy with the one I have!

The Perfect Lipsticks

I was heading to England and needed some beauty brand recommendations so I asked the lovely BR girls on the forum. There were a couple of suggestions for Charlotte Tilbury so away I went with the brand name on my list. I first came across a Charlotte Tilbury counter at Selfridges and fell in love. The products were beautiful and were presented well and I ended up buying four lipsticks. I got the shades Amazing Grace (which is a matte finish), Bitch Perfect, Stoned Rose and Velvet Underground. The boxes the lippy's come in are amazing but the packaging of the lipsticks is beautiful. It's a lovely heavy rose gold textured bullet and it looks good. The lipsticks go on well and feel really nice. They wear well (the matte more than the others) and I can go through a whole day of eating and drinking and only have to touch up 2-3 times. In terms of quality and wearability these lipsticks have it all. They are my first choice to wear and now I will only wear my CT or MAC lipsticks because I just can't be bothered with anything else. Yes these lipsticks are expensive but honestly they are worth every single cent.

Tips: Just buy one, no wait buy them all!

My perfect nude

I have worn Charlotte Tilbury Bitch Perfect almost everyday for the past 6 months. It is luxurious, in sturdy rose gold packaging. Inside is a smooth and creamy (but not too creamy) tube of a nude that compliments my skin tone perfectly. The lipstick screams high end luxury. I wear Bitch Perfect over the Pillow Talk lip liner. This lasts 5-6 hours before fading back to my natural lip colour, without going patchy or leaving a line. This is my favourite everyday combination and it leaves my lips in the condition they were to start with - no dryness or irritation. This lipstick could go over any lip liner, and on it's own it would be slightly more sheer and not quite as long lasting. Despite the price tag I will be repurchasing this lipstick because it is the perfect shade and it is worth not having to smother my lips in lip balm every evening.
