I love this palette, the fact it has all the beautiful in a slim case to take away is all you need. I've traveled with it and it's the only palettes i take with me and i can create SO many looks with it as has basic every day colours and beautiful night colours to amp up a look for a night out. I bought quite a few things from Coastal Scents and this palette is my must have. I love most of the colour and they are really creamy i find, there are a few shades that are chalky but im not too bothered as they are my least favourite colours anyway so not phased

Tips: spray some fix plus on your brush to make the chalky shades more blend able
I love Coastal Scents because you can get SUCH variety for such a low price - this palette comes with so many different neutral shades, you're sure to find one that you like. Unfortunately, you're also bound to find some you'll never use - with my palette, I had about 10 'favorite' shades that I used most often. Once these were gone, I was stuck with the shadows that had pigmentation that didn't pay off, or a consistency that I didn't like, and at that point that palette is basically garbage to me, even though it's not empty. You could shell out to get a palette like Naked 1 or 2, but I've found the same problem with those - some shades just didn't work well for me, and then you're out much more money than you would be with this palette. It's a great buy, especially on sale, just don't expect to love every shade that comes in the palette.
i really like this eye-shadow kit as it gives you alto of variety of colors to use for different looks, would use this again.
I have several Costal scent palettes and too be honest the old line you get what you pay for comes with this product.
This particular palettes has a great range of neutrals, but as with all palettes you tend to have about 6 or 7 of your 'favourites' which of course run out the quickest and you are left with all these other shades which your not sure how to create your beloved natural looks.
I find consistency of the shadows can vary depending on the amount of pigment, or shimmer in the colours...so you definitley need to invest into a primer to ensure you don't loose any pigment throughout the day.
They'd be a great gift for someone younger just starting out with make up as the shadows don't appear to harsh on the eyes. You have to use a fair amount of product to 'build' up to the look you want to create.
With all Costal Scents palettes I find the packaging to be delicate...drop it once and boom its an eye-shadow mascara..not for the heavy handed that's for sure!
Tips: Primer people....definitely need a primer. Urban Decay's primer potion is awesome!
The colours are all so gorgeous, but unfortunately some aren't as pigmented as i imagined. Some of the shimmery colours may work well as a subtle highlighter though. They were also quite powdery and it took a while to build up colour. I agree with another review here, there's plenty of palettes at a similar price point which i love and would definitely choose over this one.
You get a good selection of neutrals in this palette, darks, lights, a few shimmers, lots of mattes however only about 1 in 5 shades has great colour payoff the rest are quite chalky but still useable but it takes effort, primer and good brushes to do so. Go for it if you are starting off in makeup and just want something to play around with - avoid if you are an avid makeup junkie as you will be disappointed with the textures and pigmentation.
Tips: Good for beginners/working out what neutrals suit you and you might like to buy in better formulations later on.
I purchased this after hearing about the costal scents palettes so much online and wanting to try them out for myself.
The packaging is very cheap and simple, but, it does the job and if the shadows were great I would overlook this unfortunately they are nothing to write home about. Don't drop the palette as it is very thin and will likely break.
With 28 shades there are a bunch of shades suitable for everyone and anyone (no matter there skin colour or tone) and I do really like a lot of the shades...the problem is the texture and formula of these shadows. They claim to be highly pigmented, but, they really are not and they are very chalky hard shadows. Some people like shadows like this as you are less likely to apply to much colour to the lid. Personally I like soft, buttery shadows which don't take to much work and time to get your desired colour and blend. These take far to long to build up and blend out. The final look is nice, but, it takes too long to get there. The colour also isn't long lasting so a primer is a necessity with these shadows.
You can make these work for you with a primer and a heavy hand, but, I have other palettes I love (and purchased for a similar price point) and just find this mediocre and not worth the effort.
I would not recommend this palette and although it is cheap, there are equally affordable palettes out there that are far superior (wet n wild, jordana, chi chi, sleek, just to name a few!). I passed this onto a friend and will not be repurchasing any costal scents palettes like this one.
Tips: I wouldn't recommend this. If you have it however, use a primer for the best results.
A great palette for make up starters. Some shades look the same as others, but it's reasonably cheap so it's fine. Some are a bit chalky and some does not have a good colour pay off to it, but it's good if you're still practicing to put make up on.
