I was a little scared when I first saw these cheek blushers being used on a YouTuber (coffeebreakwithdani) so I was put off from purchasing them for a couple of order, but then I relented and brought a few in the safe colour range of peach/pink that I currently love on my cheeks.
Design, in keeping with the rest of the Colourpop range the packaging is a white plastic pot or a larger circumference of the eyeshadows with a screw on lid that has an clear acrylic insert with the word colourpop printed on top of with a holographic font. the screw lid is essential as the blushers are creamy and will dry out easily if left undone, this means the screw lid can be a little tight fitting but it is needed.
Texture of the blushes is creamy almost as velvety smooth as the eyeshadows but it has a little more structure to it. These creamy blushes when applied with a stipple brush create a lovely soft glow that even though when using a fingertip to swatch they are incredible intensely pigmented, using a brush allows you to easily start off light in the colour and build up to a shade that you are comfortable wearing. Giving you all day colour without budging or rubbing away.
Colours owned:
Bonus - A mid tone peach that is soft and creates a lovely soft glow
Holiday - A true peachy pink that like bonus but a bit more warmer
Between the Sheets - Soft beige pink that is very warm toned and creates a warm subtle glow
Olive - Baby pink this is the softest of the blushes I purchased and takes a little time to build up a soft glow but it is incredibly subtle and easy to wear colour.
After seeing all the reviews online and the unbelievable prices I just had to pick up some products! The cheek products are only USD$8 which is awesome. I joined in on an order with some friends though as the shipping can be quite expensive. I picked up the shade 'Thumper' which is a mid-tone blue toned pink in a matte shade.
The packaging of this actually feels very high-end (not even just from the price). I love the white plastic with a shine-y finish. The clear lid shows the colour through it. On the top is says Colourpop in holographic writing. The lid can be put on very tightly which is great as that is what they advise due to the formulation of the product.
The product itself is great. When you swatch this on your hand it is beautiful. It feels so buttery to the touch like a cream product but as you put it on it transforms into a powder. When I put my natural fibre brush (MAC blush brush) into this I thought that this is not going to work! It looked like it didn't pick up any pigment at all. But it actually ended up leaving a really nice finish across the cheeks. Now reading on the site again they actually advise using a synthetic brush so that is what I tried next. On a stippling brush (ELF Brush) it left the same more natural effect. Next I tried my Real Techniques Blush brush and it picked up so much more product and really added a POP on my cheeks. I love how many looks you can get from this one product. What really surprised me was the lasting power of this blush. After wearing it all day I could still see it on my cheeks, not as strong as when it was originally applied but lovely all the same.
I was really impressed by this product and definitely will be looking at more next time I do a colourpop order.
