I love the packaging of these shadows, they are all individual sleek white pots with a clear plastic top to view the shades.
This was the first ColourPop purchase I made and could not be happier! The texture of these shadows are out of this world, they are a creamy almost mousse like texture. So soft and buttery! I love that they are super pigmented and easy to blend, I prefer to apply with my fingers and buff out if required.
In this 'quad' there are two matte shades, and two glitter shades. My favourite is xo which is such a stunning versatile light colour. The colour that I was unsure about at first was Rebel which is a matte khaki green colour, but it is presently easy to incorporate into looks, it adds a touch of colour. Perfect for those who want to play around with colour but don't know where to begin. I love to use it for a smokey eye look.
The price is amazing, the only downside is the shipping can get a bit expensive as it is all calculated by weight.
I got turned onto Colorpop thanks to coffeebreakwithdani who collaborated with them over Frida (which I have and will review when on the site) the description of these bouncy creamy highly pigmented shadows at such an affordable price how could I not grab some to try and as I was new to the brand I got this quad set.
Firstly how cute is the packaging, these four shadows come in a silver holographic shimmer outer box with the individually packaged eye shadow inside. The individual shadow pots are small rounds of white plastic with a tight fitting screw on lid that has a clear see through insert that allows you to see the shadow inside. With the cute addition of Colorpop wrote ontop in a silver type its just a cute packaged set and has me wanting more for the little pottles alone.
Now the actual shadows, these are creamy and you have to take care with making sure you put the lid back on them quickly and tightly as they will dry out. The shadow has a woven pattern embossed into the surface that will wear away as you use it but it just adds to the extra detail Colorpop have gone too to make a quality item. Applying with my ring finger onto my eyelids then using a big fluffy blender brush can get you a light covering which you can build up gradually to make a look as bold as you want. This quad of colours are awesome to be on the nu-grunge trend to get a bold overshadowed murky coloured look.
Shades included:
XO - a beautiful light champagne colour that has a pearl finish
Selfie - Peach tone matte shade that is slighty rusty looking very close to a dupe of Venus from the Lime Crime Venue palette in my opinion
Rebel - Murky khaki green in a matte finish that is actually my favourite of the 4, it can be layered from a soft grass green to a bold dark green.
Deluxe - Warm red brown in a pearl finish, this again reminds me of the Venus palette but it has a ever so slight shimmer to it that I am going to use with the Venus palette to bring a more layered effect to my normal looks
These colours and the buttery smooth velvet texture that lets you control how heavy you want to go, but retains its long lasting power, it smudges wonderfully and the quad of colours are so on trend for nu-grunge I am just in heaven and this baby sits pride in place I my daily grab pile. I can't wait to start collecting all the colours available, the only downside is that Colorpop has high postage which I don't mind but it can take a couple of weeks to arrive where other companies for a cheaper postage get here quicker from the States, but that is no reflection on their products or on the fact I am buying more off them.
