Having tried many foundations over the years I was intrigued to try this with all it's boasting. Unfortunately I was deeply disappointed. No matter how I applied it, it was streaky. Within a couple of hours of application it was patchy. The only thing I liked was the colour.

Tips: Don't buy it!
Caked into lines was patchy and aged me 1000 years. I think it was just just too heavy for me . As most long wear foundation tends to be.
I was surprised to find this foundation was very similar to Double Wear. Packaging is nice and it comes with a pump (yay!!) it is a bit of a thinner consistency than DW, so I found it blended out quite well. It wore well for most of my day at work (steamy, hot environment) which was surprising as most foundations don't, but I did pair it with Mac Studio Fix powder. Overall this is a great cheap foundation but I myself do prefer something with a more dewy finish.
Tips: Probably best suited for someone who doesn't have dry skin - it tended to stick to some areas for me.
first off, the price! so affordable. i bought it because Sally Jo said it performed similar to estee lauder double wear. i used this foundation for my wedding. i wear it to work. you can build it up where you need coverage. you can keep it light by applying less and blending more. it doesn't have a wide range of shades, so thankfully i was able to match one...'true beige'. ll in all, i have nothing bad to say about it. so go out and try it!
Tips: im not one to use primers, but have recently been using a primer under this, and i feel it helps somewhat. whether it be less creasing, less susceptibility to rubbing off you itch your nose, etc.
I have the lightest shade in porcelain ivory. The shade itself is great because its not too pinky which very light shades usually are.
The foundation is quite thick in consistency and does feel quite thick on the face so I don't agree with the claim that it doesn't feel heavy. I wouldn't wear it everyday because of this but I do think it's a great affordable option for special occasions.
Apart from it being a little bit heavy on me, I can't really fault this product. For the price, I do think it's one of the best on the market especially for people who want to use cruelty free or vegan products.
I apply it with a damp beauty sponge. I have also tried it with my fingers but I think a sponge or brush would be best for even coverage.
Tips: Try this foundation with a few different primers. A primer does make it apply easier to my skin.
Designer Brands in general is a great brand on a budget! I bought this foundation on a whim for under $20 and was quite impressed for the price. It comes in a great range of shades; even pale enough for my pale skin! I bought the porcelain ivory shade and it was a pretty good match for my skin tone, almost on par with my Mac and Estee Lauder foundations for skin matching.
The foundation itself is not overly heavy - it allows you to build up the coverage. It lasted most of the day for me but did start drying out towards the end of the day. It is not strongly scented and I had no reaction with my sensitive skin. It really is a good foundation if you are on a budget or a newbie starting out with makeup (I actually passed mine on to a friend just starting to wear makeup).
Would I buy again? Probably not, but just because I have found a foundation that gives better coverage and does not dry out on my skin throughout the day. However, I would still recommend this for anyone on a budget or starting out.
Tips: Blend in with a blender sponge and keep an eye on the designer brands website (they often have deals where you get a free gift with purchase).
This foundation was the first one I purchased as a teenager. It was amazing on my skin, and it is super affordable but also gives full coverage and doesn't look cakey on the skin!
I was lucky enough to nab the last bottle in my shade at my local pharmacy (649 classic ivory). Sally-Jo from YouTube raves about this one and is fair skinned like myself, so I really wanted to try it out and see what the fuss is all about.
The packaging is actually surprisingly luxe for the price point. The bottle is a matte frosted glass and is quite heavy. The pump works brilliantly and dispenses the perfect amount to apply two thin coats across my face.
I find that this is best applied with the fingers and then finished off with the beauty blender. IMO it works best with a primer which smoothes across the pores as this can have a tendency to sit somewhat in the pores around my nose. With two thin coats the coverage on this was absolutely brilliant, enough to cover all redness and pretty much all of the hyperpigmentation on my chin. I have heard a lot of comparisons with this to doublewear- I own doublewear and I actually think this one is a bit more wearable. It doesn't get cakey and is only slightly less full coverage than doublewear.
For this to last all day on my skin I absolutely have to powder; I don't typically get oily with this (or any) foundation but my skin just seems to eat it up otherwise, and its gone within a couple hours. But if you do ensure to prime and set with powder this lasts all day, without cakiness or oiliness, and just a teeny bit of settling in the pores. Its also so refreshing to select an ivory shade from a drugstore product and have it be genuine ivory, finally one which is light enough for super pale skins!
I am very impressed with this foundation and it has become my go to when I want to wear something full coverage that will last the distance. For the pricepoint I would absolutely recommend this over its high end counterpart double wear as I think it is just so much more comfortable to wear and much more reliable in its application. Will absolutely repurchase- and at $16.99- come on people give this one a go!
Last Easter when I was away from home I made the massive mistake of leaving my makeup at home so had to find an alternative and fast! I stumbled upon Designer Brands makeup station in a chemist and loved the price and the promises it made. I got a few selected items for bare essentials while away. One of these was the Designer Brands Longwear 24 hour Foundation.
The bottle is like any other foundation bottle really. Nothing new to report there other than it looks like any other foundation. I got the colour Nude Beige which is the lighter side of medium and is a cool tone I would say so suits my skin perfectly.
The formula is creamy and not too heavy. It's easy to blend and to my surprise actually gives me even and full coverage. I have combination skin and this foundation compliments that perfectly. It doesn't cling to my dry patches and it also gives me a slight glow. It doesn't make my face appear to be an oil slick nor does it melt off my face when it gets hot.
As far as the wear time goes, 24 hours is a bit too far reaching. i would say 7 hours at best before you can see my red cheeks and my blemishes. However, for a $17 foundation I am highly impressed with the stay power and the coverage it gives me. The only thing I would prefer is if it had a bit more variety in the shades because my skin tone changes with the seasons and the next shade up 'True Beige' would be slightly too yellow.
I think this foundation is a great beginners product. Although I love it myself I prefer my holy grail foundation. If I was to forget my makeup again (gosh forbid) then I would be reaching for this before any others. It's a hidden gem for sure!
Tips: Use a finishing powder over the top to ensure stay power
This has got to be the worst foundation I have ever tried. Its cakey, settles into lines and rubs off evem with setting spray.
