I may have just got the wrong colour (Pink Lemonade) but this product looked too wet on my face and made my skin go overly pink. Not only did it look horrible but it also felt horrible too, this facial whip made my face feel sticky and my hair kept getting stuck on my cheek bones where the product was.

I purchased this product in all the shades available as I wanted to try them all out. At first I was disappointed as it is very thick and was hard to apply on my skin, often ruining the foundation underneath and making a mess ..but after practice it becomes easier to use and gives a beautiful shimmery look to my skin.
Tips: If I am having a dry skin day I add a little bit to my foundation which gives my entire face a beautiful subtle glow. As everyone else has mentioned use those fingers :) so much easier to blend than using a brush
I think for the price, this product is amazing. It takes a little bit of practice to get right, and figure out how to blend it properly, but after getting over that hurdle it can give such a lovely glow to the face. I have the shades 'spotlight' and 'lilac petal'. Spotlight is a white/silver colour, and Lilac Petal has a pink tinge to it and I think is very similar in colour to Benefit's High Beam. I use Lilac Petal as a highlighter/blush combo and Spotlight when I just want to have a slight glow. It has a slightly sticky formula which can be annoying, but is able to be overlooked. The packaging is so cute and the nozzle means that you are able to get a small amount of product out at a time, which means little to no waste. Yay!
I have this product in 'Lilac Petal', a beautiful shade. I chose this colour to use as a highlight because I knew it would be more natural on my fair skin tone, as opposed to the starkness of 'Spotlight' the white toned shade. It doesn't take much of this product to create a beautiful glowing highlight anywhere you like.
Tips: A little goes a long way.
After seeing the amazing reviews on BR, and the tiny price of this product, it was a no brainer to purchase the ELF facial whip. I purchased this off iherb and chose the colour persimmon as I thought this would be a better choice for my darker skin tone.
The product is actually really small, like tiny, and can be measured by the length of my pinkie. It comes in plastic tube, that is see-through with a white lid. It has a nozzle so it’s easy to get just the right amount of product out, and that’s good because you don’t need much. The colour was different to what the image online showed, but I still thought this product would be a decent match for my skin tone.
The product itself is purple (for the Persimmon shade), although many other colours of available, and the product has a shimmery sheen to it! It has a slightly thick consistency, and is every so slightly sticky, but really easy to get out of the tube. I dabbed this on the areas I want to highlight, and trust me when I say less is more. However, because of the colour/ shade choice I chose for this, the areas I wanted to highlight were also given a slight pink pigmentation which was more intense than I thought it would be, even when I blended it out. However, I still can appreciate the way this product highlights and would consider trying this product again, but would choose a lighter, or even the white(clear) shade, and this would actually be better than the more pigmented ones I believe, but of course that depends on what effects you want from this product.
For the price, this product is decent. Yes it smaller than expected, but a little goes a long way and it is so affordable!!
I purchased this off iherb for $3, such it was such a cheapie Im not too bothered that I didn't love it. It had a very chemical smell, not the usual fragrance cosmetics have. I swatched it on my hand next to Mac lustre drops and benefit high beam and the shimmer was very compatible, however the elf product was a lot thicker and didn't blend as well. My tube also had a tiny black dot in it which was a bit random so unfortunately it ended upon the bin. It is well packaged in a little squeezey tube and for the money it does the job.
Tips: Blend with fingers and work quickly as it drags on the skin. A little goes a long way.
This was my first highlighter that I brought. It is quite cheap and comes in a small clear tube with a nozzle so you can squeeze the right amount of product out.
This product is quite thick and you only need a tiny drop to highlight your cheekbones. At first I found it awkward to apply so I would definitely recommend having a play around with this product to find your prefered way. I like to put a drop on my index finger and gently pat in the desired area to blend it out. I found using a brush or sponge to not be as affective.
The product is definitely shimmery, but doesn't look tacky or give you that look as if you have smeared glitter onto your face. It gives a beautiful glow, I love to use it during the summer and will definitely repurchase!
Tips: Use a small amount and blend with your fingers!
After having a great experience trying and buying my first elf product, a lip colour I decided it was time to add another elf product to my collection.
I really wanted to purchase a highlighter, and after reading reviews that this was a dupe for the benefit high beam I was sold- this quickly got added to my I herb cart.
The packaging is simple, yet sleek. Although it's a very affordable product I do like the look of it's packaging. Although small it will last ages as you only need a tiny amount.
The consistency is quite thick, so I only use a few dabs over my cheek area to get a lovely, pinkish glow. I love how it highlights my skin, without looking too much.
I am impressed with this highlighter and would definitely recommend.
The first time I went to KMart this particular shade was sold out, but as I expected it to be a light purple shade I wasn't bothered. When I went back, it was back in stock and turned out to be a beautiful pale pink colour. It looks gorgeous on my super pale skin. I use quite a bit because I like a super intense highlight, but I think you'd be able to use less to get a more subtle glow.
It comes in a little squeezy tube, it's super easy to get the right amount of product that you need. The packaging makes it seem really small, but because you don't need much it's going to last forever.
Tips: If you're used to Benefit High Beam for a subtle glow, use less of this product to get the same effect. It's definitely more intense.
I don’t know why this is, but I am completely incompetent at working with powder. So a powder highlighter is impossible for me to work with, but this baby is so very easy.
It’s also a really good beginner highlighter, and because it is really cheap, you can get this to do a good practice with.
I have this in the white shade it comes in. It is a really small tube - which I wasn’t expecting. I thought it would be way bigger, but for $1 totally enough product.
I also love the little nozzle it has, it’s really small which is perfect as the perfect amount of product comes out. No need to worry about wasting it. It’s also perfect for coming out in little tiny circles so you can dot it in the areas that it needs to go.
It’s a really thick and sticky product which I don’t like. I have to wash my hands after I put it on. It’s also really difficult to blend, and you will need to use your fingers for this because using a brush will only just remove all the product off your face and onto the brush. Using your fingers will help warm the product up. But it is really thick, and difficult to work with. I find that I have to give quite a bit of a drag across my face to get it to spread, which also unfortunately makes it difficult to make sure it doesn’t spread to places you don’t want it to go. It will take practice but once you perfect it, it’s really nice.
While it is sticky on the fingers, it’s not sticky on the face when it dries which is good. But it is really shimmery as well. Even once it’s dried and you touch your face, shimmer and colour will transfer onto your face.
I always get heaps of compliments when I wear it. But I do recommend that if you are wearing the white shade, that you contour with it. It can make your face look wider and larger if you don’t because it is so pale.
I also notice that for it to look best, I have to wear it over bb cream or foundation. It makes my skin look really bad if I wear it on it’s on, making all these little red bumps come up.
I’m making it sound like it’s a horrible product, but I truly love it, despite all those things, and I will purchase it over and over again. I’m also keen on experimenting with the different shades it comes in. So lovely.
Tips: Use them fingers!
