Great idea with the two different pallets but would have been a great idea if their were two cases or something for the spare palette. I kinda had nowhere to put the one palette that I wasn't using... I have a make up draw and well it's a bit difficult to have one palette in a big box waiting to be used. Now to the colours... Very nice! Complimenting colours, great range. However I was disappointed at the quality of the product. I guess that's what you get for $14? I battled to used them. They were not smooth. The blush colour on the party palette was great! The best part was the lip colours! The colour stayed on for hours and I was really impressed. But I will stick to my usual products.

I was excited to try this. The 'Day on the Beach' palette is a neutral brown palette including one warm gold shadow. The 'Spotted & Sporty' palette has a mixture of pinks/blues/greens and black shadow. The glosses and blushes in each of these palettes suited the theme it was going for. Deeper colours for the Sporty & Spotted palette and lighter glosses for the Day on the Beach Palette. Although these shadows look great to look at in the palettes, the colour payoff is awful. These shadows are not very pigmented at all. After loading up my brush several times to get the exact colour in the pan, I still didn't get the exact colour. At best, it was a light wash of colour. The lip glosses had an awful finish. It ended up being too sheer. I loaded some more on and then it ended up being a more opaque, thick, mess. I found the blushes in both palettes to be too chalky. Unfortunately, I wasn't very impressed with either of these palettes. Shadows were trialled with Urban Decay's primer potion.
Tips: Spray some Mac Fix + on a liner brush and use these shadows as a liquid liner.
I got these so I could get a feel for different types of elf products. The impression I got however was not great. Most of the eyeshadows had subpar pigmentation with only a couple of colours actually good to use. I found that one of the blushes was brilliant had lovely pigmentation and had a lovely effect. However the other lighter blush was barely visible. To be honest these have been sitting at the bottom of my makeup collection barely used. I think if the packaging and pigmentation was a little bit nicer they would be a lot better.
I've never used any e.l.f products before, so I was excited about trialing this, however regrettably after this experience I doubt I will be seeking this brand out again.
The best thing about this product was the box it came in. Once you removed the compact from the box, it reminded me of those cheap stocking filler "toy" make up palette's you buy for kids at Christmas.
The pigmentation in the eyeshadow and blusher was non existent. With one swipe the lip glosses were half used and they lasted half a second when applied.
The compact is flimsy and difficult to open and then to add insult to injury, I dropped it on the floor when trying to open it and the mirror just shattered.
I've put it in the bin.. best place for it!
Tips: DON'T buy it, save your money and buy something quality.
The make up its self is lovely. The colours are nice, blend well together, and catch the light in a really beautiful way. The pigments are of a good quality. I was a little disappointed with the blue tones as they were very light. I was initially disappointed with how the compacts were divided as it did not look like there were any neutral/blending colours in the Spotted and sporty but when I tried them out they all looked great and worked well together.
Both blushers worked well for me and didn't deposit extreme amounts of pigment, however I only suited one of the lip glosses and even then I didn't like it.
I feel like the lip glosses were a waste. They would run out quickly if you did like them but lip colours are really personal and you don't really layer or mix them to make them perfect so I though that space would be better utilised with applicators.
The concept sounded interesting and the compact was durable and easy to use but the lack of applicators meant that you would have to carry brushes around with you.
I also didn't like having two pallets share one compact. I didn't know what to do with the "spare" one. If I put it in draw then it might break or get bits of other stuff mixed in. If I left it on the dresser it would catch dust and pollen etc.
They really needed an extra cover of some kind. This would also be a issue with travelling - I would want to take both but one would just be lose in my make up bag.
I like the make up, I will use it again but the practicality means I wouldn't recommend it to someone else.
Tips: Some colours weren't perfect for me but they were still really good to blend with.
Would make a good gift for someone younger who would enjoy playing with a wide range of colours.
You know those 2 dollar shop eyeshadow palettes that you can get that do absolutely nothing? This is one of those. In fact, you may as well scrub the Elf logo off and replace it with some random word because this is not Elf quality.
The compact is incredibly cheap, which is difficult to open and close because I can't get a good grip, and something is wrong with the back screw and needs good force to open.
The eyeshadow colours are very small, just covering the top of a shadow brush. Their colour pigmentation is probably almost non-existent. I load and load the brush but all I see is powder falling all over my face with no colour.
The lipgloss is just as bad. Slick and thick, and gloomy, applied on the lips thick, and feels like I have a sticky mask on my lips. GAG!! as with the eyeshadows, there is very little product and finishes quick. Not that I want to use it anyway.
Im not going to lie, I am rather crushed about this product. I was excited because I am rather boring with my collection of eyeshadow colours so I was looking forward to having a play with these. Firstly I dont understand why it only come with 1 Compact when you have 2 Palettes, meaning you needed to keep the packaging it comes with so you can keep the palette your not using clean and dust free. But it is a nice simple design and would be nice and strong when thrown around in your handbag. The next thing I noticed was that when using the Blush you have to be careful to not get your brush in the lipgloss section, I tried to use the peachy blush but my brush hair would not pick up the product so I was unable to use it. I found that the eyeshadows where very sheer and not at all pigmented. I used the bright orange and blue and it was not at all bright like I had expected. The shadow lasted about 3 hours and then had faded completly. The lip gloss dried out my lips and didnt say on for very long either. I am HUGE ELF fan and 80% of my products are ELF so I am really sad that this didnt meet my expectations.
Tips: This would be good for someone who is new to make up as the colour are very sheer. The browns could also be used as eyebrow colours.
