I was really excited to try this product as iv heard a lot of people raving about elf products and I have never tried them.
Anyway I was quite impressed with the brush shampoo. It didn't foam up at all which I wasnt too worried about (as I learnt when doing hairdressing a good product doesn't need to foam up to actually work) . It removed my make up really well. I was actually a little worried about how much make up was coming out of my brushes. I didn't need much product at all, I probably only used about a pinky nail size.
I applied this to my palm, wet my brush slightly, swished it around my palm a little and then pushed my fingers through the bristles from the base of the brush to the end of the bristles and it worked really well.
I found the shampoo to be extreamy thick it was probably the thickness of hair gel and it was quite hard to remove from the bottle. I had to tip the bottle upside and shake it really hard a few times to actually get a little dot of it out. If I was wanting to get a decent amount out I would probably be enclined to tip it upside down and leave it for a while then come back to it and wash the brushes.
I purchased my e.l.f brush shampoo from Kmart for about $10 a few months ago. I was excited to try this product as I have only ever cleaned my brushes with detergent or hand wash (bad idea I know). This resulted in me having to purchase new brushes regularly so I hoped this product would make them last a little longer.
The shampoo didn't really foam up as I thought it would, I found I had to use a lot of product to cover all my brushes. It also did not fully clean my brushes or lift any of the foundation stains. It did however clean off all the makeup dirt and left them smelling fresh and clean. I don't think I will use this product to deep clean my brushes but could be good for light cleaning in between washes.
