e.l.f Eyelid Primer Review

Oh my...where have you been all my life Mr E.L.F eyelid primer???

I have hooded eyelids and find keeping eyeshadow on for anytime longer than a few hours a right hassle!

I purchased this little beauty off iherb.com for only $3.

The packaging is simple, a plastic clear tube with a doe foot applicator which I prefer to use.

You only need a very small amount which means that the product will last a long time, even though it is a small tube. To me it doesn't have a smell which I like.

It is so simple to use. Just apply over your eyelids and let it dry (which only takes a minute or less). It's not tacky which is a thumbs up and it's also not real thick.

Upon applying my eyeshadows, I notice straight away that my shadows aren't going to budge, it's like it's 'glued' to my eyelid.

Before I fell in love with Mr E.L.F, my eyeshadow would last up to four hours before it moved into the creases of my hooded eyelids. Now it last the whole day, I'm talking 7am-6pm when I'm home from work and washing my makeup off. Therefore it would most likely last a lot longer. I must comment how the eyeshadow never moves into my creases anymore and the eyelid primer washes off super easy too.

Am I happy you ask??? I think so. How could I not be....this is why the E.L.F eyelid primer is my new love affair. I cannot rave about it enough.

UPDATE : yesterday I worked a eleven hour shift so had my makeup on for around thirteen hours and I'm super happy to say that my eyeshadow didn't budge! :-) by the time I got home, only a tiny tiny amount had moved into the creases of my eyelids but it still looked 'fresh' after all that time :-)

Having hooded eyes has meant I;ve always had massive problems with the rubbing and wrinkles from my eye make up. SO after reading a few tips on here I decided to give this Elf Eyelid Primer a go.

What can I say, I LOVE IT!! I no longer have any problems with my make up leaving awful wrinkle lines, and my eyeline stays put much longer. The tube is small but economica, and the applicator brush can be a little irregular in the amount it puts out, but a quick rub with your finger evens it out. This is a great product I'd definitely recommend if you're having problems with make up rubbing. However I haven't tried many other Primers yet, so it will be interesting to see how it stacks up.

This primer is an absolute lifesaver. Being a student I have not been able to afford an eye primer, but when I saw this elf primer at Kmart, I thought, for $5, lets give this a go! And wow, this has got to be one of the best $5 I have spent! (I have the white eye primer)

Usually, my eye shadow wears off half way through the day (or sometimes even after a couple of hours) but with this primer, I get a super vibrant result with my eyeshadow, which lasts the entire day! It ends up looking the same from morning, until night.

The packaging is very basic and boring, and they could have put more product into the tube, as it only seemed to be about 3/4 full when I first brought it. I found myself having to dig the wand towards the sides of the container to pick up the product, however I am not complaining! I will be buying this primer from now on, as it does the trick, and is perfect for me.

I would definitely recommend trying this out, especially if you dont have any other primers :)

I have this primer in the tone 'Sheer' and after using Urban Decay's renowned original Primer Potion I actually prefer this one. I find it does the same job as my primer potion and at a fraction of the cost. The packaging is simple and makes it easy to apply. Just swipe the applicator over your lids, blend it in, wait for it to dry and you're ready to apply your eye shadow. I can't go without this product, it stops my shadows from creasing and helps my shadow colours and eye liner last all day. I like that it also makes the colours more opaque so I can use less and get the same colour pay-off. Can't beat it!

I have never used an eyelid primer before until I purchased the e.l.f. eyelid primer!!

Wow I never thought I had a problem with my shadows coming off during the day until I used the primer. My eye shadow does not move at all!! After 10-12 hours my eye shadow still looks like it has been just applied1!

it has basic packaging, with a doe foot applicator its light and unscented which is great as the eyes can tend to be more sensitive.

It applies very smoothly and dries very quickly I generally will run my finger over once applied just to smooth out a bit more.

I have the nude (sheer) and find it is great for enhancing most colours of eye shadow. I would suggest not to use a huge amount as you don't need it, and then you don't have to worry about unsmooth looking eye shadow.

I would recommend this product to others as its very reasonably priced, easy to apply and is a great enhancer .

This product is easy to remove at the end of the day.

I won't bother buying any more primers - this one does the job well, and it's very affordable! It has a slightly oily texture which is odd when you apply it considering you want oil free lids, but it dries down well. Makes my eyeshadow last all day, despite my naturally oily lids. Don't use too much, and blend it in well with your finger. I prefer the 'sheer' shade. I also have 'pearl', but I didn't find it as long lasting and it was too sparkly.

Let me preface by saying that this is the only eyelid primer I have used, so I don't really have anything else to compare it to. So I can't say if it's better/worse than other brands, but I can say that I really do love it :)

I like that the formula is quite thin and sheer. I already have enough product on my eyelid, I don't need a thick, heavy primer as well. The colour I have (Sheer, a pinkish colour) is quite nice on its own to even out any redness on my lids wen I'm not wearing eyeshadow. I notice that it definitely helps the colours show up better, especially when I wear something shimmery, and it makes it last way longer. Without the primer, my everyday eyeshadow lasts about 6-7 hours and with this, it would probably be on the next morning if I didn't wash it off.

I think this is a great product, especially for the price.

Purchased this item from kmart ($5) a couple of days ago and couldn't be happier. Not only with the price as everyone loves a good deal but the performance of this item. Easy application, eyeshadow adheres to it and stays on ALL DAY. Very happy with this product and will purchase again as needed.

Before I got this primer I was using my NYX HD Studio Primer on my eyelids (not the best, I know, but it was all I had. :D) and the difference is insane!

This eye primer solidified the fact that an eyelid primer is so important when it comes to creating eye looks that require very pigmented shadows.

I love how this primer makes literally all my eye make-up outlast the night, I come home and my make-up looks virtually untouched.

The price is a bonus too - recommend to everyone!
