I picked this up a long time ago from iherb for USD$3. I have used a quite a few high-end eyeshadow primers so I was really interested to see how this would compare to the NARS and Urban Decay ones. I picked this up in Sheer which is just a nude-y pink shade.
The packaging is very simple as per most e.l.f. products that I have. But also at the same time kind of similar to the NARS one. Just a long tube with a matte black lid (although not rubberised like NARS). It has a doe foot applicator which I really like, makes it really easy to get the product out and onto the eye.
The product is really nice and somehow matches my skin tone quite well. It does have quite a silcone type feel to the touch which is nice. I didn't feel like it was clumpy or a weird consistency at all. When you sheer it out the colour goes away a bit so I feel like it would suit quite a lot of people. If you leave this for a while it drys down quite a bit which is nice, it feels like a nice base for eyeshadows (as it should). I actually think that this performs incredibly similar although not quite as well as the NARS formula, which is great for the price! It helps make my eyeshadows last a lot longer and the colours show up a bit nicer too.
I think overall the Urban Decay one is still my favourite but this is still fantastic, especially for the price.
Another iherb purchase for me, not one I will bother with again. The primer is thin and blends easily on the eyelids, shadow adheres well to it and I feel that it did help my eyeshadow to last well through the day. However it did nothing to make my shadow pop as other primers, paint pots or grease stocks do. I realise elf is a cheap and cheerful brand it the chemical smell of their products is a real turnoff for me. Will be sticking with my other primers from now on.
