e.l.f Shadow Lock Eyelid Primer is available in 4 colours: Sheer, Champagne, Pearl & Golden. I wanted to try "Sheer" but the Kmart I went to was out of stock so I had to settle for "Pearl".
e.l.f. Shadow Lock Eyelid Primer provides a silky smooth foundation for your eye make-up and helps ordinary eye shadows to last longer and helps prevent them from creasing. The primer is packaged in a white plastic tube with silver writing and a black lid (similar in size to a slim tube of mascara) and has a colts-foot applicator.
I’ve found that for best results, the primer needs to be applied very thinly. To do this, remove the colts-foot applicator and either place a small dot of primer on each eyelid, or transfer some of the primer from the applicator and onto a finger before spreading the primer over the entire eye area (from lash line to eyebrow).
Personally, I prefer to place some of the primer on my ring finger, then gently rub my two ring fingers together to get a small amount on each before applying this to my eyelids. This ensures that a thin coat is applied and its easier to blend and quicker to dry. Allow the primer to dry completely before applying any eye shadow.
The lightweight creamy formula has a silicone-smooth feel with a soft, almost matte finish on the skin. "Pearl" comes out of the tube as a white primer with a slight shimmer but once it's blended and a light coloured eye shadow is applied over the entire area, the shimmer becomes much less noticeable.
Eye shadow definitely glides on a lot more smoothly than without a primer and eye shadow colours become more vibrant. I usually find that cheaper eye shadows collect in the crease of my (sometimes oily) eyelids but even these become longer-lasting, more intense and don't crease as much.
For a budget brand, this eye shadow primer works well and is definitely value for money.
Iv bought two of these of far in the pearl primer and the champagne colour. The packaging for this product is pretty simple. I use these both and they are a very smooth formula. I wouldn't say it is 100% crease less but it does a good job. The lasting power of this is ok as well. I don't really like the applicator for these I always use a makeup brush to apply or my finger. It is abit greasy as well. Would buy again but not for the full RRP I was lucky to get these on special. If they weren't on special I properly wouldn't have bought it.
