I had been looking for a kabuki brush to try, but there are so many brands out there I was never quite sure if I was going to get a good one. I tried the Elf Kabuki of a friend, and I loved it. I mainly only use it for getting light coverage of my powder foundation over my liquid, but it really makes a difference. It's easy to use with the short handle, and the bristles are so nice and soft.

I got this brush off iherb, I wanted another kabuki for my mineral foundation and this one is super cheap so I thought why not! It is quite big, I have a real techniques one and it is a lot bigger then that. The hair is quite soft and it is reasonable dense so it buffs out the powder nicely. Since it is so large it also does a large area quickly. The only problem with that is that it doesn't quite fit into my powder container but I guess I could just transfer it into something else- for now it is fine and I can't really be bothered doing that! I'm sure there are a tonne of amazing kabukis out there but for a beginner like me, I think this is a great buy.
Tips: because it is quite large, I think it's best suited to mineral foundations or finishing powders. I don't think it would be very good for precise blending like bronzer or blush.
ELF recently had a sale where you got 50% off their new and best sellers so I managed to pick this up for only $3.50 US.
I'd never used a kabuki brush before and wasn't too sure what I would use it for but I'm super glad I got it.
The brush looks really pretty and it reminds me of a panda :p the bristles are tightly packed and best of all it's cruelty free and 100% synthetic. It feels amazingly soft and I haven't had any bristles fall out - even after washing it.
The brush picks product up really evenly - just remember to tap the brush before applying product to your face to reduce fallout. I've been using this mostly to apply my Finishing powder all over my face, but I also used it when I applied my bronzer.
It blended the product onto my face evenly and easily. It didn't leave behind any streaks, it felt super soft on my skin and it's sooo easy to use. I really like this for my finishing powder as, if you use a stippling motion, you can really get the powder to settle into your skin - rather than just sitting on top of it, which I feel looks more natural and reduces cakiness.
Overall I think it's a pretty brush, it's easy to clean and very soft and durable. The next time I do an elf order I will be purchasing this again as I would love to have a backup. For $6 it's an absolute bargain - especially when comparing it to other kabuki brushes. I highly recommend it.
And yet another major HIT for Elf, I am constantly being blown away by the quality of their products. This brush set me back less than $4 NZD during their big 50% off sale and I'm so glad I got it and slightly annoyed I didn't grab a couple more. The bristles are super soft yet dense, the handle is big enough to grip properly yet small enough to carry around in your handbag. I love using this with my powder to set my foundation, I find that this brush doesn't move my foundation around while setting it unlike some other brushes I've used before. I think this brush is worth so much more than the current price tag but I'm certainly not complaining at the affordability. I haven't had any problems with shedding or bleeding either which is a big plus!
I am a big powder user as I like the matte look, and I have now found my holy grail brush to apply it with! This brush is so very soft with a wide bristle area so it's great for getting coverage all over the face. The finish is good and because of the lack of a long handle, it fits easily in small purses and makeup bags. I like it so much I've bought two!
After reading great reviews on the e.l.f kabuki brush I decided to give this a go! I'm super happy with my purchase and love how soft it is. I use this brush to blend over my bronzer and blush if I have applied slightly too much, this smooths everything out and makes my makeup look flawless. Love to pat this over my face gently once I have aplied setting spray as well. Definitely reccomend this product !
This is a great little kabuki brush, it is perfect for applying finishing powder to your face. I use this everyday and find that there is little to no shedding, it washes well and does an all around amazing job.
It is very soft and feels great against the skin, it holds product well and is a steal for the price.
I love this brush! I use it everyday with my setting powder and it works perfectly.
I find it is a really great size (Not too big or small) and I haven't had any problems with it shedding at all.
A great little brush, nice and soft, and especially for the price, you can't go wrong!
I own 5 kabuki brushes (along with a range of large powder brushes) from various brands. I find they often cake up quickly being used as powder brushes because they tend to pick up a bit of foundation on application. My e.l.f kabuki has out-lasted the rest and stayed soft and fluffy for longer without needing a wash - which is a huge bonus because these brushes take longer than any others to dry. Definitely worth throwing some spare change at this one, you won't be disappointed!
Tips: When drying, fluff your brush out on a towel every hour or so. This will keep it from drying on any strange angles and will ensure it stays fluffy.
When my last kabuki brush died (I can't even remember where I got it from, it was that old) I was so sad as it picked up product with ease and applied it well. Thankfully at the time I managed to get a Kabuki brush as part of an Elizabeth Arden set from BR's fabulous vault. It was lovely and soft but for some reason the product just never made it on to my cheeks (I use Kabuki for blusher mainly). So I thought it was my new blusher being average. Then I tried it with my old blusher and it still didn't apply that well. Clearly it was the brush - the search continued. So after reading the reviews of the e.l.f Kabuki Face Brush on iherb I decided to splash out a few dollars ($6US) and give it a go. And I'm so glad I did because it's amazing. It picks up colour beautifully and applies it to the face easily. I love a rosy glow and this brush gives me one. It's also nice and soft! Great product - amazing price - what's not to love?
