e.l.f Makeup Mist and Set Review

This was my first setting spray, I brought it from Kmart for $10 and was excited to spray it on my face as I am always having trouble with my foundation not staying put.

I have just read some of the reviews on this product, saying it smelt like ... well ... bad things. But honestly, I thought it smelt nice and fresh when I sprayed it on my face.

The product comes out nice and evenly, which is defiantly a plus and it doesn't feel harsh or 'tightening' like some other sprays I have read reviews on.

However, I don't feel like it increased the life of my foundation, I would still turn into an oily mess. But I did end up using up the whole bottle (very small bottle I must add, but it did last for quite a long time.)

I think if I didn't have oily as heck skin I would like this product a lot more, maybe just as a refreshing spray throughout the day.

For it's price I think it is a pretty decent product. I would recommend the spray to my friends, depending on their skin type of course.

This is a reasonable product. Good price, works pretty well and doesn't smell overly strong. Packaging is a bit dull. I did find this helps my make up last for a few extra hours.

I find this really handy when I am running low on funds and need something fast, I also take this with me when i am getting ready at friends places or for a weekend away as I'd rather loose this compared to something more expensive ( eeeek ) but it always does the job right!

So I ordered this (in a bit of an ELF haul) from iHerb, which was a lot of fun. It came all wet so I think it may have leaked a little bit?

Aside from that, this setting spray is really good. It doesn't come out too wet (and then doing the opposite by pulling the makeup off!) and I genuinely think that it really helped to keep my makeup on for longer. I would recommend it to others that don't have a setting spray and want to try something out because it's so affordable but the reason I wouldn't try it again is just because I've heard great things about other setting sprays that I think I might invest in next time.

All in all it's a great spray and it truly works so worth a shot!

Packaging- When I first purchased the product, the bottle was very leaky and everytime I used it the product would just pour out like a tap, so ended up just having to dab it onto my face. After a while, the spray pump started working properly and now I can use it without it spilling everywhere but it does still leak a little bit.

Product - I find this works really well for setting my makeup but does take about 5 - 10 minutes to sink in and work with my foundation. It's refreshing and doesn't have an unpleasant odor or create tackiness on the skin. It settles well.

Lasting power - I find that the mist and set doesn't really create a long lasting makeup like it says it would. I could easily go without it and my makeup wouldn't suffer or fade for it.

Overall- I have mixed feelings, I use this everyday just for the fact that I like the way it settles in with my makeup and is refreshing on the skin, however it doesn't help with fading or wear ability.

I actually love this product for one reason and one reason only. I use a lot of powder products more than I like using liquid products, so with my combination skin the dry patches can sometimes start to look powdery and cakey. This spray fixes that problem for me.

Does it make my make up last longer or stay on better? I don't think so. I haven't noticed any difference in the staying power. I don't mind the smell, honestly. I think it smells natural and fresh, although it's not so fun when I get it in my mouth. I just mist 2-3 sprays on my face when I've finished doing my make up and it settles everything onto my face so that it looks a lot more natural.

During summer I can imagine how refreshing and lovely this would make my skin feel!

Update: a) I now just take this with me when I go on public transport to my course because it refreshes my make up. b) The smell turned bad pretty fast. Ugh.

I picked this up because I needed a setting spray for an event and couldn't justify spending the bigger money on urban decay etc. For $10 though, I obviously didn't expect it to last all day or night. But it did help for a few hours at least. Its a bit more of a spray than a mist, but pleasant enough. Packaging wise, it is in the exact same bottle as my daily brush spray, and it has come pretty close on more than one occasion!!

I would recommend this to anyone on a budget, it doesn't react at all with my super sensitive skin and the scent is gentle, and leaves me slightly dewy.

This is my first setting mist so I thought I'd try something in a low price range. I usually don't get that oily on my face so my makeup stays pretty well anyway but just to make sure everything is flawless I thought why not, it's pretty cheap. I'm not sure if this actually did anything because I find that if I accidentally rub my face or something I still feel like I'm smudging my makeup. I did find that when I get slightly sweaty this helped make it stay a bit better. Aside from the setting my face I've mainly been using it with baked products. I find that when I spray my brush slightly before trying to pick up powder I get a really nice result. The colors pop out much more and stays on better. This has been a big improvement for my eye shadow as now it's much more pigmented looking. The smell is also much nicer than I expected, fresh and not unpleasant at all. I'd recommend this to anyone who's just starting out on using setting sprays and want to try something that's cheap but still effective.

It took me a little time to warm to this spray, but now that I have it's part of my daily ritual! It only slighly improves the staying power of my make up, but I love the smell and feel when applied - it's super refreshing and also the dewy finish. And I have found after using it for a while that the minerals definitely have helped improve the feel of my skin. if you're after staying power this is not the one for you, but with the other benefits I'll definitely be using this again.

A long time ago I picked this up in an iherb order. e.l.f. makeup etc is just so cheap that I can never hold back from popping a few more things into my cart. I think I was also on the hunt for a new spray anyway as my Urban Decay one I had just finished and I really didn't want to spend the money to repurchase.

I actually really like the packaging of this product. It has a black square bottle with a sprayer on the top. I find the spray on this is really quite fine so I would even compare the spray to my beloved Urban Decay spray.

To me I don't smell anything when using this. Sometimes I wonder whether I have gotten tricked into purchasing water in a spray bottle (although it was quite cheap so I don't really mind that much if I was). My favourite reason for using something like this is because I have a tendency to over powder my face and make it look very cakey. With a few spritz of this product the cakey-ness goes away and I look like I have skin again. I don't think the ingredients of Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber etc actually do anything for my skin but it is a nice spray. I really don't think this does make my makeup last longer but it certainly makes it look nicer while it is on my face and I love that.

I think I would repurchase this when I run out. I don't think it does anything special, but I don't think that the more expensive versions of this can be justified when they don't do anything different than this product.
