I've always been one of those people that put on a full face of makeup in the morning only for it to have strangely vanished or shifted by morning tea time. But that was before I got this fabulous little bottle of Mist and Set.
It is now an integral part of my daily routine to spray my face with this product before leaving the house for the day, feeling confident that not only does my makeup look better, but I'm much less likely to walk past a mirror later and be horrified by my reflection.
After applying all my makeup I simply spray two or three bursts of this product over the top, which gives my face a lovely dewy, radiant sparkle, which is particularly good for my aging skin. It seems to set my makeup somehow, so it does still wipe off if you rub your face, but doesn't fall off with just light touching or knocking. At only $10 it's well worth a try.
Tips: Great product for slightly aging skin, giving a light dewy appearance.
I tried this after not being too sure about it. I absolutely love it! Helps my makeup stay on all day and removes the powdery look I get sometimes.
Tips: Don't spray too close to your face and maybe apply before your mascara
Out of the many, many wonderful e.l.f products I have recently discovered this one has now been added to my 'fave's list'. As a person with dry flaky skin, along with another fantastic e.l.f product the mist has been such a blessing. Its soothing on my skin as well as helping prevent my make up shifting through out the day. I now keep a bottle in my make up case and in my hand bag in a zip lock bag - just in case! And its SO affordable so why not have more than one bottle? I also love the fact that it is practically odourless so its fantastic for sensitive skin such as mine. Its is available online on iherb.com for $3USD (about $3.85NZD) and also at Kmart for $10.
Tips: Give it a whirl! Why not at that price xxx
This is great for when you have over powdered your face and want some of that glow back. It doesn't really extend your makeup or anything though. I do like it, it is inexpensive, so I probably would repurchase it.
This setting spray does seem to do the job. Its cheap enough that I don't need to worry about how many sprays I do unlike what you see in Youtube videos and you're like "thats definitely a $5 spray right there" when they spray their high end setting sprays. my only downside is this isn't a great smelling product but it gets the job done. Its not a chunky mist and its not super fine - a nice spray thats not going to spray you in the eye.
This spray feels and smells really refreshing for its price. If you don't give it a quick shake or spray it too close, you will get clumpy bits of spray that stick onto you. However you can rub it slightly and it will disperse. However its easy to learn where to hold and it what works for you, so it's not exactly a downside. The spray definitely helps the makeup stay in place, even lip cremes! And for the price you just can't beat it.
I LOVE this product! I was initially a little skeptical about makeup setting sprays as the only one I had previously tried was the Australis one which I did not rate at all. However after asking on Beauty Review forums for recommendations to help stop my makeup from transferring so much onto my poor boyfriend's shirts, this was recommended to me and I decided to take the plunge!
It comes in a small plastic spray bottle. I picked mine up from K-Mart for $10 but you can also get them a lot cheaper online. I really do like the packaging of this, the transparent plastic allows you to see how much product remains which I like in a container as I hate when you run out of something by suprise. I actually found that the nozzle on mine was pretty good, delivering a fine, even amount of spray.
I use this every day to set my makeup, applying it after I have applied all my 'face' makeup e.g. bb cream, foundation, powder, bronzer, blusher. I tend to spray it with the bottle about elbows-length from my face four times - on my forehead, cheeks and chin, to ensure I get good coverage across my face.
It feels very cool and refreshing on the skin and only has a light scent to it. Initially it looks like you have a fine mist of water on your skin which is great for refreshing the skin but it did make me worry that it would mess up my makeup like standing in the rain. Instead the mist absorbs really quickly leaving you with a natural finish so you can't even tell at a glance that you have applied it, but boy does it work well!
After using this my makeup really does last ALL DAY! This is from 6am when I apply it, to 6pm when I leave on days I do overtime. After 12 hours all it really needs is a quick powder touch-up and you're good to go. I initially purchased this to stop makeup transferring, and while I found this is still possible, it is a LOT less than what used to transfer without using Mist and Set. I work in an operating theatre so often have to wear a mask which would be absolutely covered in makeup after removing it, now there is only ever a small amount which is pretty impressive to me.
I have been using this religiously now for over a month ago and it's about a third used. I use it every day so I would say using how I do you could expect to get a good 3-4 months use from one bottle, which is incredibly good value considering the small price tag.
I will definately be repurchasing this (next time online!) and I recommend trying it to anyone after a great finishing spray for a bargain. Buy it now!!
Tips: Spray it at elbow-length from your face to avoid either too fine a mist or getting too large droplets on your skin.
Prior to this I had never used a makeup setting spray. When ELF had a sale, I got this directly from their website.
This comes in a small bottle that easily fits in your hand. I like that although the plastic is tinted, you can see how much product you have left.
ELF say that this has natural ingredients in it such as green tea, cucumber, aloe vera and vitamins A, C and E. When this is sprayed it feels really cooling and refreshing on your skin, so I use this as a refreshing spray when it is hot as well.
The pump is a regular spray nozzle and it doesn't spray a super fine mist. That is my only gripe with this. However, I find that if I hold this about 30cms away from my face then it dispenses the product just fine.
I use this every time I wear makeup and I spray it on my face after applying it. It really does prolong the wear I get from my makeup, as well as hydrating my skin. Even when dry, this doesn't make your skin feel sticky or dry whatsoever.
Luckily I purchased 2 bottles of this, so I am not in danger of running out any time soon. However, when I next buy from ELF or iherb, I will definitely be repurchasing this. I highly recommend it.
Tips: Buy this from either ELF's website, or iherb as it is only US $3 on there :)
I picked this up from Kmart when it first came in and was pleasantly surprised! It settled the powders on my face and got rid of the cakey look that sometimes follows after powdering down the foundation. It definitely extends the wear of your makeup but it doesn't smell all that good.
