Tips: Less is more with this product, not for oily skin.
This primer was one of my first primers when I had no idea how primers worked. It was cheap and came in a huge bottle which even now has about 1/3 left. The pump dispenser is easy to use and hygienic.
This has a very thick, gel like consistency (which I now know is due to the silicone). It mostly spreads smoothly but sometimes if you put too much on it rubs to form kind of gritty 'clumps'. It makes my face feel smoother when I'm wearing it but it also feels almost as if my skin can't 'breathe'. I'm an avid believer in natural, 'no makeup' makeup so the weight of this on my face is quite off putting.
Since this one I've also tried benefit's porefessional and some korean branded whitening primer. Both feel lighter and fill my pores more smoothly than this elf one. So this bottle has slowly migrated to the back of my makeup drawer.
I would recommend this to those starting out with makeup, looking for a cheap primer.
Love this primer it is so light weight and feels really soft on. Makes it easier to apply foundation on top off. Isnt sticky or clumpy. Best drug store cheap primer ive tried.
Tips: I apply with just my fingers find it easier and not wasting as much product when you use a brush
I swear by Napolean Perdis Auto Pilot primer but have been searching for something cheaper & more affordable for every day wear, I stumbled across this on iherb.com I have quite oily skin so was surprised to find this actually goes the distance on my face- I do give it a couple of minutes after applying to let it set before I pop my foundation on though. If you're after something cheap & cheerful for everyday then I'd definitely recommend this... Even if you have oily skin!
Tips: Once you've applied it, give it a few minutes to kind of set before applying your foundation.
So smooth, and silky. A little goes along way. Probably wouldn't use it again though as my face is smooth enough and my makeup look lasted longer on the days i didnt wear it than on the days i did.
First ever primer that I have ever used so really wasn't sure what to expect and I can't compare to other primers. Like how its a pump but hate that I can't see through the bottle to see how much I've used, is left, you can unscrew to get the last bit out which is great but I want to see through the bottle not have to keep unscrewing it to check how much is left. Now first application, one pump and isn't it silky, wasn't sure if I'd covered my whole face as it left my finger tips really silky feeling, left a couple minutes then applied foundation, seemed to glide on (I use techniques sponge) actually felt like my foundation was sitting better and noticed that it looked great all day without having to add powder. I've also used under my BB cream its become a regular part of my beauty routine.
My sister ended up giving me this. first impression was that the packaging was quite average. Love products with a pump so thats a thumbs up, also was easy to apply so my skin and no irritation. Felt silky and made my foundation look nice and flawless. Wasn't exactly in love but it does the job well so cant complain, good price also so try it out :).
For a first time primer user this was pretty great! It smoothed out areas that I did have large pores making them less visible when my foundation was one. However I still had a problem with dry/flaky skin in some areas.
I have to say though it made my skin feel amazingly soft and smooth.
Tips: Only use a small bit as it does go a long way!
I have never used a primer before, so I tried the e.l.f primer as a starter because of the price (only $6). The gel feels like silicone and I use only one pump to cover my whole face.
The primer makes my face really smooth (seriously like silk) and makes applying pressed powder a lot easier e.g. it spreads across my face more smoothly and evenly. It also makes my powder last a lot longer during the day.
I started using the primer with BB Cream and pressed powder. But I feel like it's a bit much with the BB cream as well, so I use the primer with powder when I am going for a more natural look.
Unfortunately I am not a fan of the smell (chemically) but that is covered up by the smell of pressed powder/foundation. I also don't really think it helps with enlarged pores and fine lines.
But for the price, it is definitely worth it if you are just looking to make applying makeup easier and make it last longer.
Tips: Let the primer dry for a few minutes before applying foundation
I have the clear and the colour correcting green for when Im getting a bit of redness, I have quite dry skin and this helps give my skin the extra pep it needs.
For the price this is a good product The primer is a gel cosistency, but quite light in feeling, the texture is very smooth, but it sinks in quite quickly
My make up applies more evenly especially on my nose and forehead which are my driest areas, even my mineral make up goes on alot better too
I found that by the afternoon, my makeup looked as if it was sliding of my nose and was a little patchy and I needed to reapply my foundation, so will need a good setting powder over the top
