e.l.f Plumping Lip Glaze Review

I bought this yeeeears ago back before I knew e.l.f was a thing - a little chemist in Auckland city sold it (it's since closed down) along with a whole bunch of other e.l.f products and since at the time I was in a funk about my less than ample upper lip I snapped it up as it was pretty darn cheap (around $5 if I my old sleep deprived brain remembers rightly). I love how this gloss feels on my lips - I always apply the clear gloss first and it's so cool and tingly (smells like mint too!) and you do feel like something is working to puff them up! Then on top of that I apply the colour gloss - I have it in Mauve Berry and it's the prettiest shade - a purply red with a hint of sparkles. I can't say my lips go all Jolie but they do appear slightly larger and I love the colour. The gloss is shiny not sticky and it sticks around for a while before you need to reapply. For the price I would definitely suggest giving this gloss a go - even if it doesn't super plump your lips it looks pretty on :)

The only reason I got to try this product is because my friend didn't like it, and honestly I have to say it is amazing. My lips have never looked fuller!

There are so many good aspects about this, (as well as the fact it comes in various colours mine is Ruby Red), the brushes on either side of the lip glaze are perfect no to rough not to flimsy. It goes on beautifully, when using the clear gloss as a base then adding the beautifully coloured glaze it is amazing how durable the colour is. I only have to re-colour once during an 8 hour time period. Another aspect I love about this product is; it seriously makes your lips be seen!

I tried this years ago in a darkish pink colour. It did make my lips look a bit fuller however I think that was partly the shade as well, as often I wouldn't apply the pepperminty clear gloss but rather just use the colour.

The tube lasted for ages and the staying power was surprisingly good. The product had a nice shimmer to it but wasn't at all glittery, which I think added to the illusion of fullness. I'd love to buy another one but they're quite hard to find in my area.

Gotta say I didn't expect anything amazing from this. Pros -I love the color of the tinted side (Baby doll). It's such a cute, soft pink that makes me look so youthful and happy. -The tube is cute and very convenient -The brush is soft and is a good size, bristles are also super fluffy -Doesn't feel too sticky nor too dry. Good smooth consistency here. -Has a tiny amount of glitter that sparkles in the light -The color is quite pigmented so I usually don't wear anything else under it Cons -DOES NOT PLUMP! Maybe it's just me but I'm so disappointed that this plumping gloss had no enlargement effect on my lips. Like seriously you had one job! -Slightly tingles when I use the clear side as a base. I'm not sure if I like this or not. It's a strange feel that some people might not like. I don't really mind it too much. -Gets a little sticky after a while, that gooey feeling when I open and close my mouth. -Has a weird smell. I'm so used to lip glosses smelling nice and fruity this was an unpleasant surprise. It didn't smell sweet at all.

Overall: Considering how cheap this was, ($2 on iherb!) I'd say it's not a bad lip gloss. It works well enough as an ordinary gloss but doesn't make my lips any plumper.

I came across this gloss on iHerb and at $1.99 (US) I thought I'd give it a go. It is a double ended gloss with one end colored and the other a milky colored gloss that goes on clear. I use the milky, transparent gloss first as it is meant to plump your lips. It has a minty smell and tingles a little when you first put it on but it fades after a few minutes. Honestly I can't tell if my lips are plumped more or not by this gloss. The colored end is also a bit minty but not as much as the clear end. The colour definitely does not last through a meal- at all. General wear is only about an hour or two tops. This all sounds rather bad but I still like this gloss- the minty ness is addictive, the tingle feels nice. I use these glosses as just that, gloss, I don't expect it to last, I reapply it frequently and I like the sheer tint of the colour. The colour I first purchased was Ruby Kiss- a rosey red gloss. I also have since purchased another in Plum Pout, which is a rusty brown colour. The names of these colors definitely does not represent the colour you receive so beware if buying online.
