The packaging of this lipstick is go gorgeous, it looks luxurious and sturdy, with a door pattern on it. It feels very weighty to hold in my hand and the lid snaps on with a click. The actual lipstick also has a 'door' symbol on it.
The one that I have is in a gorgeous rose/hot pink shade. The closest shade to that I have is the Za RD406 which I received as a trial product. This looks bright on my lips but not neon, and makes my teeth look whiter. It also suits my fair skin very well.
The application is smooth and doesn't drag my lips, and it's opaque enough without feeling gritty. The finish is mostly matte but it doesn't dry out my lips. It's long lasting and doesn't transfer much (being a matte lipstick I basically expected this).
When I wiped it off with a tissue, there was a very slight rose colored stain left, which looked really natural.
A great high end lipstick that feels smooth and moisturing!
Tips: Start prepping your lips with lipbalm before you even start on your makeup so that it has some time to sink in when you apply lipstick.
Firstly, how cute are these lippies with the signature door design case? That drew me in, at first, and I am pleased that the interior product is just as luxurious. I got this in Ultra Violet 40, a cranberry hue, which looks much darker in the tube than when applied. It is actually a very wearable berry- it is not a 90's goth/grunge dark lip. It feels like lip balm and wears about the same- you may need to reapply more than more matte formulas.
Tips: Apply a lip-liner beforehand as this will give your colour longevity.
Before getting this lippy, a crayon EA lippy was my go to for the longest time so I was really excited to get this! I decided to branch out and go for a red!
The packaging is beautiful!! It's a stunning fancy gold and looks fantastic on display! The colour I got is Red Door. I'm not that big on red lipsticks as they are so bright so I have to be feeling really confident to wear it. But it's such a beautiful colour that it's definitely worthy of wearing often. It feels really nice on my lips, not drying at all in fact it was rather hydrating! The colour payoff is great once again and lasts a fairly decent time. It such a dream to apply also, nothing tricky about it!
Tips: I always apply lip balm to my lips before I start applying makeup as i find it helps my lipstick last longer and stay fresh. I let that set in then always line my lips with a similar shade lip liner, then apply my lippy
I purchased the shade 'pale petal' but in hindsight I should have picked 'honey' - store lighting is an unfortunate part of buying makeup and the pale petal appeared to be the perfect nude when swatched on my hand but in reality it is far too pink based for me to pull off. I would recommend this as the nude for cool toned girls. The shade aside this is a gorgeous lipstick - the texture is very similar to MAC matte lipsticks - smooth and velvety, long wearing and not glossy (well not the shade I picked anyway) it also has a vague vanilla scent and I love the luxurious-ness of the beautiful gold and silver metal casing and the bullet which is embossed with the red door symbol. I am also pleased that this brand has stopped using parabens in their lipsticks which is another bonus. Overall a great lipstick with good staying powder, unfortunately I chose the wrong shade. My only gripe is the price - over $50 is quite a lot for a lipstick and all up I would prefer my MAC lipsticks over this which are nearly $20 cheaper.
