Tips: apply a coat, wait for it to dry and then apply again. VaVa voom lashes!
I picked this mascara up on a whim a few months ago, not expecting much and I wasn't really surprised.
It certainly does lengthen and thicken your lashes quite a bit, however it's very awkward to apply because the brush is so huge! Unless you are good at working with mascara brushes you might find this tricky to apply.
The formula is quite dry but it doesn't clump too much, my main problem with this is that it doesn't really hold a curl at all. As well as that, it smudges on my oily eyelids very easily. This is a pretty average mascara, but I feel like other Essence mascaras are more worth a buy. I won't be buying this again.
I love almost all essence mascaras, this one has quite a large wand that gives heaps of volume and length but not a lot of separation so it really depends on what you look for in a mascara, I do find it to be very waterproof, it doesn't smudge or flake on me, this does mean that it's a bit harder to take off though but I find that coconut oil works really well. I personally won't be repurchasing this because the wand is a little too big for my liking but it works and it's nice to have a waterproof mascara in my collection
Since Essence has been stocked at Farmers it's been great being able to try different products at such low prices! At under $6 I think this mascara is a steal. And I have to say, I'm quite impressed.
On opening the tube I didn't have high hopes because the brush is quite large and the mascara looked a bit clumpy. But when applied, it didn't look clumpy on. It was still quite thick however and didn't spread my lashes a lot.
This mascara wears well (stays on throughout the day without smudging), and the waterproofing holds up well. All up not my best mascara but a good product for a great price.
Tips: With a eyelash comb (or whatever its called, looks like a mini comb on a stick with a few bristles on the other side, I use it on my lashes) you can separate your mascara-d lashes quite easily.
Tried this mascara when I was out of my normal mascara and this was lying around the house, unopened. Not sure what family member bought it but I will deff be recommending they purchase a different mascara.
It was difficult to put on due to the size of the brush, and when on it didn't amaze me. Smudged easily and overall didn't do a lot to my lashes.
This mascara has been my favorite for a year now and I've never had any smudging or mess when I apply it and it dries up soon after applying so you don't have to blow or fan it dry.
Tips: Apply it evenly on your lashes for the best look.
Purchased as a birthday present and because it is so affordable. I usually go for lengthening and defining mascaras but thought I'd give this a go. Didn't realise it was waterproof formula.
The mascara wand is huge, not a fan of it. Makes it challenging to get the inner corner during application. End result lashes do look voluminous but a bit clumpy. Do find it smudges although so far waterproof in terms of crying. Haven't tested it out while swimming though I plan to do so this summer. In terms of removal it is challenging and probably the worst part about using this mascara.
It has positives and negatives. While I will use it up its not something I'm likely to repurchase, but for the price can't really complain.
I only bought this to try as my sister recommended it. Unfortunately I don't rate it as much as she does.
Yes it's very cheap, and I feel that you get what you pay for here. It did make by lashes big, but not in a good way. They ended up clumpy and some stuck together.
In saying that, my sister still uses it and really likes it, so perhaps it just doesn't work well on my lashes.
When I finally saw an Essence stand in person when I was up in Wellington I went to town on purchasing some goodies. One of the things that really caught my attention was this mascara, big claims of big lashes and being waterproof whilst still under $5 ... had to be tried.
The packaging is a bit cheap which I think you have to expect for a product that is this cheap. Just a basic round tube. The plastic is metallic blue though which I thought was pretty cool. The writing on it is bright although it is already coming off after a couple months use. The mascara wand itself is a natural one with a tonne of bristles.
The mascara itself is somewhat of a dry texture which I quite like, although it does mean it has dried out pretty quickly. I have only had it for two months but the dryness has got to a point where now it clumps faster than it can coat my lashes, not impressed but for the price I don't think you can complain about having to repurchase more often. This made my lashes volumised and black. It didn't really hold a curl particularly well but it did live up to its waterproof claims.
Unfortunately Essence isn't the easiest product to get. But if you can get your hands on it I think this is a really nice product to try and for the price you can't go wrong.
