I received 01 neutralize & brighten (the purple) it has claims of instantly makes nails feel stronger & neutralises yellow tones. I do t have much yellow tones but I found a little area and I disagree with that claim. Nails did not feel stronger instantly. But I have noticed there is cannabis sativa oil in this which is hydrating and some really like it as a beauty treatment for hair scalp and skin. I'm not sure what it does for nails though. The brush applicator is a bit thick it fans out in the bottle bit it's not difficult to use. I can't really agree that my nails were stronger in 3 days as claimed as it might be a placebo. They did look shiny but I'm not sure if it was a natural shine from healthy nails or just the polish shine. When you paint on the stuff it looks like a shiny top coat after a few days the shine is more muted. They feel smoother but that could be the texture of the paint. Aside from the possibility of the cannabis oil I don't really get how this "works" one could argue it's just a slightly better alternative to a regular clear nail polish or base coat. It smells slightly better than your average nail varnish. I can't say I would buy this because I feel like I could just oil my nails. I am not convinced it makes nails less brittle. To me this is something that is nice to have but it's not a product that has made me excited. The claim of 96 percent agree that nails felt protected makes sense because I think the act of putting something on your nails that looks shiny and that your told is good for your nails could easily persuade someone. The ml is 13.5 and it's a vegan formula. I will use this up but I'm still sceptical.

I tried the Essie Hard to Resist Strengthener, (neutralize & brighten (the purple) i noticed within a couple of days that my nails were looking better but were feeling stronger. Since i was a child my thumb nail has aways spilt down the middle. I have tried all sorts of strengthing products to fix it, with no luck. But looking at my thumb nails now there is no spilt. They are looking healthy. So would highly reccomend the Essie Hard to Resist Strengthener.

Tips: The product is quite smelly when you use it, so need a ventalied place. But otherwise only need two coats. There was no instructions in the box as to when to reaply. So that would be my only realy problem with the product.
Lovely packaging and like the pink tint. Great brush, glides on easily. Could feel a difference in the strenght of my nails and since I started using it my nails have not chipped as yet, which is great.
Thank you for the opportunity to test, much appreciated
Tips: Brush keeps quite a bit of product on it, make sure you wipe excess off before applying
The Essie brush applied an even coat and the smell was less strong than normal nail polish. I really liked how shiny my nails looked after applying this nail strengthener. It's not quite as shiny as a top coat but it has that subtle shine like cuticle oil on the nails, I couldn't help admiring my nails all day throughout work. However it did start wearing off by Day 3 but I do admit with the frequent handwashing and alcohol gelling I do, I wasn't surprised. I think I like the idea of how it strengthens my nails so will use for the occasions when my nails become dry or brittle after removing nail polish.
It does exactly as it says it does. Soo good! The yellowness in my nails from all the previous nail polishes was neutralized as soon as I put it on. It was easy to apply and definitely made stronger. Only negative is that it pealed off quite abit the second day so definitely need to reapply the next day.
Tips: Re-apply daily
I got to review Essie Nail Strengthener I was intrigued to try this product , I always keep my nails long and I do manicure them myself ! I'm pretty good at it ,however as I'm getting older I noticed my nails are brittle and peeling.
The product claim : After 3 days nails are less brittle and appear healthy and smooth hmm not in my case, probably will take a couple of weeks to have very good results I have using the product for about two weeks so far it's ok I will keep using it to see if any extreme improvement shows , easy to apply and dry super quickly , overall a good product .
Tips: Keep from heat or flames !
I found this product was great. It is clear so easy to apply without making a mess. Dried quickly and left a nice purple sheen. It made my nails less brittle. I let my mum try this and she had amazing results. Her nails are normally soft and dont grow much. After a week her nails had strengthened and were the longest she can remember. They looked amazing. I would definetly recommend this.
I received this to trial in the "Neutralize & Brighten" option. The nail polish comes in white and silver cardboard box. The polish comes in the classic essie packaging; a clear bottle with "essie" etched into the glass, and a classy white lid. The labelling is holographic, which adds a pretty touch to the packaging. The strengthener is tinted purple in colour as it is mean to neutralize yellow tones in the nails. The first time I used this I had just died my hair copper, so my nails were stained yellow (so the perfect time to see if this can neutralize yellow!). As this is tinted purple, it did kind of neutralize the yellow tones, but then it left my nails tinted purple, so it looked like I was lacking in blood supply to my hands! Ideally, a neutralizer will neutralise tones and dry down to a natural colour, so you can wear your nails bare, however, the purple tint just made my nails look a bit corpse like, so I wasn't a fan of using it on bare nails. This wasn't an issue when I used this before applying polish, as it neutralized the yellow tones and the purple tint doesn't show through any nail polish layered over top. This did well for strengthening my nails - I used this several times and my nails did feel stronger and sturdier. I apply new nail polish weekly, so my nails take a lot of flack from me and this has left them in a nicer condition. This dries quickly as well which is ideal for when you want to apply nail polish afterwards.
I do have mixed feelings about this product however. While it does neutralize, the purple tint doesn't look good if you aren't going to apply nail polish after using this which I think defeats the purpose of neutralizing? But this does work at strengthening the nails - but this isn't an essential product for my routine and is quite pricy, so I would recommend this if you have very brittle nails and want a solution, but give this is a miss if you aren't too concerned about nail strength or wanting something to neutralize yellow tones in your nails.
I was lucky enough to be able to try this nail strengthener and i am blown away!
After having acrylic nails for years, my natural nails had become brittle and I could never wear them bare as they were prone to breakage. After using this nail strengthener for a week, I have been able to have bare nails (bar the clear polish) for the first time in years! they have grown so quickly too.
I am well impressed with this product and will be recommending it to everyone
I was so excited to try this nail strengthening polish as I used to bite my nails as a young child right through to my early 20’s, and after that I used to frequent nail salons to cover up my thin, damaged, not so glamorous nails. After realising that the fake nails were indeed damaging my own nails further, I looked into nail polish style treatments that would help me get reasonably long enough nails that allowed me actually feel better about myself. It’s been many years and although my nails will grow, they’re still thin and will chip, peel or tear and break at the edges. The Essie Hard to Resist Nail Strengthener has helped to keep my nails from any damage for far longer than all other products I have previously tried. I love the subtle pink tint this polish gives, and the shine is just gorgeous. I still found the edges of the polish chipped off on occasion however I didn’t feel it was overly noticeable, and the polish still did the job of protecting my nails. I also tend to wash my hands ALOT, which has the annoying side effect of drying my nails out plus giving them a dull appearance, this polish has helped immensely in preventing this occurring. The only issue I had was the lack of instructions by Essie. Apply 2 coats and that’s it, no mention of how long to keep it on, whether it’s reapply every so often, you get my drift. That being said, I do like this product and would recommend it to anyone who thinks their nails need that extra help, or even if they just want that sheer hint of colour with beautiful shine.
