Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review

I absolutely love this foundation. For so long I have been on the look out for a foundation that stays in place all day as well as not being too oily. This foundation is literally a god send, it doesn't budge one bit. This is the best full coverage foundation I have used, and I mostly save it for special occasions or nights out. As naughty as it is, even if I am to fall asleep with my makeup on, I can wake up with it looking basically the same the next morning, and often friends ask me if I have put more makeup on. Would definitely recommend.

I just adore this product!! I find it hard to match a good makeup to my skin tone but this foundation was just perfect! I was slightly skeptical at first but gave it a go! I was wanting something that would last the long hot days at work without needing to constantly touch up in between clients! This product actually lasts!!! I put it on at 7:30 am and when I get home at 8:30 at night my makeup looks as fresh as when I left!

I first got this when I was around 18 and just started to wear makeup, so very into heavy makeup because I wanted it to SHOW! And this is why I'm on the fence with this foundation. I do not have acne, and I have quite normal to combination skin - having lots of dry patch moments throughout the year, but overall it isn't that bad, and this foundation is definitely for people for acne because I won't lie, it does what it's meant to do - COVER. And cover it does! It is VERY heavy, and I can never seem to find the right way to applying it because it just does not work for me. It makes me go dry very quickly, definitely looks like I have foundation and they don't lie and tell you it's natural at all. I find that the product also becomes really thick after a month or two (maybe it was just me) and I had to wait for it to come down. I hate the bottle because it wastes a lot of product without a pumper, and moreover, I just don't think this foundation was right for me at all. I even used it recently thinking maybe my skin will adapt to it more; but nope, it was still pretty bad.

If you don't have acne DONT go for this, and if you do be sure to test it out first!

I purchased this foundation after hearing great things from youtubers. It was my first high end foundation that I purchased in new zealand rather than purchasing it from the internet. Okay when I purchased it cost me $80!!!!!!! To me $80 is not child change, so I was little sad when I had to part with that type of money for a foundation. But I wanted to try it out. I asked the ladies at the make up station if they could colour match me before I purchased it and let me walk around the mall for a little while to see how it looked. I was happy to say it looked great, so I went back to purchase it.

Once at home I didn't want to open it, just didnt want to ruin it as it looked amazing but also costed a huge amount. So I didn't use it for like 2 weeks, then putting on my big girl undies I decided to try it out again. The packaging is good. The bottle is glass with a gold plastic lid. However i wish it came with a pump, but I made do trying not to spill any wasted product around. The foundation was easy to blend out and apply. I used a flat top brush to apply it went on fine.

The foundation was a great colour match, it definitely is a full coverage foundation which is what I like. It covered like a dark spots and redness. The foundtion looks flawless when applied to the skin and blended out.

It lasted for about 5-6 hours without touching up on my skin. However, this foundation is not great in photo's at night or with a flash. It gives you that ghost looking face which nobody wants EVER. So this foundation is more day wear foundation. It is has some SPF in it, so that is most likely why it doesn't photo well.

Now that the price has reduced in New Zealand I will more likely repurchase this foundation when I run out.

Overall I am happy with the purchase and regret nothing, however maybe my bank did when I purchased it.

I have weird skin. It's not overly oily but nothing lasts on it. Until this... I have never been as impressed with a foundation as I am with double wear. It does everything it says it will. Only place it seems to wear off is my nose, which happens with all foundations no matter how hard I try to get it to stay. Does everything it claims, doesn't change colour, is long lasting and buildable. I have never needed to touch it up during the day. Well worth the slightly high pricetag.

I am currently still trialling this foundation. I went the the chemist to get colour matched and they gave me a tester for a golden colour which looked beautiful on my face. I then went to farmers to see what they would say. They gave me a more dull tone that would need more bronzer than the first. So far I have tried both of them and I'm not sure if I'm too keen on the actual product. I'm finding it very thick and super had to blend. I've been using a flat top brush but I may switch to my beauty blender. I also used the suggested amount which was the nail size of the foundation but as I have oily skin wen I use that amount it comes of within a few hours.

I got a sample of double wear a while ago and have found the little bottle has given me heaps of uses, which is great! The colour I was matched to matches my skin tone perfectly and although the foundation is a little thinner than what I'm used to it provides great coverage and I can easily get away without concealer when I'm wearing this. I've tested this out over 8 hours of rain, wind, sweat and tears on the tongariro crossing and an 8 hour sailing trip- to emerge looking just as flawless. So I can say its staying power is great. Despite the comments that it is really hard to take off, I didn't seem to have any trouble with my usual Cetaphil cleanser and Lush Toner. As it is quite pricey I think this will be more of a special occasion foundation rather than an everyday one. I really like it and can def see me buying a bottle when I run out for such occasions

so i'm a huge fan of Estee lauder products, double wear is amazing, long wear and has great coverage the only downfall i found is that taking it off is super hard, i use make up wipes usually but found i had to use a scrub then wipes to get it off!

After reading some reviews I finally went balls deep and bought this foundation and I haven't regretted it for a second. I have combination skin and found it stayed on my t zone all day and didn't get too oily although after about the 8 hour mark I did need to touch up my powder. Id definitely recommend anyone with combo skin to get a sample and try it out. It also didn't break me out which is great! Alas it is pricey so is more of an Occassion foundation then a everyday.

I was given this as a gift and am very impressed. Very easy to apply and the consistency was perfect, it glided on easily and unlike other long lasting foundation I have tried it felt light and I didn't feel like I was wearing a mask. It looked natural so I have found my new favourite foundation. It does not rub off on my clothes and my eye make up, blusher etc sets and looks good with it.
